Quick tips on Blanka vs Viper.
Punish all blocked non-ex Bballs with m.Seismo. Ex with ex seismo. If they are in the light ball > throw range use cr.mp on reaction.
Electricity is not invincible and loses to lows. stuff that shit with meaty st.lk or cr.lk. tip of cr.mk and cr.mp work as well.
Do not use ex seismo in blanka’s slide range, its active longer than ex seismo is invincible. You can use lk bk to beat slide and probably focus now too.
cst.mk beats rainbow balls.
Super gimmicky blankas are annoying but once you figure them out, they usually don’t have anything to fall back on. Solid Blanka’s make this a hard matchup IMO.
overhead also hits him out of non-EX lightning. Rainbow ball is also able to be focused and Viper’s focus is good enough now to use against slide.

By the time I walk over and neutral sj burn kick they have already gotten up and moved away after the knockdown
Also how to punish blocked condor dive viper seems so free to t hawk I don’t have serious AA like I do with Guile if I go in I get spd and zoning him just get jumped over and condor dived. For a character that is an auto pilot win for Ryu or Guile he’s very difficult for me with viper

I’m still a newbie so I might have written some incorrect things (feel free to correct me), but hopefully you will find one or two tips you could use !
Latif just got bodied by gamerbees basic elena… safe to say until this character gets fixed hurtbox wise im gonna list it as a 7 3 mu in elenas favor heres why.
-You cant reliably cross her up at all!
-Burn kicks are not effective unless in a combo
-Cant reliably cr mk xx mp tk
-cant reliable use mp tk as a footsie or pressure tool
Have to use lp tk which is slower and has less reach. Its also very easy to whiff punish.
viper has to seimo elena and elena can very easily stop your seismo game with slides, focus dashes, over heads, her full screen jump kick move ( sorry I could care less to look it up im so pissed)
All in a you cant really play viper in this mu vs elena. Things that make viper tick are not available reliably due to elenas hurt box issues. I pray ti God she gets patched so badly im tired of seeing bogus loses from horrible elena players such as gamer bee simply because he and others abuses her hurt boxs.
Not even, I talked to Latif after his match. That match up isn’t hard he only lost did because of muscle memory of doing MP TK after everything, and the fact that he’s never played against Elena with Viper before.
You can cross her up fine, Burn Kicks are effective when spaced properly, and you shouldn’t be whiffing TKs to begin with.
The only thing that can easily stop Viper’s neutral is dive kick; Sliding is mad punishable, FADC gets beaten by normals if they’re doing it raw and if they do it in between Seismos using an EX Seismo after the dash beats it for free as well, and you shouldn’t be using Seismos in neutral where she can overhead you or connect with EX Mallet Smash and if you meant Rhino Horn that shit gets bodied by LP TK anyways.
You can play ‘Viper’ in that match-up just do everything except cancel your pressure into MP TK. You have CH set-ups, instant BK game, Throws, and Seismo game. You just have to learn a different pressure game against Elena.

Well Latif said she’s easy to beat, and I’m going to quote that. Unfortunately we don’t have any Elenas in my local area and I don’t have online so can’t really show that unless the Elena player I know of that is from another state comes over. Like aside from what you said why else do you think the match-up is hard?
Just play Viper how you’re supposed to play her; zone until you find an opportunity, rush in when they are vulnerable, and back away when your pressure becomes unsafe.
Keeping pressure on her is pretty difficult. I never felt so helpless in a mu before. Once shes cornering me i have no idea what to do. Its very difficult to get her off of viper. Even anti airing her is incredibly odd.
The match-up is similar to the Bison match-up in that you just have to be patient with your pressure; use all 99 seconds against her just stay outside her range where she can start using c.lk to begin her pressure game. In the corner you just have to wait again like against the Bison match-up and pick your moment and the right move to get out either by uppercutting, ex knuckling, bking over lows or over the whole character, ex seismo, etc.
Anti-airing her is weird as fuck you’ll just have to get used to it, I had to go to training mode and learn that.
