I feel your pain brother, I feel your pain!
@C2Q, defending won’t do you much vs Viper, you gotta get in and kill her ASAP before she does. Of course that’s easier said than done, I hate that whore and mostly use Bison vs her lol.
J/w guys. Up close against rog how do you play? I am having trouble mainly because I run into a lot of random dash punches or pokes. It is usually what costs me the match against him because I’ll try to go for a frame trap or a grab and instead i get jabbed out for a free combo. I am too scared to even press forward now because i try to approach and i eat fists.
Use tighter frame traps to punish Rogs who mash jabs with counter hits, cr.mp, cr.mp should work, I barely add any delay with the 2nd cr.mp, if you do it too late you’re going to eat the jabs from Rog.
I have pretty good success using SRK traps too when I have meter, then FADC into Shaku for a good knockdown (i.e do cr.jab, tiny delay then SRK to beat those jabs).
Help me against DeeJay, PLEASE!?! That character is too good, no joke. You can’t punish any of shit on block, like everything is safe. You can’t jump at him, no crossup, no meaties nothing, he fucking owns you with them upkicks. No point ending BnB with sweep because you can’t vortex him for shit. His cr.mk is so good, gets a knock and on whiff has like no recovery so you try to punish but he still manages to do them kick things, bullshit, utter bullshit. What the hell do you do? There’s only a limit with me as to how long I can sit on the screen and throw fireballs all game. To me that’s boring bullshit, I hate that but it seems it’s the only way to beat DeeJay, help, please? wipes salt off his face
Personally, I don’t struggle vs Fei Long because I keep my shit consistant as far as anti-airs, cr.mp chains and crossup tatsus after a hard knockdown.
Only thing I can say about Chicken Wings, focus the third hit if you know when he’s bound to use it and give him hell for it. If he likes to punish sweeps with Rekkas, buffer in a demon and use it when you hear him grunt when he goes in. There’s enough invincibility to catch him with it.
You should ask our friend DA KNUT for advice since he seems to think this matchup is sooooooo in our favour! :arazz:
But since you’re here and you’re a fellow 'Kuma user, here you go:
You can really zone Deejay hard even if it doesn’t seem like you can. You can also out poke him in the mid game with cr mp or standing forward. Once you knock him down you need to learn DeeJay specific safe setups. (sweep>instant command dive kick or throw dash x 2 jump roundhouse)
In the corner if you forward throw you can neutral jump jab air fireball and crossup jumping mk. It’s a pseudo unblockable. Also works on Rog.
I’ve found the trick with Deejay is to wait to throw a fireball till either he throws one or he is not sitting on his charge. If you place your fireballs well then Deejay can’t do jack. If you let him throw those slow ones and follow it in then you are putting yourself in a bad position.
PS don’t try jumping those. Deejay wins that way.
It’s all about footsies and meaties. Akuma is sooooo good at this matchup. When I see Akuma, I hope they are one of them jumping mf. If not, it’s a long road for me
Nah man. The Dee Jay matchup for 'Kuma is all about patience and not pressing buttons for nothing. It’s about keeping him from following in his Max Out’s and not jumping in on him stupidly when you got him down. This is probably one of those few matchups where we have to lame it out (along with Blanka and Zangief) and try not to make too many mistakes that cost us the match.
That doesn’t exactly sound like the best matchup in the whole world, now does it?
Nah Deejay is nothing close to Blanka. You can pressure DJ rather well compared to Blanka.
It sounds like Akuma has the tools to lame it out. Akuma wins 6-4
It sure feels like it sometimes… I feel more comfortable against Blanka than Dee Jay to tell you the truth because I know I can punish careless slides or balls. With Dee Jay, there’s not much there to punish unless the player is really a scrub.
LOL!
Dee Jay is a weird one. Feels really strange off a forward throw, like he gets thrown further or something. I’ve not found anything that can be done against him from a throw except an empty palm in the hope that he whiffs a reversal.
Welp, 8-2 against a bison player today. Hooray for brainless characters!
I wish I had such record against Bisons o:
Eh I’ve destroyed the last several Bison’s I’ve faced. Got to learn your OSs and footsies guys.
8-2 for you? I’m just under 50% for the Bison matchup according to my stats. Was he good though?
Haha no 8-2 him. Fuck bison and his free pressure. :arazz:
And yeah he was good. Scrub bisons are no problem but against normal bison players you run into everything they throw out its fucking retarded.
