He beat Justin Wong as well in a Money Match. Rumor has it that NuckleDu was looking for Mike Ross to Money Match him. Turns out Mike Ross was nowhere to be found.
Nah, Mike Ross just didn’t want to money match against a Guile. Namely his.
BTW, is there a way re-view past stream coverage? I want to check my matches between fubarduck and wolfkrone but can’t seem to find it on twitch TV or focusfire.
Hm, not sure. Their archives aren’t listed at all.

I’m in serious need of some advice of the Evil Ryu match up. after looking at this video i notice a MAJOR flaw in my game. I give up too much space. i need to work on this stat! all advice is really needed…i feel myself leveling up everytime i compete
I know this is the Guile thread and all but that E. Ryu was SICK! But I have a very hard time with E. Ryu as well, so hard to keep him out with all the ways he can jump in at you.
Sup deedog. I’m actually in Chicago right now. Yah, the space thing is definitely an issue. Really though, Antwon is no joke, but lately we’ve been going pretty even, which is why I ranted a bit about the e.ryu matchup. I think that stuff got posted in the matchup thread? Either way, if you haven’t already, check out my thoughts and findings, it might help out. Commentators can talk all day how guides normals blow up e.ryus, but regardless, a s.hp is one thing, and a c.mk xx fireball FADC hit confirm is another beast. Your f.mk can help here. Well… Just check that post.
Honestly, I think you did well and you just had a bad day with your boom timings. I saw a lot of jabs that I think we’re supposed to be booms. Happens to the best of us. Aside from Wolfkrone, weaponsleft and Antwan are the Detroit scenes monsters. Keep playing those guys.

Nooooooooooooooo, I did some really dumb stuff, really got predictable at the end of the match
I watched the vids of the tourney and this recent 4 vids and I’m gonna be pretty blunt here cos my guess is you want to improve and sometimes we are blind to our own mistakes, as I am blind to mine till someone pointed it out.
From the 4 matches you posted, I think many will agree that it’s obvious that you have poor footsies with Guile in a sense you keep whiffing your normals at ranges close and far where whiffing them won’t net any advantage at all for Guile. E.g whiffing s.mp/c.mp after boom outside of your opponent’s jump-in range and throwing a boom right after, whiffing s.hp pretty far outside Guile’s s.hk range, whiffing backfist/s.hk/c.mk. At footsie range, you also randomly throw out normals ‘hoping’ to hit them, and you don’t walk back and forth or try to bait a mistake. These are telltale signs that you lack confidence. The times that your opponents get hit by these random normals are little compared to the times they are thrown out, and if they were good opponents, your normals are gonna get whiffed punished/jumped/FAed/FA dash forward.
Another telltale sign that you lack confidence is that you walk back while whiffing normals too much, even when it’s not needed. You don’t stand your ground or hold db/try a footsie midrange game most of the times. I know Guile doesn’t need to play the footsie game with Cody but Guile pretty much dominates Cody in the midrange game. You keep walking yourself into the corner with that Cody and I think maybe you should’ve tried to hold your ground when nearing the corner, or try to delay your walking back into the corner. You even got Cody in the corner in the first round but you walked back releasing him from Guile’s excellent corner game. S.hp is also not as good an AA as s.mk in this matchup for Cody’s j.hk.
I watched the older tourney of you vs Gief and this latest match against Gief and I can see that there’s no difference from the way you play this matchup. Nj hp is gold in this matchup, even more so when Gief is using U1. I think you should have beat this Gief player as he’s not as good as the previous Gief player and he imo, lacks the most important Gief skill of punishing whiff normals with s.lk > EX GH. But to make up for this, most of the times when he got in was when he jumped over your predictable, high recovery kicks and got in. And yet you kept your normal spamming going on and he jumped in a few more times over normals. This Gief’s jump is also very predictable and should have been punished many times with nj.hp. Guile can even walk forward and nj.hp Gief if he’s out of range. Use backfist smartly in this matchup like getting him to block a boom and smack him in the face when he tries to walk forward after it. You have to use it smart cos whiffed backfist can be whiffed punish with s.lk > EX GH.
You gotta play better players than these to improve imo honestly. And stop with the spamming of Guile’s normals or at least do them when you are really gonna bait. Sit on db without doing anything or walk back and forth in footsie range once in awhile, and learn to whiff punish stuff from opponents. Think of making your opponents whiff normals so you can deal dmg instead of creating openings for your opponents to exploit. Overcome your lack of confidence, or if you can’t, try to hide your weaknesses by trying hard not to expose them if you can.
I hope you don’t take offense from what I feel about your play cos I’m not trying to be a dick.
Yea i realized that i do give TOO much space and thats something i plan to work on asap. With the geif matchup Weaponsleft loves abusing the grab range on the SPD so its like i cant sit still too long IMO because he will just abuse it and keep doing it.
thanks for the advice though…i know your not being a dick…i welcome criticism the good and bad off it. its what makes me a better player in the long run.

This has never been a 7:3 matchup for me. Gen has actually got a lot more shit than this.
Chances are he’s holding back alot of his tech. Noticed alot of players do that quite abit.
Plus, it didn’t look like Daigo knew the matchup with Guile.

NuckleDu vs WeirdoNeo
Woa. I wonder if it’s the way he’s timing it or if juri’s j.hp really beats Guile’s AA’s that easily. I’ve never had a problem with Juris… but none of them jump at me with that.
Hmph.
