Here’s a match from today of ACE going up against another top player, in Tonpy, something tells me that ACE likes to upload his matches vs bad matchups for Guile, maybe he likes showing off. Lol.
This match was amazing btw, at least in my opinion.

btw i heard(from a reliable source) theres a guile player who hasnt registered his card and has 70k+ BP… Japan has a lot of those kind of players, crazy good but you wont know them unless youre here.

GameOuttt is getting better. I wonder how he fares in AE.
I think the KichijyojiKen vid shows us Guile players that we should not use df.hk against Ken’s jump-in hk unless it’s being timed very early or you are sure it’ll at least trade/empty jump. I’ve had bad experiences using it against Ken before too. S.mk will be always be a better AA against Ken’s far jump-in hk and won’t get punished easily on whiff.
Imo, except for the part where he got hit when using shades, the match with Laugh was a good one. Made the matchup appears 7:3.

Alright! Yoshiwo vids! Thanks for those blitz. It’s sad to see them turn out that way, but he did some real good stuff with frame traps in the corner and solid… well, as solid as defense can be against yang. I really want to see someone unlock that matchup with Guile vs. the twins. I think there’s some hidden technology that hasn’t been figured out yet, because at the moment it’s a real head scratcher.

Akuma has the sickest crossup game against guile when he’s got him knocked down in the corner. J.mk will cross guile up, j.hk physically crosses up, but can’t be blocked that way, and j.lk must be blocked as a crossup, but doesn’t physically cross up. D= Focus dashing out works against all of these options, but can be baited just like anything. Luckily, I think Tokido’s the only akuma ive played who exploits this.
Fei’s got similair shenanegins against a cornered guile, but all his stuff actually keeps you in the corner while still having to block it as a crossup, although he can mix it up to, and unlike akuma you can’t focus dash out any of his options. However, yet again, I think Mago is the only fei I’ve played who exploits this, haha.
Triple post because I just got around to watching those gameouttt vids. Ya, he’s very solid. How the ken player won on top of guile’s lack of s.mk AA was that he knew how to vary his jump ins. The “next level” shoto players know that while Guile has great AA’s, shoto j.hp and empty jump into c.mk xx hado really poo over almost any character who has to rely on heavy use of AA normals. I played a good ryu who would empty jump all damn day and land with c.mk xx fireball and it was really blowing me up. Had some strait nerd rage moments when I would watch my AA s.hp or s.mk go right friggin through his body and then peg me with that c.mk during my recovery.
The “next level” Guile players can sense empty jumps and backfist or c.mk as AA, or have the forsight to just block and react.
For the twins, I have had rather good success using jab boom to AA their divekick. They love to nj just outside Guile’s s.hk range and would sometimes use divekick to get in. Throwing a boom when you see them nj can AA divekick if they do it. You can also buffer U1 at this range and hit it when you see divekick, but it takes some reaction.
S.hp also works at long range. Might trade at mid-range in Guile’s favor. Backfist is good for longer ranges if they try to nj over boom and close a bit of distance with divekick.
I think Yun is a lot easier to fight than Yang from my personal experiences cos Yang has a lot more options and his rekka can be fadced into ultra. He can also crossup Guile all day and there’s not much options Guile has against his crossup. He also has his teleport which is really disadvantage to Guile as only cs.lp is 3 frame. I don’t know which it is but his jump hp/mp also stuffs quite a lot of Guile’s AAs.
And I found that if you really wanna punish ex lunge punch hard, you’ll have to anticipate and jb instead of nj as Yun’ll recover in time to SRK. I think Yun is like lower health and faster version of Rufus with a command grab.

For those shotos who empty jump into c.mk, you can just walk in front as they land in their c.mk range, crouch, then stand block to bait and punish with sweep. I used to get hit by this a lot too. If you use s.mk at max range, then it’s quite safe too as only empty jump SRK can punish it hard.
The more I play AE, the more I think airthrow is really fucked in AE. Even nj.hp does a better job now.
