SSF4 AE 2012 Gen Match-ups & Strategies (New)

TYVM. LP/EX Headbutt being unpunishable without super (and EX with super) seems to be a huge pain in the ass. I’ll try following your advice.

I checked my pool (B5) and the most notable player seems to be velociraptor (Gouken). Hopefully I can get out of pools, but then Fuudo & PR Rog are waiting for me if I go to winners, and Xian & Sako are waiting for me if I go to losers.

Dude “they cannot dodge what they cannot see” they haven’t played street11 a seasoned Gen player if there is one. so show them why you have the most awesome gen avatar

Fuudo is a pussy ass VF player, Sako is good at execution but otherwise lol meh, Xian overrated gen player, PR Rog plays Balrog so fuck him.

ARE YOU EXCITE?!

^ That’s some positive thinking.

I’ll try my best

There’s an Australian player over there by the name of Somniac who is pretty legit. I heard he beat Justin Wong somewhere in the early stages, though I am not 100% sure.

Got a FT10 upcoming against a really strong Blanka. Any advice?
I really need a safejump setup on him, his godlike reversal ex balls are pissing me off.

forward throw, mantis dash cMP jump mk is a universal 4 frame safe jump.

That setup’s not universal. Assuming you time it right, it doesn’t work against a large portion of the cast with slower wakeup speeds off that throw, including Blanka. It also creates the exact same timing as dashing forward twice, but dashing lets you use an input buffer to make the timing super easy. The advantage to the c.MP setup is that it’s more ambiguous than a neutral jump.

The two good Blanka safe jump setups I know:

  • Forward throw, dash, crane c.MP, mantis jump in. You could also use mantis s.LK, but that can’t be plinked.
  • HK Gekiro (or LK with no quick rise), finish with his eyes equal to Gen’s eyes or slightly higher, jump once, whiff an attack in the air, stance change during your landing frame buffer (to get the 5f animation), jump in with the other stance.

The timing of that second setup can be modified to work against every reversal that can be safe jumped. If you’re good at controlling the finishing height, it’s actually very easy because the rest of the timing’s all buffered or just holding up.

I forgot about the different wake up times, thanks for clearing that up.

Tks for the tip. All right I thougth it might be the hardeset safy jump for gen… very hard to excute and should be very precise. And even if you do it well, blanka can chose the rainbow roll to escape…:(
Sorry for my poor English.
By the way are you learning Chinese? I saw AE gen is my favoirate.
The safe jump after gekiro seems nice…As it don`t need to plink anything. And it is easy to whiff normal in the air… also keep the same posion to the blanka…
谢谢你 YEB

I always do a s.MP after the safe jump to stop the rainbow roll. I just time it like I’m going for a combo or a guard string.
我学了三个半月的中文了。 我的中文不好。

it seems our community is growing more and more multicultural… Gens everywhere! houzi22是中国人吗?

是啊,你好 Yeb… 很喜欢你evo2009的视频,虽然已经过去很久了。
For the safe jump against Blanka. It is really easy to do and useful… Far more easier than the safe jump after throw… Tks.

中文不容易学啊,加油吧,有问题可以来找我哦:)
“mp” good idea …

Err, so does it work against Blanka or not cause those two statements contradit each other.

Lesson learned in EVO: Do not crouch tech against Gouken.
I just wish I realized that during the actual match.

lol, get that parry in your face lol!
