It’s the middle of the night and I’m pretty bored so I’ll ask for help.

I’ll start off with the question:
What SS team is for me?

I’ve played em all:
MSS - If you haven’t noticed I hate Magnus
Santhrax - I like, but I hate it when pros always rush me down and snap in commando. My commando isn’t completly horrible though, I just don’t like losing a whole team in 1 attack (I’m talkin bout the snap out)
Matrix - I like this team too, but when it comes down to my cyke I might as well get of the stick cuz my Cyke is horrible.
SScable - Cable’s AA isn’t isn’t all that, plus it hardly connects in midair, and my cable isn’t all that bad, but still sux.

I’ve been stickin with SScable cuz my Cable is better than my Commando and Cyke
and I can’t think of any other worthwhile AAA’s

I’m stuck between Matrix and Santhrax, whish 1 is better for a scrub like me?

well learn to safely call captain cammando and try to avoid him getting snaped or assit killed etc. i dont know whats better for a scrub, but go with santhrax over matrix until u learn all the comboes that u can link off a cyclops assist hit

but there are other worthy SS teams.

storm/sent/doom
storm/sent/ironman

OMG, I can’t believe I forgot about SScammy.

Those are some good teams, but I’m planning on going to Evo West and World.
and I know you know I’m gonna need a high tier team.
I’m gonna atleast try those teams though.

Sentinel/Storm/Tron is funky. Its not as good as the team with Capcom but its still funky.

go with capcom, and play a shitload of matches, until you understand how to fight with him. A snapin of capcom doesnt always equal death for you. You improve your blocking skills, you learn to fight with capcom pressure tactics, and then dhc whenever.

This team is too strong than without capcom. Once you see the damage and wreckage he helps cause, you too will be on the santhrax bandwagon!

I had the same question a while back, except I love magneto, just mine gets beasted by santhrax. So I hope to learn santhrax now to come back with magneto.

s\s guile is beastly.

when you are using santhrax, some people would rather have capcom snapped in than sentinel. if you lose capcom, you still have americas favorite DHC

Matrix in my opinion is the Best team in the game.

Why? because both assist give you continous Rushdown Strings, The team doesn’t get countered by either Doom/Tron, and it fights every match up well, it doesn’t have a single BAD match up.

Rushdown Strings with Storm on point.

Drones Assist

Nj, Tri jump d/f lk, mk, Hk+Drones, land, dash c.lk, c.mp, S.mk, Drones hit.

On hit or block this strings keeps you in position to rerush, or go into her Tri jump infinite on hit.

However sometimes you can’t tri jump to hit someone open, but you can dash in, so what else can you do?

Cyclops AAA

Dash in, c.lk, s.mp, s.mk+Cyc, hit or block you are in positon to either rush agian on block, or dash after cyc hits, and sj hk, dash f, lk, hk(to break fly screen and send them into the corner). Or intead of hk to cause FS, then do sj hk, dash f, lk, mk, LA xx LS.

These team is so great because it gives you options at all points, and it has simple, yet effective counters for almost all situations, it doesn’t get stopped by trap teams(Clock, and Duc). Tron Pro. assist gets beaten aswell.

The team is pure balance. It is versitly on all points. The only Con to this team is that you have to be Good to use it well. Because it doesn’t Dominate a match up, you are working for a victory everytime, but you don’t lack the tools to do it ever. Santhrax has the Best match up vs Msp, but then when msp turns into Mst, you will be backing up alot, and forced into points where you have to just block Mag out, or hit him before he touches you all day.

Doom just juggles Capcom all day, S/D will just pop him once, and do damage with WW2 bombs while keeping whoever it is on point locked down.

Then when you have on of the best assist on point in the game, Cyc.

Cyc/Projectiles equals tools to Pin down/Run away. I would rather have someone else explain this part(Mixup) because I don’t think i know enough about him to give a good explaination. However i will say that learning how to “follow” Runaway characters with him is important, and Also learn how to stop Mag from rushing him all day(Gene splice+ Assist.)

i personally recommmend good ol santhrax, or sscable if you are funky enough.

santhrax matrix and SScable are obvioulys top tier teams.

some ppl try and be differnet or want a challenge or something and pick a low tier team but ppl forget about mid tiers. espcially if u have a god/god/mid tier those teams can roll with the big boys and they usuualy have a lower functionality in one area but they have some quirky property that ppl forget how to handle. like SScammy has invincible AAA. If sent does a Random HSF to lock down u can call cammy assist and just hold block and cammy will knock him out of HSF. same with storm doing random hail storms to gain block damage or control the pace of the match. plus they may be used to capcoms assist and forget how to handle the tracking of her AAA.

other examples are God/God/top tier.

like having ironman as a 3rd character, with the high tron-like damage assist that brings them towards u for extra combobilitiy. plus if they call an assist u can call ironman and his assist will bring their assist to u and do damage.

these quirky teams probably loose they overall prowess and rating but like one element of their gameplay increasese significantly

SSCable, Matrix and Santhrax are possibly the three best teams in the game…

SS is so broken… you could have just those two and dominate the fuck out of people.

i would say 1. Matrix, 2. Santhrax, 3 MSS,

SScable turtles too much, and cable aaa ain’t great.

Yeah, MSS is a great fucking team… just… you have no anti air… unless you’re new school and run drones… but bleh…

to make up for the no AAA, you have to play really good positioning. You CAN’T get lockdown for more than 2 sec. if you do…Done.

the good thing about the team is the comeback factor of S/S, and the quick kill factor with Mag/Rp.

you have to really learn how to use storm- A assist with mag to create openings, and go through assist, also counter call Rp vs Commando AAA.

But to me, Matrix is the best team in the game, it doesn’t get counter, it’s too balanced & versitly.

Santhrax gets countered by Tron/Doom, more tron than doom, but Bh/Cable/Doom can really be tough to beat. Same with MST, aaaaaaaaah the pain of Sandwiches.

Matrix just doesn’t get countered, it doesn’t have a match up that it wrecks, but it doesn’t have a match up were it gets wrecked.

MSS or die… i love that damned team. you get good with that team, you get good with any team because you are now the blocking master of t3h universe!

s\s can have a hard time with cable based teams or cable as a 2nd character. Its easy to get smashed by scrub if your not paying attention or not taking your time.

s\s\cable gives you double gameplan. If your dhc doesn’t land, you always have alpha counter ahvb, then guard break the next guy and chunk some life off.

thrax\ matrix\ sscable are all debateable for which one can be @ the top imo. They’re all good.

s\s\guile is up there though. Guile AA takes out flying sent anywhere if the other sent is grounded. That flash kick is a one of a kind angle thats really useful and it has really good priority.

not to mention that guiles priority is god like. His normals can beat out stroms op 4 and j.rh gives flying sent problems. Guiles c.fp is redicuously good pratcially beats the top 4 clean iirc. His qcb+kk super is invincible and leads to easy dhcs, he also has an air super which is another plus if he needs to get out.

Matrix rapes magneto based teams.

Matrix just doesn’t get countered by assists.

example: Msp vs Santhrax 4-6
Mst vs Santhrax 6-4
Msp vs Matrix 5 - 5
Mst vs Matrix 4.5 - 5.5

Over all i think Matrix is the Best because of Balance.

Scrub gives S/S teams a run for there money of course, Good Cable, and Sentinel is tough to get in on, but it makes the game that much better.

MSS > SSCable :smiley:

I think if you have a better Sentinel, play Santhrax. If you have a better Storm, play Matrix. I don’t think many people can get away with playing SSCable.
