you have me all wrong bro… i never said anything about any post not involving street fighter being taboo. within a site supposedly dedicated to fighting games, i’d expect the main topic of discussion to be fighting games. what im trying to convey is that if you come to this site for nothing more than social networking and discussing the pimple that you found on your ass this morning… there are many more forums out there suited more towards you.
warlock… three things are keeping me from verbally raping you. 1) im tired of arguing 2) i’ve been up since 4am 3) i am in the engineering field as well… all i can say is that in the 2 and a half years between my join date and yours(though you will probably claim to have an older name)… this site turned from what was considered the quintessential place to come for strategy, videos, and events with a bit of chatting between ppl regarding anything other than SF to a place where you might find some links to other sites with vids/info and a few sentences of useful info in every 100 posts. the irony in all this is i knew the original general discussion mod when he lived here in savannah, and remember him saying nearly the same thing i am now regarding the forums turning to garbage, but 3-4 years ago.
but what if that person is a Premium Member? i guess they should go to a place thats more suited to them, right?
anyway, i agree with this list. most of the people on there are pretty strange/cool. but there are a ton of us who are regulars who don’t make much noise but have been around for a while, i.e. soup or man, Dataika, P. Gorath, Slide, myself, et al. the truth is, i don’t try and make e-friendships on here because i’d much rather meet some of you fools in person.

-As with most pranks, this started out just being something to entertain myself and others. I eyed the forums since 00 but never joined until 01, and for a couple of months posted and just did the same old. This grew very tiring though =( i started realizing how much of a sausage fest SRK is and how little ass half the people on here got, so i wanted something to "spice up" their internet lives (on srk at least). I would start at first using this handle saying i was sexyzeldie 2 maybe 3 weeks after i joined, but the smart ones caught on and said HEY MAN I SAW YOU POST NOT TOO LONG AGO WITH THE NAME EDDY AT THE BOTTOM. This of course put a dent in the stupid little idea, and i made zeldie her own screen name. I was 13 when sexyzeldie was first introduced to the world, and i could say i was a pretty smart 13 year old, but the problem was little slip ups that caused the smart guys on this forum (your all smart but some are exceptional) like soup or man to catch me dead on. So back then the moderator you would look out for was akumachan, because she would give no warnings, just ip ban your ass and laugh about it with guys like HVB (who was a cool guy). anyway back to the story, so at this point i just started with this stupid HI GUYS IM NEW HERE <3<3<3<3<3 thread, and without a doubt i had 2993091 members PMing me with stupid shit like A/S/L and OMG YOU PLAY MVC AND YOUR A CHICK?! OMGOOMGOMG!! then came the pictures, i used like 3 pictures of DIFFERENT girls and some people thought it was the same person. (If anyone still has those pics PLEASE post them up). Then i just started making random threads about the stupidest shit, mostly ddr and commenting on shit i never heard of. Then this guy yushiro floods my PM box with a million questions and ASKS ZELDIE OUT (over the net...) of course i needed to fuck with that dude, he was hurting himself by being such an idiot. this is when it got interesting...
-Next came the FLAME WARS, in one corner you had zeldie and yushiro battling SRK over zeldies gender. Now all the smart people caught on by now, but i was royally screwed when one of the moderators logged my ip on both names, then showed it to the forum. then everyone was going mad, and i think i made an insult towards a bunch of people then A CHAN said thats it and she took my ass straight to banville. This made a temporary leave for zeldie, who would be back in 2 or 3 months with an even better run.

I’d post there more, but FGD has gotten pretty boring, with SK the angry mod closing down any threads that could possibly have interesting drama. all the threads there are ho - hum now, especially since making threads about strategy/tactics are not allowed (but the actual strategy forums are dead). There is absolutely nothing wrong with people posting GD stuff in GD. I mean, fighting games are great and all, but there IS other stuff to life. And sometimes (although it may only be 1 out of 20 threads) there is actually some useful stuff to be found in GD. Just the other day I made a “NEW Super Mario Brothers” thread, and everybody is discussing the game in there. Nothing wrong with that.
However, what I find issue with are people who post in GD, pretty much have NOTHING to do with Street Fighter or the rest of the SRK community, and then name threads like this incorrectly. I’m sorry, but it really IS a slap in the face to be making stuff like “THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON ON SRK” and then see people nominating posters, who nobody has any idea are, outside of General Discussion. It’s just plain disrespectful to myself, other Street Fighter players, and the owners of this website, to be so ignorant, when you think that people that do random things on a forum that pretty much amount to nothing in the real world…not even factoring in the REAL purpose of this site!..are more important than real-life tournament organizers, top players, and other influential people in the community. Which is why I requested this thread title be changed, and it WAS.
Sometimes I get the feeling that people in GD don’t realize that if it wasn’t for Street Fighter, there would BE no SRK. If all tournaments suddenly stopped, the Cannons would shut down Shoryuken.com and that would be the end of it. I’ve heard people arguing in places like #srkgd on MIRC that GD keeps SRK alive…that’s absolutley insane, GD is such a side-note to anything important on this website that I find that idea ludicrous. SURE some GD posters are PREMIUM MEMBERS, but if EVOLUTION stopped existing, the Cannons would have no reason to continue running this site. You don’t REALLY think that about 40 people who donate 10 bucks a year are keeping this site alive, do you?
BUT as I said, nobody in this thread has really gone out of line or said anything ridiculous or disrespectful. The thread title was renamed. SO, it’s all good. What’s the matter? Give it a rest.
But a lot of GDers support the scene in their own way. For example of lot of peeps in GD have bought premium (bought premium for someone else) shit like that. That money should be going towards keeping SRK up and running and tournaments right?
So GDers may not be top players and might not be that ‘notable’ outside of GD but they are still supporting probably. So who loses?

Wow that’s pretty far fetched. If you came to GD more often on a regular basis, you would know that a lot of the people do play Street Fighter (and any related game) as well as countless other games and compete/used to compete in tournaments. How can I say that, well I can pretty much tell who the GD posters are just from seeing the SN’s on a constant basis and I only see you here when you want to complain about stuff like you’re doing now.
Personally I use to post in the NW Forums when I lived in the NW, but a lot of people that I played with like Rowtron, Codylicious, SLA, Rattana and others don’t post much anymore from what I’ve seen. So for me it’s like “what’s the use” in posting there anymore? Other people who are regulars on whatever forum they frequent, stick to those forums so what’s wrong with GD posters sticking to GD?
GD is fun and we do play fighting games, but if you feel disrespected because stuff you feel is important was overlooked in a list designed for “Infamous/Famous GD POSTERS”, then on behalf of GD I can say most people on GD and myself included don’t give a fuck how you feel. That’s just the way we roll here.
GD posters do post in other forums, you probably just don’t pay them any mind because regular GD posters aren’t “serious” gamers to the rest of SRK. Don’t make accusations or assumptions and stop being butt hurt cause of lists designed for fun.
haters from fgd dont seem to realize its not that the majority of GD posters dont want to play fighting games, its just that arcades are DEAD. you can only beat up the computer so many times. if you interviewed the majority of posters here about the fighting game(s) they play, they’d know their shit such as tiers, bread and butter combos, good matchups, counter teams, good players, etc. so whats with all this hate?
so unless you happen to live in the few areas which actually HAVE arcades you should not be posting on shoryuken? bullshit!
