Result: Shadowz213 wins 5-4
Pros:
Really good use of DP’s, you did a good job of using the DP on my HSs, but sometimes you traded with it, so you might wanna work on the timing a bit so you always beat it out. And don’t try DPing the EX HS. But pretty good reaction time. Very patient and you didnt make many mistakes. You also did an excellent job of comboing into the Ultra off the SRK, and made me afraid to jump in, unless i knew it was safe.
Cons:
You used a bit too many tatsu’s, especially considering i kept stuffing most of them with s.HK. If you’re going to use tatsu’s against Bison you should use the tatsu’s in mid-air. The HK version (i think) stuffs bisons HS and DR if timed right. Or even a simple j.MP, or j.MK couldv’e stopped the HS and DRs. Lastly I’d say you need to find an answer to bisons crossups once he knocks you down. Not sure what ryu can do there, but maybe focus attack-back dash couldv’e saved you some damage you were taking on my crossups.
Overall:
It was a GREAT match, really hype. It literally felt like EVO 2010 in my house, lol. I was dissappointed in myself cuase i had him down 3-1, and let him mount a comeback. but tight matches like that I think bring out the best in you sometimes, when your back is against the wall and all you have left is a sliver of health. Eventually the set went to the 10th and final game, final round and if i remember correctly we both were on our last hit, so it couldve went either way. But props to Shadowz, he deserves the win, and im impressed he kept his game together the whole time - shit was a marathon! Some ppl would’ve let their game slip after going down 3-1, and than when it was 4-3 me, you still played solid and came out with a clutch win to tie it up.
So i hope i could help out and could teach ya somethings about bison. I sure learned a few things by playing ya!

**Tournament update! **
Thanks for everyone who got finished with their Round 2 games. Unfortunately we do have a slight delay in the current tournament. Sabez30 will not be available to play until next Tues, so we’re going to have to wait it out. Some of the other remaining players are also gone for the weekend so we’ll just have to bear with it.
With the new Round 1 rules, I think we can probably start a new tournament and get some more people in and let those who didn’t get to play loser’s bracket in the first tourny another chance to play.
Right now, I think with single elim, we can do weekly tournaments and keep it exciting. With single elim, there is a slight luck factor, but I think that makes it a little more interesting. We don’t want to keep seeing the same guy win every tourny anyways.

^^yeah that sounds good. Just keep FT5. im loving that right now. Makes for a lot better matches when you got time to adapt and see who can really hang in there for a marathon battle.
but i’ve been having a ball playing everyone, and hearing the good/bad feedback on my gameplay. So hope it continues.
I also will not be around this weekend, going to an offline tournament in NJ. So ill be back on Monday.

That shouldn’t be a problem. There’s plenty of East Coast guys that will easily fit your schedule.
Round 1’s will still be open anyways so you can pretty play anyone that wants to be in the tourny as well. I suggest IRC for finding matches for the tourny.
You frustrated the hell out of me. Don’t know how, but it seemed like those first three matches, you guessed right everytime you got up. Everytime i tried to combo you I got dp’d and everytime I tried to bait you I got thrown. Be careful with those dp’s, though, man. Once I calmed down a bit and got out of my dp everything rage, I got those 2 wins mostly just punishing whiffed/blocked dps.
Got a question for you, though. You fell out of EX hurricane kick 3 times in a row. Has Akuma got an escape out of that or was it just coincidence?
yea weird thing its not akuma. but sometimes ryus ex hurricane fails to do the full damage and the knock down at the end. its happened to me a few times i dont kno what causes it. maybe the range that u hit me at?
But yea that wasnt akumas doing i just happened to teleport out of it when it whiffed me.

Damn! Watching my replay again, I was pretty out of hand and reckless with my EXGhands that night. I was on a mild dose of goofballs but I should know better. I should propably clean that up a little bit.
I wish I could control when I play stupid and when I play smart. I don’t think I was playing that smart vs you that night.
Yea, it’s just a glitch. Threw me for a loop, though. Usually happens when I c.mk into it. Those were all c.hp x ex hurricane punishes that you fell out of. Very rare, and it happened 3 times in a match.

As you saw though, I didn’t get that many knock downs on him. Too many fireballs left me to have to jump to at least get near. And flat is not a move that you really want to be using on Ryu while he is standing up. I jump on his wake because Id rather be safe on wake up. But I wasn’t playing too smart that night so I guess it went out the window.
1.Try developing a basic footsie game, gief is a monster and has the health to spare.
2.Try and chip some life out of your opponent with standing :mp: it’s a fantastic poke.
3. When landing a crouching :lp: try going into Cr.:lp: x2 Cr.:lk: Ex-Green Hand for the knock down. This will give you more mix up opportunities.
4. Try and Be a little bit more sneaking when setting up for your SPD’s.
5. Get some pressure in with pokes so you can squeeze one out here and there. You scare them with one SPD and make them panic when you land a second.
6. Also try and bait out some counter hits with Lariat so you can get out a Ex-Green Hand for more damage.
7. When you get Ultra don’t push to get it out right away. Sit on it for a bit and force your opponent to play really safe so you can mount an offense.
8. Be a little more patient if something doesn’t work take a second to rethink your game plan or aim for some more poking to soften them up.
9. You were doing great with the Headbutts. Just keep in mind that it’s an excellent option for trading hits since it does a shit ton of stun. And if it lands you can link into Ex-Green hand for a stun.
10. When Crossing up try and force a 50/50 on people with either a throw or Lariat it’s a nice mix up and if they guess wrong you get another cross-over set up.
11. Gief and also Grab limbs with his SPD so if you see something coming out try and SPD it if the distance in wrong in their end.

a matchup i personally hate for many reasons:
Lariat beats out headbutt clean every time
lariat beats out buttslam 80% of the time, 20% if you land right on the head you can win or trade.
Only ways to beat lariat: j.HP from far away, neutral jump HP if he’s a little closer, neutral jump HK (belly attack yes) if he’s really close.
On the ground, standhing HP beats larait clean. If you block the big lariat while crouching, there is a second of lag at the end, so you can punish it w/ HB or the otherwise useless cr.HK
Lariat beats out ultra if he starts doing it at the same time or after ultra comes out (his invincibility lasts longer, ridiculous). However, if you do ultra on reaction you will beat it out.
Zangiefs aerials will beat out headbutts a lot of the time, so it’s not a reliable anti air.
Basically, you should never be using headbutt in this match unless you are punishing something like a whiffed 360 attempt.
Never ever let zangief jump and land in front of you unless you feel like eating that damned ultra. Headbutt doesn’t leave the ground fast enough so even if you get it out a little faster, you’ll still eat it.
I have no idea what to do against the damn j. down+HP crossup --> lariat BS other than to say some prayers and hope he messes it up. Only thing I do is not let him get close.
Abuse the neutral jump HP to stop zangief from getting too close.
