Thanks, you intimidated me over the net. Ur great with Honda and he is my scariest match up. Is it safe to play footies even with him? That neutral jump to HHS is what stops me from wanting to play footsies. Can I SPD your long st.HK on wiff?
I even feel that footsies is my strong point but I cant foot vs Honda. I just don’t know how I can even begin to pressure Honda once he has guage. A lesser Honda i might have faired okay. I have along way before Ill be stomping any Hondas around your hood.
Dang man, u made me feel like noob. GGs though, glad I at least got 1.
Good fireball game, you kept me guessing for a while.
Gotta work on those BnB’s I got away too many times after you linked cr.:lp: x2 into nothing.
Liked the Throw pressure you seen I had a hard time teching and you exploited it for a bit.
Not enough cross-ups after a knock down. Try and make it ambiguous so I can’t tell what side to block on.
If try and predict my Standing :hk: and Dragon it, it has a really slow start up.
Try not to Dragon as much off of my Ass slam and if it whiffs make sure you can spare the meter to FADC it and recover.
You did good with landing ultra’s after a trade in the air but instead of back dashing always move forward.
Gotta get them poke’s out there, when in close Ryu is really fierce with strings and such.
If you see me FADC a move try and Dragon Punch it, most likely it’s going to be an Oicho Throw.
Don’t be afraid to test out the waters and mount an offense. After a knock down try crossing me up with a Tatsu if I guess wrong you’ll score another knockdown.
Sorry guys, I didn’t record any matches tonight. Didn’t have my laptop out.
VS Snip3rBlad3X
Very good Fei Long with a super aggro style with plenty of mix ups. Thanks for the extended games to give me some Fei Long experience. Although the attack lines were mostly the same, small changes along with a surprise flame kick kept me guessing. I’ll figure it out eventually, lol. Not really anything I can tell you that you didn’t already know about your game.
VS EyeLoveSF4
Good games again. Sorry for the drama in the middle. Long story there. lol. I noticed a lot more AA this time with cr.HP. Good stuff. I just kept jumping to see if you’d AA me this time around. I missed a lot of my AA’s though. The Tatsu after your FB is somewhat predictable. You also tend to neutral jump and FB after which also gave me a few free jump ins. If we had a good connection I think we could really benefit from each other sessions.
VS kyarisan
Great corner pressure along with neutral jumps that kept me from Tatsu’ing out. Your timing with FB, Hazanshu was also good and made it difficult for me to block. Also, good resist of trying to predict my FB’s with it which prevented me from focusing it and punishing. When trying to close the distance, I would recommend walking up only. When I jumped back I was trying to bait a jump to punish with SRK FADC Ultra.
Mr SNK
VERY solid Honda. Very punishing combos and clutch execution when it came down to the wire. I wasn’t sure how to get in any damage in the beginning other than AA your jump ins, which was rare. I’m not sure if throwing after the butt stomp was the best thing to do, but it was the only thing that kind of worked for a few rounds. Bulk of my damage to you was either from AA SRK’s or throws. I was trying to beat your s.HK with cr.MP. Not sure if that works since I didn’t ever get you with. I hope to get some more games from you in the future.
All good I still have execution problems. Just remember when you land something timing is important but most of all you can make time slow down once you open the door to a BnB or Ultra Set-up. A little bit a training mode practice can go a long way.
Solid Ryu. Smart use of focus attacks were destroying my approach, never used it on my fireballs which is good since I’m trying to break focus behind it. You were beating my ass pretty badly so I can’t really explain what you need to work on, but GG’s, hopefully we can play later to see if I’ve improved any since the last time.
vs DoubleDistilled (Black Alpha):
Nice Rufus, when I first walked into the match I had no clue what to do so you raped me for free, but we started having some good matches after I got my feet wet in the matchup. It’s a matchup I definitely love doing and need more experience in, I’d love to play you again sometime. I can’t point out any major errors but I didn’t feel too pressured to break grabs after your dive kicks, it’s something that really keeps the other guy on his toes but we talkedabout that and how it might be an online issue so yeah.
vs newbkills:
Great matches man (chun vs ryu), we didn’t get a ton in but we were going even, felt like you had an upperhand on me though. I started baiting DP’s after a while, so once the first wakeup DP becomes baited you need to remember to never do one again the rest of the match unless it’s as AA. We should definitely play again sometime though, had a lot of fun.
Anyone who wants to play: Remember I have a mic and I can record at anytime with a direct feed if you want to be critiqued or whatever, we can do a FT5 and I can put it on youtube so keep this in mind when you want to have some gameplay footage of yourself :).
EDIT: I’m looking for Rufus, Viper, Honda, Dhalsim players if there are any players who use these characters please msg me! I’d love it if you had a mic too, to give me matchup advice or tidbits about how to deal with some of the things your character does, and I’ll try to do the same (unless you’re pretty familiar with the chun match of course).

we had some pretty good matches man. you fell victim to A LOT of focus attacks you even said you get hit by too many so i guess you may just want to continue to keep any eye out for them, it took me a while to stop getting hit by so many. I think you would be much more effective with boxer if you applied more pressure i didnt feel hardly any pressure while we were playing which allowed me to pretty much control things. I generally have a hard time against boxer and its mainly because i am constantly being attacked. Your execution looked like it was pretty good, i saw you miss you bnb a couple times but over all when you hit me with a combo starter you finished it and if you had super or ultra you tacked that on as well everytime.

The Brown 0ne vs BEYBass
(chun, blanka, ryu) vs akuma
vs Chun: I tried to bait her ex sbk on wake up, but my timing was off. I jumped too late. Great AA on your part. Also great mixups and tick throws. I need to learn not to try to out poke her…her pokes are mad effective. Nice use of ex hasanshu (sp?) to punish far fireballs.
vs Blanka: Not sure why you’re not using more ex balls to go through akuma’s fireballs. They’re almost always a good idea. Never ball an Akuma with ultra, that’s guaranteed major damage. Great mixups with blanka as well, I thought I’d seen it all, but all the dashing and lp balls and such were confusing as hell.
vs Ryu: I don’t remember everything that happened, but I do remember you didn’t hit confirm before finish c.lk, c.lp, c.fp, hk tatsu. Also, against Akuma, you need to get in closer. Jump vertically over air fireballs, and dash under the ones you can. At close range, you nullify his shaku. Another thing is when I try to meaty you with a shaku up close, you should wake up ultra. Guaranteed hit there, even with ex shaku (at the range I was throwing them).
ggs to you sir, and hope to play more srkers soon.
My links after 2xc.lp were off, but any feedback otherwise will be appreciated. I was also not cancelling any of the c.mks, but again, my execution is off.
I got beat pretty bad. I can’t say whats wrong with your game since it worked perfectly on me. I did want to pressure you more but Gouken’s Back throw into half of my life and Abel’s EX TT scared me off. And sniffing out focus attacks is just something I’ll slowly have to work on. I use TAP too much as it is.
VS Martin Rob
Use Ryu’s low forward alot more vs Balrog. It has priority over ALL my dash punches. (except the EX ones of course) Execution was lacking. I wasn’t hit by one SRK _>ULTRA
**PROS:**Very solid gameplay, good spacing/zoning with hadoukens, nice tick throws, and punished my balls well(no homo, haha). I also like the way you play your Akuma; different than what I’m used to in a good way. Most Akumas just teleport and run away w/ air hadoukens and 3 hit fireballs trying to chip. You incorporated reg hadoukens that I have never seen online and used it to zone.
**CONS:**Sometimes didn’t teleport out of pressure, wasn’t mixing it up much with Akuma’s special dive moves. Sorry, I don’t really know much about Akuma.
Cons: Jumped very predictably. Even though 75% of your jumps were away from me I still always knew when you would jump towards me. Putting yourself in the corner is not something you want to do against any character but especially Balrog.
Figure out which normals interrupt my dash punches and stand your ground. I don’t know much about Sakura but I’m assuming her low forward does the job. Her form of the dragon punch definitely does. There are plenty of options: Focus Attacks, Jabs and other normals, & even jumping straight up. Any of those things would be better than just getting hit by them.
Sakura’s fireball seems to have terrible recovery so I would avoid using it outside of combos or anywhere near someone. Don’t wakeup ultra. Work on the execution. Even when you hit me with her EX tatsu you din’t followup with anything. Not even her 3 hit basketball thingy.
vs ClydeByrd
Infuriating fight. I knew it would be b4 hand. Easily Balrogs worst match-up.
I will say you’re a very different Zangief. Not nearly as much lariot as I was expecting. Great execution. Despite Zangief’s execution requirement being half of what it used to be you still punished me in new ways with SPD.
I tried to be patient and use normals as much as I could. It was working till I’d mess up just one time and get Ultra’d. :crybaby: I know I have to play perfect against Zangief but having that happen 4 fights straight is deflating. After that I gave up. Being careful wasn’t working so I rushed in. And was handed alot more SPD’s because of that. I’ve just accepted that no matter how much I practice Zangief will abe tough.
Cons: Alot of neutral jumps I guess. In my later less focused fights I got about 75% of the damage I did to you from rush uppers. I’m guessing you had your reason though since you didn’t stop doing it even though I hit you with plenty of uppers.

You definitely need to work on your BnB combos into ultra, that would definitely give you help against me in terms of damage output and will probably net you some more round wins. You want to keep a closer distance than you normally would, you would just wait for me to fireball and then block it, that doesnt do you any good. Just walk through and FADC the fireball and sit at like TAP distance or something and charge, fish for your EX dash punches (I think this is good advice, but I suck using Boxer so take it for what it’s worth).
I was having an unusually difficult time with his BnBs today. I’m going to be spending some time in the training room tomorrow. :xeye:
One of my big problems shows through brilliantly during these matches. When I screw up execution on something simple I tend to get frustrated and throw out random headbutts and rush punches. I need to work on staying cool.
The other big problem that I wanted to show with these videos is my inability to anti-air jump-ins and escape crossups.
Balrogs AAs are supposed to be amazing but it seems like the timing and angle has to be perfect. I’m always just slightly too late on my reaction or I misjudge the angle and my opponent goes sailing over my AA or lands safely in front of it.
And against crossups I just have no idea what to do. A couple of times I tried to FA dash out of them but I guess my inputs were too early (I’m going to have to figure this one out in training mode). The rest of the time I either tried to block or EX Headbut out of the way.
As for Kyarisans game, I can’t really find anything to criticize, I don’t know Chun-Li’s game at all(these matches will be good for me). I may suggest experimenting with throwing Rog out of TAPs and far off Dash Punches especially the EX versions, they can all be thrown. Most of the time you successfully jabbed me out of them but if you can throw it will do significantly more damage and score a knockdown.
Kyari’s corner pressure is extreme, and his mixup was excellent.
Balrog’s cr FP (i think?) should work well against Chun as AA, especially when she’s trapped in the corner and tries to wall jump out or something. Also his Dash Upper, if spaced and timed properly, is good if she jumps backwards. Remember that FA dash through fireball timing is going to change with lag.
