Record Matches: No
Dedication: To be able to go to tournaments playing Ryu
Characters: Ryu, Sakura
Strengths: Somewhat execution
Weaknesses: Wake ups, tech throws, blocks, match ups
Characters Good VS: None
Characters Bad VS: None
What I Need to Practice:Mostly everything

I’d like to join. My only question is this. I want to concentrate on my RYU. Will I be able to play others who aren’t RYU? Obviously I don’t want loads of RYU mirror matches. Is this post situated in any of the other threads? Anyway:

XBL Gamertag: DrunkenMarkster
Location: NY
Headset: Yes (at least I think so, I just found the adapter that came with the stick)
Record Matches: Yes (can do)
Dedication: Want to get to G1 on Xbox live (small steps!)
Characters: Ryu main by far, sometimes Abel or Sakura
Strengths: Nothing too technical, cross ups, rush downs
Weaknesses: No patience
Characters Good VS: Shoto’s, Abel
Characters Bad VS: Balrog/Boxer, Bison, Blanka (all the chars beginning with B!) and Honda, the list goes on…
What I Need to Practice: Execution, Better Mixups, FADC Ultra, Match Ups

Oh and take a look at my videos to get a sense of my scrubbiness

Pretty sure it’s been advertized in all the subforums. There are other players, but there are a lot of Ryus.

Just a reminder ya’ll.

If you people need Gief matchup work just get at me. I really don’t write that many reviews and such and Im always down for nice scrim. If you want a critique ask in advance and I’ll make sure to remember stuff. I’ve been playing matchups with people here frequently, I just don’t post.

Add me ClydeByrd on XBL if ya wanna get jacked up!!!

Don’t let our location in the Ryu thread fool you. We have all kinds of characters here. However, you should still expect to play quite a few Ryus seeing as he is hands-down the most popular character.

I understand mirror matches are lame, but don’t avoid them. If you want to be competitive you have to be able to beat Ryu since you’ll see multiples of him in every tournament you play. Ryu, Akuma, and Sagat are my most comfortable matchups and I like it that way, so should you.

Also, I’m looking for Rogs and Blankas to play against (especially Blanka). You don’t have to be good I just need practice.

had a short but sweet set with bahn solid chun anyone want to play my akuma, ken, sagat get at me

thx. your ken is solid/challenging!!

thanx accept my friend request no homo

Vs. DaMoney

Hey man, don’t worry, I wasn’t offended that you left, I was just worried you got upset at something I did. I picked a couple of random characters at the start and I know it would bother me if someone didn’t play serious against me, so I thought you might have left cause I was goofing off.

Rog
I want to get a solid session in just against your Rog. I think you were just off a little last time I played you cause you showed some substantial improvements from 2 days ago. You played an all around solid game, nothing stood out as awesome to me but on the other hand I can’t find much to criticize. A lot of your dash punches were real obvious and I think you were better off keeping pressure with pokes and tick throws than throwing out a random possibly unsafe rush, but that’s all I got for you. Your in the right direction, keep it up.
**
Ryu**
I think you’re only fooling around with Ryu (you said you want to main Rog and second Viper) but I’ll go ahead and review him anyways.

Firstly, your use of focus attacks was potentially very good. You did them in the right areas and just rarely enough that I felt they weren’t easily punishable. The problem was, you were following through to level 3 when I was far out of range. I don’t know if you were just overestimating the range or just really hoping I would stick out a fist, but that’s a dangerous habit to get into.

Secondly, think about your Hadokens more carefully. You play Rog enough that you should have a better idea of when it’s safe to fireball. When I start to close the gap and I have super meter, throw an ex hado into the mix and you’ll very often see Balrog ram his dumb yellow glowing ass straight into it. Do this once or twice and you’ll see me stop blasting through your fireballs real quick.

I could talk days about fireballing strategy but since I’m not sure you care about Ryu I’ll leave it at that for now.

Thirdly and finally, the only way your Ryu seemed to know how to stand up was fist first. The first couple of rounds I kept throwing meaty attacks into you thinking "surely he wont Shoryuken again… ok, surely he won’t Shoryuken the next time…’’. You saw I soon wised up to your shenanigans and for the rest of the match you ate headbutt combos like turkey on thanksgiving. This is the most important bit of advice I can give to a newby Ryu -Shoryuken as a reaction not as a prediction-.

Sorry I had to leave so early, we’ll get a serious set in one of these days. I don’t remember how many bars our connection was, but it seemed real smooth.

VS vaccant1

lolol ryu was my first ever main, and secondary. The only reason i picked him was cuz u were rog, and i hate rog mirrors! But viper is my mess around char. I know i wake up srk but i usually got 2 meters to burn. I have lost some skill w/ my ryu due to my move to rog though, so i am a little nooby. But your rog was solid. Just gotta work on your execution a LITTLE, it was 85%. I cant really say much until we play again because I dont recall any major problems. So next review will be more picky, ggs

Need to work on my vs Akuma / Blanka matchups!

Please find me and add me if you haven’t already!

Also Dhalsims, do we have any?

watched your youtube vidoes

alright you sound like your from Europe so idk if we will get to play any lag free games. if you see me on send a message and we will see how that will play out.
um in your video that vega jumped in way too manytimes unpunished. from what i can tell from watching your video is, for on you need to work on your reaction timing and, dash way more. use dashing to move around as much as possible rather than just walking all the time. Second work on linking your bnb’s(im not sure if c.lp links into c.mk) idk though i dont play ryu. The last things was i notice is that you never use focus attack this shit is vital in getting yourself openings against solid players. Set up focus attacks the same way you settup a tick throw but intstead of a throw hit that focus and crumple some mofos. Well i posted this just in case we dont get to play cause of connection problem(i dont play in 2 bars or even 3 bar connects if i can help it, usually only 4 and 5 bar connects for me, but we will see).

You quoted him yourself:

“Location: NY”

but that might still yield 3 bars.

Just a friendly reminder, if anyone needs practice against Honda, let me know.
XBL GT: Gutabo2
It might be laggy, but I’ll make it worth it!

vs. DaMoney21

ROG
Haven’t played you in a while, that Balrog has come along nicely. You were pretty solid with the tick throws from jab. Decent ground game overall, although you did allow openings by using the occassional unsafe dashes and jump-ins: clean that up.

Overall, you have a lot of potential with ROG, once you cement that ground game, the rest will come. GGs, chief.

I’m going to do a quick recap and setting everything up for the XBL Crew. There’ll be a headcount coming up. For those that are not on the list, send me a pm.

vs. SubZero
You got a nice Viper, but I noticed that you seem to be having problems occasionally with the high jumps. I was impressed by your execution other than that.

You did a good job in landing your seismic punches and performing your BnBs. I don’t have much more to say other than I regret that we didn’t get to play more.
I don’t fight many Vipers so you were quite the breath of fresh air.

does anyone want to play me tommarow around 5 prefarably west coast,or mid west im pretty descent will challenge

midwest here
