Rufus: Really good. When you dive kick I have no idea what to do. You caught me in an ultra almost every round. I’d say don’t reversal messiah kick as much, I just stay at about half sweep distance and jump back roundhouse as you wake up and that usually counters messiah kick. Also too much FA’ing. I was able to get in tons of tatsus. Other than that great. You had some really good reads where you ex snake striked my jump ins.
Abel: Again, too many FA’s. I think you were too preoccupied on getting an ultra in off of one of my fireballs so I put the fireballs in at weird times or just walked up and hit you as you were continually pumping the ultra motion. You also missed a couple ultra setups.
Boxer: Excellent pressure! Maybe a few too many jump ins, but other than that, great.

when i was playing it seemed like you were gonna win alot of the time then i would just get a knock down and like bait something out and then you would eat a fat combo and end up losing. i was able to bait alot of your shoryukens. so really watch out on that cause if you wouldnt have done those you probably would have won. you anti aired pretty good. before i was able to get jump in alot and not get punished but not now. you could still use some improvement there though. everytime i divekick with rufus thats a free shoryu and if you have meter fadc it to ultra. your execution was pretty good. it seems youve gotten alot better. well with that said ggs! ps i just started playing abel
reelsmartkid vs ringored
you had really solid fundamentals. your tick throws were on point you know youre like the only other balrog ive played to throw so much. gs on that because throws are a huge part of balrogs game. i noticed you throw out some unhitconfirmed headbuts. like you would do low short headbut. thats not good cause you can get punished really hard with that. just do jab jab and if it hits dow low short headbut but if its blocked pause a bit and do low strong dash punch or just throw. oh and jump back fierce rapes rufus divekick shennagins. ggs man!
Tournament 2 Loser’s Bracket
The Brown 0ne vs newbkills/wkwong11 (5-2 newbkills)
Ryu/Chun vs Ryu
Good games.
Using Blanka was giving me headaches so I didn’ t use him (was on for quite a while today and was using him pretty much the whole time).
Ryu
You’re Ryu was solid. Good zoning. You also caught me w/ psychic tatsumakis quite a bit. Teched my throws than before so that’s a plus. You used some meters which knocked me down, but you didn’t really apply pressure and just continued to try to zone. I think it’s better to put pressure, but that’s just your game probably. You’re cross up air tatsus were kind of predictable because I remembered that you said you liked to use it, so I guess it would work better against someone else :X. That’s all I remember about what you did…but I remember messing up on a lot of my combos lol.
Afterwords: El Fuerte
You’re mixups were good with Fuerte; got caught in it a few times. I guess you need to work on getting in more easily. Sometimes you were just stuck on the other side of the screen if I remember correctly.
Tourney Match, Loser’s Bracket
vs The Brown 0ne (5-2 newbkills)
Good games again. I was actually surprised you didn’t bust out your Blanka on me. I rarely beat you before when you were using him. Your mix ups with him were real good.
vs Chun
I didn’t see as much poking or corner pressure form you this time which worked very well on me in our previous games. Your j.hp (the one the hits twice if its not hp) also worked on me before. I only saw that jump in like once or twice.
vs Ryu
I think your Ryu has improved since the last time we played. You have good execution minus the one ultra you missed on me in the corner after a cr.mk xx ex tatsu that would have won you the round. Your jump ins with Ryu were a little more predictable than with Chun which made it a little easier to punish. Nice switch to hard hitting combo’s once you knew I couldn’t block.
Overall the matches were very close and really could have gone either way. And I don’t know why we always have lag, I purposely came on when my gf and our in laws were just watching TV.
EDIT: I like how you could do all the basic moves and stuff with a lot of the characters. I think you could have a pretty tough Sagat if you get his links down, too. I just started using Fuerte a little bit this weekend so I’m still learning the ropes.
just had a training session with BEY Bass.
thanks for the advice on using Ryu.
I’ll practice my distance, ranges and whiffing for the next couple of days.
especially when it comes to playing against Akuma.
now I have my lessons to practice this week.
I think you just need to figure out the distance for all your normals, and to make sure you press your advantage when you have it. Try not to whiff as many normals, as those are punishable (like you ultra’ed my whifed c.hk). Watch some Daigo vids and see how he punishes whiffs with c.mk xx ex hado fadc ultra. If that doesn’t convince you of the importance of footsies, nothing will.
Work on your walking c.mk xx hado Bnb. Either hold down slightly longer than you were, or do the qcf motion starting at db. Nice FADC ultra on the f.hp combo. On your wakeup, try not to shoryu unless you can FADC it and I’ve shown that i go for meaties or throws often (like I was doing).
Your teching was improving, so it’s just a matter of understanding tic throw setups and teching when appropriate. You can learn option select teching, but I’m not a fan as it opens you up to frame traps and other shenanigans.
Jump ins. don’t do it Safe jumps or cross ups are fine. Jumping over freballs thrown from the wrong range is also ok. Crossup tatsus would be awesome. Try to AA on reaction more. Good job AAing with his neutral jump normals. Not many do that. If you can’t srk on reaction (harder online), you can always c.hp.
Good luck leveling up dude. Let’s spar again sometime.
I mean, if i focus correctly i can play sometime i just become lenient loose the grip and get swarmed, particulary true vs agressive kens. I’ll always eat a dp out of nowhere cause i thought i was safe to attack, stuff like this. To be honnest, i didn’t make a point since i went to G1. or 5. and there is a lot of stuff i need to do more, like the oh so simple but great cr.mk->hado. Bad at tech throwing aswell, i need some emultation, thanks i’ll try to find people on page 1!!
gg’s last night and thanks for the advice. I am having real problems fighting chun-li, i get overwhelmed very quickly when playing an aggresive chun.
i had real problems reacting to block your hazan shus when you did them in your block strings.
I was definitely letting you jump-in without consequence after those first 2 games. My AA’s still need a lot of work.
When you were Dictator I know you were working on getting your bnb’s down so just keep at it. mix in some throws everyonce in awhile just to keep people honest. Thanks for the games man .
