A really safe Gen, almost too safe. You didn’t take a lot of risks which allowed me to be more agressive on you. I was able to keep you out with DP’s and keep you at the proper distance I wanted towards the end of the matches. I realized Gen’s pokes were better than Ryu’s so I decided that I wasn’t going to win that way. You should have anti-aired me more because I had a really hard time getting in on you otherwise. I was barely able to poke my way in so I you really should have capitalized on that. You burned a lot of meter just to throw me which is a real shame. It prevented you from getting out of my wakeup games because of it. I personally think my mind games took over in the later matches too. Overall, I had to work really hard to beat you. I kept looking for openings to put pressure and you handled it very well for the most part. Just be more careful of your spacing. Also, try to develop more mindgames. It will definitely help you out more when matches drag on.
SabeZ vs. Big Irish Man
You used your Sky High attack really well which almost always hit me. You need to work on your footsies more because you should have been able to win that battle. You tried to poke in between my block strings too often which allowed me to frame trap you. It might work for player who try to walk up and throw, but obviously this caused you to feel the pain; just wait and late tech. You had maybe a 50% rate of getting away from wakeup only because I was option selecting you. Again, just try to take the block string and force a safe reset. Try to develop more wakeup games because I obviously knew the one you were doing since I mentioned it to you. Overall, a very good match, but you just couldn’t keep up with the damage I was dishing out. Hopefully you looked up the Dash Active skill and try to implement that into your game.
I thank you for your words and yes I should of stuck with Akuma and not counter picking a character who I barely use…so thank you. Now I should of did the teleporting with Akuma instead of dp against your gief so thanks on that note and I should of use ways to get out of the corner especially against gief cause he dishes out major damage…
Now for your stuff…the only thing I see is that at times you were backing up alot and I was catching you with the step hk into the low mk into the hadoken then you went back to being aggressive which is what I believe that all gief players should be and that’s aggressive…we should spar more cause I need alot of work to do with my guy Akuma…
oh my lord, if there was ever an opponent with no flaw bizzib, sir, you are him, to me anyway. I’m not that good yet, still trying to get better. I know the wins don’t matter but man i went 0-14 and i got ONE round off of you. I’m sorry but i can’t come up with any constructive criticism for you. Your anti air is solid, defense is really good with very few opportunities to strike. Your offense is amazing, good punishing, also there were barely any windows of opportunities to punish you. Another thing i like is your throwing after the block string, and other great opportune moments to get a throw on me. good matches, hopefully you can give me some tips to get better
ggs man. first off sick honda. now for the good stuff. the rufus vs blanka
and rufus vs honda matchups i dont really know so i cant say to much
on that. but with rufus vs akuma you did good at keeping me out.
and when you went on the offense a big chunk of my life would dissapear
so gs on that. i think your AA game is lacking. i could jump all i want and
not really eat an AA so i guess work on that. but other than that solid akuma.
balrog vs honda/blanka/akuma
now for balrog vs blanka that is such a bad matchup for blanka lol.
i really suggest learning a counter character for that match up.
if blanka does a blanka ball he eats jab dash straight if he does slide
he eats low strong xx headbutt. pretty much anything blanka does gets
beaten so good job for trying. balrog vs akuma. i didnt see you teleport
on wake up. thats one of akumas best things so use that more. and once
balrog gets in your best option is to just teleport because he can stun
akuma very easily. so with this matchup work on better AA and use teleport!
well it was fun playing you. hope to play you again. ggs!

Thanks for the suggestions. I know my friend was sitting there telling me to FA your jump ins and thats one of the things im just trying to get used to. I need to start focusing more on when to focus absorb but my problem is when i do it online against random guy #65 hes like “J.MK, C.LP” And it knocks me out of my FA. I know i have to get used to that and now im actually attempting to use ALOT more hadouken’s. Im also toning down on SRK combo’s and i think ill only use them when I can. I believe that it’ll just take time for me to get used to the FA and the timing of Hadouken’s but i won’t learn jack from people on G1! Though I liked fighting someone who wasn’t cruddy at the game. Great matches and alright.

First off, I’m flattered with your post in saying I have no flaws. If that were the case, I would have won EVO :bgrin:. Fact is, I have many flaws, and you can see in the above matches all these flaws in my game. I think the reason you don’t notice these flaws is because you’re still at the basic level of understanding the game mechanics and Ryu in general.
Firstly, I suggest reading up on some of the stickies here and watching some YouTube videos and practice Ryu’s “bread and butter (bnb)” combos. Ryu is all about a solid ground game. Cut back on the jumping. Your best tool is c.mk, learn the range and practice linking a fireball or tatsu with it. Ryu has the best anti-air in the game, but I think you only anti-aired me once through all our matches. Definitely work on getting the input down through muscle memory and quickening your reflexes so opponents get scared to jump in on you. If you show you can’t anti-air, the match becomes 10x harder for you. Random Ultra’s need to go immediately. I know you caught me with a few out of sheer surprise on wakeup since I’m not used to anyone doing that, but you must not get in the habit of doing that. Practice in training mode to FADC into the Ultra from a dragon punch. It takes a lot of practice but it’s a must learn if you want to get anywhere. Like me, you need to also practice tech throwing. If your opponent is tricky, it’s really tough to do, especially for tick throws, but keep practicing and learn to see situations where your opponent will most likely go for that throw.
I know it may seem like a lot, so I’d suggest to start off just practicing Ryu’s bnb combos in training mode. Have the CPU random or auto-block and execute those links. If the CPU blocks during a string, you mistimed the combo, so it’s a good way to get your timing down. Looking forward to some more battles in the future.
You’re playing a good Ryu. Good pokes, good spacing, good baiting. The only thing I saw wrong was lots of misplaced Shoryukens. I saw a couple come out after block strings which doesn’t make any sense to me unless you were trying for a frame trap, in which case i would pause just slightly longer. Also I saw a few come out and completely whiff. I know from experience that its difficult to judge the distance in the heat of battle, but it will be worth the time to get in practice mode and get a feel for how deep the initial hits of any given combo has to be to get out a Shoryuken and if your not sure than be safe and throw a fireball or Tatsu.
@ Damoney21
One big piece of advice I can give you, and you’ll probably hear it a lot, don’t throw out moves without a purpose. You can win lots of matches by doing nothing more than throwing fireball and poking your opponent until you see him make a mistake, then capitalize on it.
Also like BizziB said, get in training mode and practice your BnB’s and ultra set-ups so when you do see those openings you can do the most damage possible.
Overall you did well, you may not have won any matches but you were just a combo away most of the time.

I’m Sorry dawg. But I did read the first post, it’s just that I can’t get mIRC running on my computer, my anti-viruses keep on blocking it, and I can’t avoid it.
Daigo Jr vsMaple Maniac.
Nothing I can say really because most of the time I got outplayed.
One thing though, try a new way to combo after the cross-over because lp ~ lp xx shoryu fadc xx ultra is just too weak imo.
After playing him iv’e found lots of my weaknesses.
-AA’s
-Reversals
-GROUNDGAME especially. ( Although I already knew that this was my weakest point)
At one point, I just kept spewing out fireballs no matter where I was.
The only thing that was really on point was my FADC combos.
