I always thought loser changes was a gimme. But I’ll make a detailed post on it later. In class now.
Changing anything can only be done on loss.

You’d think that, but I saw Smash tournament videos (for the 3DS version) where I’m fairly sure the winner changed their character at one point too. There is room for reasonable doubt, even if “Change on loss only” is our default behavior.

So how’s it going everyone?
We’ve got less than a week before Smash hits our shores, so I thought this was a good time to bring up a few things
FIRST
I’m going to elaborate a little on some rules for the tournament
Format is Double Elimination, best of 3. Winners, Losers, and Grand Finals best of 5. If you lose one match, you may change character/character’s custom moves and pick new stages. You may not change characters or stages if you are the winner.
You have 10 minutes to connect with your opponent before you are DC’d. This means contacting them, not getting in match. So for example, if you need to go grab a sandwich from your local Wendy’s, bring this up to your opponent and let him know. Delays are frowned upon, but acceptable on occasion. Silence however, is not.
Match making will be done in the chat client Cyntalan linked on the main page. You are encouraged to PM your opponent when you start fighting. This should help reduce clutter in the main room so I can see who’s done what.
SECOND
We will be holding a special meet n greet October 3rd at 8:00 PM EST-11:00 PM EST. Mostly so everyone can play around a little bit, get used to the chat, ask questions, get friend codes, check on connectivity issues, etc. There will be no official tournament, but lets face it: Y’all are gonna be fighting each other left and right anyways, so what do you need me for?
Quick question just to clarify: Upon a loss, you can change characters and moves, right?
