ehh. id look for a new one. the low end DSLRS arent really built like the others. theyre for casual usage. and depending on how used its been before it was refurbed, it might be seeing the end of its days. look for a new one if you can.
id look at spending about 600-700 on a starter set. hope thats not too much to ask from your budget.:wgrin:
yea, ill see if they want to use any of them or something. theyre located like⦠2 blocks down the street from me hehe.
well, some of the close ups are of the men standing by the trucks which are really well lit (they need light to see their panels and stuff) and of course they got their flashing lights and headlights on in the streets. so that sort of helped. most the shots were shot in Tv @ 1/30th. so i was getting apertures of f2(my widest with the lens i was using) and f2.8 a lot. then i did some expsoure boosting in post.
i grabbed my kit lens later to get some wider shots⦠it was ok~
not a big fan of my kit but it still has its purpose in my bag⦠<3 primes tho!
one of the shots I took during my recent trek on the backroads of Marysville, CA. This was taken inside a moving beast-of-a-vehicle, my dbearās Focus. Hah.
I just got my camera (nikon d3000) yesterday and its pretty sweet. Ive been experimenting with the settings and getting used to the camera and it works amazing. Iāll post some pictures soon. Btw, where would you guys recommend getting the 35mm f/1.8 lens?
amazon.com and bhphotovideo.com are the sites i shop from exclusively. if you have a store around your area that sells camera stuff, you should go check it out before you buy anything. its usually cheaper online⦠but if you dont think the price difference is worth the wait⦠then i would usually suggest getting it in an actual store (its easier to return/replace stuff)
^ I use a Canon 40D, a Canon 17-40F4L , a Canon 70-200 F4L, and also a Canon 50 F1.8 and 200 F2.8 which rarely ever get used. Both the L lenses have UV filters on the front for protection and I carry some neutral density filters, so I can get down to 1/15th of a second in daylight.
I also own (but donāt carry) a Canon 230EX(?) Flash. Iāve never needed a flash until that backyard show and then I just made way with my on camera flash. I discussed it with my photo teacher and he said that if I continue to shot no light situations like backyard shows I should invest in an off camera flash tether (I donāt if that whatās called, but I know what it is). It made sense to me, and Iāll probably pick one up after Christmas.
I took these pics when i first got my camera. I do believe i was in āautoā mode when i was messing around and i ended up liking couple of pics i took.
Using a 35mm lens on a DX Sensor is equivalent to a 50mm lens on FX Sensor.
So you wonāt be really getting Wide-Angle.
Back in the day of 35mm cameras, 50mm lens were standard.
50mm lens was the only to cover 35mm format and have good sharpness.
I donāt know how true it is, but 50mm lens is said the 50mm lens is called a ānormalā or āstandardā lens.
Called so because the way it renders perspective closely matches that of the human eye.
Iām a Noob to cameras.
So blooper, you can correct me.
Something of my Post seems to be weird.
Yeah, Iām also a noob on this stuff, but im looking for a wide-range lens. Or is there a mode that simply takes wide-range shoots? Yeah, im still trying to figure it out.
if youāre looking to get wide range on a crop-sensor camera youāll be wanting something in the 10-22mm range. there isnāt a āmodeā for wide angle. if you want āpseudo-wideā, you can look in the 17mm range. there are a lot of good lenses in the 16-35mm/17-35mm/17-40mm range.
the nice thing about crop sensor cameras is that (if youāre using a full frame lens, i.e. NOT made for smaller sensor cameras) the image is always sharpest in the center of the image, which is mostly what your sensor sees. bonus!
thanks for your help! I did some research and your right =p
Ill have to look more into what lens i should get. Also, external flashes, what do you guys think about them? Which would you recommend? I was thinking of the nikon sb400
