The photo thread in GD motivated me to stop lurking and create this long overdue thread.

Hopefully there will be enough involvement to keep this going. Anyway enough text…

I hate shooting baseball games, but it was the last one of the season:

Excellent Thread

Some top tier material here.

dude. the colors in these are awesome. is that east coast?

Oxnard, California so west coast. The beaches are the only good thing about the city.

hey that’s a nice looking sky and it kinda dominates everything else in the picture. the pics sorta have a ‘cool’ feeling to them.

thanks. it was one of my first times using a polarizer outdoors. i thought it looked funky. but it grew on me.

What kind of Polarizer filter do you have?

I was thinking of a couple of different ideas and I’m just going to throw them out and see if anything sticks:

Maybe have a thread about what equipment we have and basically just try to help one another out and make everyone better photographers.

Starting a srk flickr pool - that way we can easily view what everyone is doing

Starting a srk flickr pool part 2 - focusing on srk related things specifically. Seems like there is A LOT of untapped potential for cool joystick shots, cool pictures of tournaments, arcades, etc. So much cool lighting and drama going on. I’m hella guilty of ignoring this stuff. I was at the family fun sbo qualifier this weekend and i even had my camera in my car but forgot to bring it in.

I still get a little nervous bringing my camera in trying to take pictures of everyone at the tournament, but i think we (unless it’s just me haha) should get over it because this shit ain’t going to be around forever.

If anyone has some more ideas or maybe ways to improve the ones I threw out, lets hear them.

This one i took when i arrived at philly for North East Championship last year.

Long overdue indeed. Good stuff, I’ll be posting some pics soon as well.

its a good idea. but i think if we get into the technical stuff like equipment and all that, itll go in the tech forum. the flickr pool sounds kinda cool tho.

dont be a chicken with your camera. i use to be afraid to bring it with me also. just make sure you have permission first(museums, events, schools, stores). if youre just walking around the city or wahtever, it shouldnt be a problem.

but discussing techniques and methods shouldnt be a bad idea here. equipment is ok.

oh, btw, i have a cheap circular polarizer i picked up from best buy. good item to use if youre outdoors alot.
