I think you hit the nail on the head; i feel as if the motions should be the same but they’re really not are they? so i kinda stiffen up trying to do them to the right, while to the right they just come out better. i almost feel as if my hand is doing different motions when i know it’s the same D, DF, F.
Strangely enough, I have no problems doing DP from either side… go figure.
Oddly enough I had never considered these things with my main, Chun Li, because she is a charge character. Her Hazanshu, though, is a Half-Circle Back (HCB) motion. While doing some training room drills recently I noticed I’m not so comfortable doing it when facing left and it’s possible I’ve been completely ignorant of this fact for a very long time so I instinctively didn’t attempt too many HCB motions when on my “bad” side.
When I do Yang’s MK launcher, jump cancel, whiff divekick, and into Ultra 1 while on the player one side, I actually end up using the SF4 2x QCF shortcut ( :d::df::qcf:) to input the Ultra motion as fast as possible before I land on the ground after the dive kick.
And for his rekkas, after the first rekka I piano all 3 punches for the second and third followup to ensure that at least one of them is inputted after the QCF.
when i have full super meter with and i want to perform a Cancel into Srk or Fireball combo and it just automatically hits the super !
How can i avoid that ?I changed my main to akuma just because of that. I hate SF4 's input system x-|
Alright, the broken punctuation and dead links in the guide should be all fixed. Sorry about the wait on that. Let me know if there are still problems.
You’re hitting way too many joystick inputs than you need. As the first post says, go into training mode, turn on display inputs, and see what you’re doing wrong.
Starcade - been trying to get an answer to my FADC fireball dilemma in general and specifically as it relates to Akuma. What’s the most efficient way to perform it?
my bad, posts in other sections of the forums. how do i do fireball fadc effectively? do i cancel the fireball with the focus and quickly release focus while dashing or should i hold the focus, dash and then release? I just have an issue doing it consistently.
the sides thing is still an issue but not so much of one. it’s getting better, i’ve had to do some tweaking of my grip. still having a difficult time canceling moves into super from the right, but i’m trying to give that some training mode time every time i play.
The basic one is Akuma’s trial 19 which is MK, FB, FADC Fierce Fierce DP. i completed this but can’t do it consistently. the other one is trial 23 which i can’t remember off the top of my head but also has a fireball cancel.
honestly, when i think it through i belieeve i’m screwing up the dash inputs and thus mistiming the move after the FADC.
Just a small editorial on this, I think this part should read
2) Baby steps. If you still find Dragon Punching difficult, attempting Ken’s hard trials are probably beyond you. It’s better to properly learn execution of basic things **than **move ahead too fast and try to mash out things that are beyond you.
I was alittle confused at first when I read it I i was like what? its telling you that you should mash? lol
Hello! If you’re in player 1 position, I find it helps to start the input at back, rather than down-back, and then just input the chicken wing from there. I always found the down-back starting position very tough on a pad!! Hope this helps.
I love this thread. Whenever i’m having a bad execution day, i just look at this post to motivate me to hit the lab some more. i main Yang and I still struggle doing the rekka fadc into ultra on the 2p side.
not geared for SF4 because you can do SRK shortcuts
this question is for 3s and cvs2 i guess. I made a thread like this before but it got locked, and i’ve been practicing for hours and am getting no results.
Cr. MK into SRK, how do you do it from the left side? I can do Cr. MK into Super, but unfortunately that’s it. The SRK motion needs to be inputted too fast after the SRK that if I do it fast, i get the df so a super comes out. Something like this:
How it should be: d + MK, f , d , df P
How I keep doing it: d + MK, df, f, df, d, df, P
because of the super input, if i have meter the SRK will not come out and the super will. The way the hand is positioned you get less accuracy. Someone suggested a slight pause neutral after d+MK. This is near impossible. I’d just like someone who can do it consistently to give me some tips / if they found any difficulty or whatever. Thanks
I was looking about to see if there was something particular I was “doing wrong” as far as execution on the stick, because I have the exact issue most people seem to have: I perform much better going one direction than the other (strangely enough, I perform better on the 2P side…?).
This is completely new for me since I rarely ever had that problem on pad, lol. I switched to stick back in March, and now I refuse to switch back.
Good to know that I just need to keep practicing on both sides and its not something to do with my grip. :-p Excellent thread, 'preciate the info!
One of the best lines ever. (note to self: need to listen to more of J-Live)
