@ Unek :
SFIV Round 2 has wings, SSFIV doesn’t, making the SSFIV dimensions smaller.
SFIV has a bezel, SSFIV is full panel.

Besides the aesthetic?
Your Lock Switch locks Guide/Home.
The TE S has Lock Switch.
It locks Guide/Home, but also does Start Back/Select.
On the topic between the SF4 and SSF4 TE sticks, I’m about to buy one, and was reading reviews on amazon- on the SSF4 stick, they were saying the full panel gets uncomfortable etc. I want to add custom art to my stick eventually, and was thinking, which one would be easier to mod the art? The SF4 with the bezel, or the SSF4 with the full panel?
Also, if you had your choice, which one would you guys get and why? Just curious as I don’t want to spend $130+ on something that I will have a hard time customizing.
Thanks!
@ Capi0223 :
Both are easy to mod with art. Full panel does make some people uncomfortable, but not all. I’d suggest to buy the one depending on what size you want your art.
If I had a choice of getting an SFIV or a SSFIV TE, I would go get the SSFIV TE because I already own a SFIV TE and I wouldn’t have to mod the SSFIV TE for full-panel usage.
Hope this helps,

Thanks that does help alot- after looking around, I found that the MvC2 TE is available at my nearest gamestop. So, now I’m thinking whether to go with the SSF4 TE or that one. I might go w/ the SSF4 TE S for the updated PCB and then just add w/e art I want, but that MvC2 one is nice lol.
Um stupid question, what does full panel mean? I’m looking to get a TE to retire my SE and would get whichever was cheaper at the time.
@Trini_Judoka :
Here’s a good side-by-side comparison of a TE-S and a TE.

TE-S art is filled on the whole stick, while the TE art is smaller, but with a bezel (white border), hence, the TE-S is “Full Panel”.
The TE-S also does not have wings, while the TE has wings.
So wait, is there a perceived comfort factor between the 2?
@ Trini_Judoka :
Yes, there is a perceived comfort between the two. Some people don’t like the Full Panel edges against their wrists. I personally, don’t mind it.
Im interesting to play with Joystick
which one is better Madcatz TE S edition or HRAP V3 SA ?
a local EB games had a Round 2 for $145
First off, great Arcade Stick FAQ, Starcade. It’s really great.
I’m still new to using a Joystick (Only a few days) and I’m really loving the change so far, even though I suck real bad right now. I just have a question for anyone accustomed to using one: is there a certain way you must press the buttons? I ask this because I’ve seen some mash the shit outta their buttons, while I’ve seen others do the opposite. I really don’t want to cause unnecessary damage by pressing the buttons too hard, but I’ve often heard TE’s are fairly durable and sturdy, so it’s possible that I’m being too reluctant to play all-out.
So, is there a certain way I need to press buttons on a Joystick? Or am I over-analyzing things here more than I should?
I personally double tap all my buttons a lot, and hit them with a decent amount of force. My TE and my friends TE feel pretty different, mine is more worn in. The TE is very sturdy, however sometimes when my brother plays he REALLY mashes and it pains me to look at how he treats my stick D:
okay so qustion about how I should do my button layout, the guide says
LP MP HP
LK MK HP
is this the norm? What about HK? or are you suppose to use the 3x button on th right for hk?
^That’s a typo. Bottom right button should be HK.
Thanks for catching that. Edited.
Wow I’m dumb I put this in the wrong thread.
If you are in a combo and you know your opponent has good enough execution to finish it, really all you can do is stay alert and be watchful of potential resets. Other wise, get ready to defend yourself against your opponent’s wake-up game after the impending knockdown.
Combos are inescapable after the first hit, and if your opponent knows that you have a tendency to mash reversals during their combos they may stop attacking you to bait your mash reversal, block it, and punish you with a clean Ultra.
What do yall think of this deal? Walmart.com: Street Fighter IV w/ Fight Stick Controller Bundle (Xbox 360): Accessories
@ MaNiLa iCeD :
Go for it since it looks like a steal more than anything. Just to let you know though, the SEs have knock-off Sanwa parts, and even though they last a while, they will crap out on you sooner or later. But, you can always replace those parts with real Sanwa parts.
