You dont have to solder anything to switch which buttons do what. THere are two wires going to each button with a quick disconnect. To swap two buttons around, swap the two wires going to button 1 with the wires going to button 2.
Hey I was curious if you all could help me with a stick repair problem. I have a Hori EX-SE and rubber casing on the wire in the back has frayed (admittedly from me taking horrible care of it) and bare wire is starting to be exposed and occasionally the stick loses connection as a result. Is there any easy fix like say using electrical tape to cover the wire and hold it in place?
PS I emailed Hori support about if the cable is replaceable, but I figured I would check here first while awaiting a response which knowing most companies I will get in 5 weeks lol.
You’ll probably get better assistance with that problem in Tech Talk.
I will take it over there. Apologies for posting erroneously to the thread I don’t normally leave the MvC2/3 sub forums so I was not sure where to go lol
Hmm, thanks… but right now I’d really like to somehow get all the buttons working again. Is there just no way to do that?
The reason I quoted the bit that I did, was that it gave me the impression that I can’t just buy something from them to fix this problem (LT and Rt crapping out on me)- the problem would remain even so.
If I want all the buttons working do I just need to knuckle under and buy a new stick?
I even emailed Madcatz but they haven’t even responded :P. I wonder if they’re backed up or what…
I have nothing new to add to that.
ARG!
I have two converters, one worked once then broke, the other one never worked to begin with.
What is THE most recommended converter for ps2 pads and sticks to the following systems…
360
Windows pc
Ps3.
I know desk uses an hrap 2 custom for his cmv’s, what converter does he use, if any?
I am really looking for something that my pc can recognize easily, my current one has no idea when it is plugged in. No drivers. -_-. No idea where to find em, the thing is Chinese and generic as hell, not even a brand name.
Read the bit about converters in the first post. Everything you need to know is already in that link.
I agree with Sylari that the white version perhaps appealed more to the consumers, though I like both versions, and I got the black one to match the PS3, since my fav. SF character is ryu. Then I have the original SFIV TE stick: Round 1 because ofcourse of the build, and the design was really nice.
Thanks for the great FAQ! Really helps!
I checked on Amazon for the Madcatz SE fighstick and it goes for $100 not $50 :S
$100 is not the usual retail for a SE. You found a 3rd party vendor trying to rip people off.
Hey guys I was looking to pick up a stick in the next few days.
The local gamestop has a MvC2 TE Fightstick still in stock. I was thinking about picking that up, or going for a Round 2 TE. Which is the better of the two performance-wise, or is there some other stick on the market that completely blows those two out of the water.
Right now I’m looking to get something that will actually let me practice well and prepare me for local tournaments.
Read the first post please.
Do you have any info on this stick? I think its called a SF4 Collectors Edition Madcatz
That’s the Street Fighter 4 Standard Edition Fight Stick.
Ah, is that the same as the Madcatz SE stick that mentioned in the first post? Do all of them have the issue with a washer rubbing on the PCB? I read about, dont fully understand it.
Yeah, that’s the same one mentioned in the first post.
Not sure about the washer issue, sir. Sorry. I’m sure someone else more informed can answer that, tho.
Lots of useful information thanks
