SRK Mini Mafia: Proving Grounds - Team Fortress 2 GAME RED - BLU Victory!

I think it’s a good idea to post our suspects and give reasoning why.

Also, I think it would be best to summon them using the @. Unfortunately, the I can’t be special summoned lol. The suspect plan should work fine since we get some form of thought from everyone as to why said people should be lynched and it’ll prevent people from hiding and just appearing to vote.

I’ll look back and pull up some quotes, but seeing that BullDancer had a hunch that you’re suspicious and you believed he was mafia provoked him to role claim the Pyro. I’m gonna prep up some dinner while I search through the thread for stuff to place as your suspicion.

Like I mentioned earlier, mafia when put on the spotlight will crumble and try to persuade and or question the others on their suspicions on themselves (kinda like what you’re doing right now).

  1. Manx. After re-reading the whole thread, I’m coming around on Synonym’s arguments. Also, he piled on GodotsRevenge after BD died in a quick flurry of anger that a few posters participated in. He also mentioned that I provided motivation for lynching BD, which Synonym and I debunked. He recanted after that. But with all that, along with the reasons Synonym has already presented, I think he’s on top of my list right now. [details=Spoiler]

[/details]

  1. Neesa. Not contributing too much insight, stated that she voted BD because she was half asleep. Tried to put suspicion on Co-Jones for not posting… but she’s a wallflower herself. Why not Co-Jones here, then? See below. Also participated in the angry and immediate backlash on GR.

  2. Saitsu. There’s the obvious BD actions, plus I still think he’s someone I would have recruited if I were the Mafia boss. He’s somewhat unassuming, but is solid enough in his play to not edit posts, get confused about posting in the thread vs. the PM, etc. During night 1, he oddly went from needing a pep talk from me to sternly warning Azure not to discuss strategy at night. Azure rebuffed him… perhaps Saitsu wanted to kill Azure because he was pissed off at him?

Spoiler

4 (bonus!). Co-Jones. General inactivity and distracting posts. He was against the BD lynching, and asked for credit afterward, though, so that prevents him from being higher.
5 (I just can’t help myself!) GodotsRevenge, somewhat for the BD lynch, but also pay attention to page 1 where GR “misunderstands” Azure’s post about no lynching, and jokingly suggests we lynch him. However, people need to remember that BD wanted to lynch GR for very little reason, so he has self-defense. Time will only see if GR is more like GZ (George Zimmerman!)

@Synonym, you mention you can’t get a read on me. I can’t get one on you, either. One question for you: you mention that you’ve only played one mafia game before. In another post, you mentioned that looking at previous games doesn’t work 99% of the time. How would you know that, if you’ve only played once before?

Imma gonna use percentages to show suspicion. 50% is neutral, 0% is complete trust, 100% is LYNCH DAT DUDE NOW
Also, remember that this is Day 2, so I don’t have much to go on.

100% GodotsRevenge
LYNCH HIM!!!

**70% The Co-Jones: **

  1. Joined the bandwagon against BullDancer.
  2. Right before Day 1 ended, quickly said that he would lynch me if BD turned up innocent.
  3. As promised, lynched me after Day Phase ended. Even during Night Phase (you can’t do that, man)

I think there’s a good chance he’s Mafia. I think that he joined the BullDancer bandwagon to show support (1), and said he would lynch me before Day Phase ended (2) to set up a lynch next Day Phase (3). Pretty straightforward.

60% Neesa
I always forget she’s in the game. She joined the bandwagon against BullDancer after the wagon was established. and lynched me ASAP after Day 1. If Co-Jones is Mafia, she shoots to the top of my list.

55% Manx
There was a lot of pressure on him at the beginning, but focus soon turned to BullDancer and me. Not really his fault, but It’s important to note.

50% Mobius
No matter what I do, I can’t think of anything about him. I disagree with most of the posts he makes, but they do make sense. Hasn’t made a big impression.

50% Saitsu
I agree with almost everything he says, but I keep thinking that he’s Mafia in the back of my mind. I think it’s needless suspicion, but I want to point it out anyways.

45% Synonym
I agree with most of his points, and posts often with good posts. In the back of my mind I think trusting him is unreasonable, but what can you do? I have him less trusted then the people below him due to inexperience.

45% DarkGeneral
Why does he italicize his posts?
He is thinking and working logically to each situation. I don’t see him as often as I’d like, but when he is there, he makes good points. I can’t say I trust him, but if he is Mafia, he’s benefiting us and that’s good enough for me.

40% Pietastic
I see him a lot in the thread, and always says something to help civs out and keep the discussion moving forward. Made me spend about half an hour on this list.

0% mrmattoxx

I know I have too many people on here that I trust, but I feel Mafia will come out of the closet eventually. It’s only Day 2, after all.

Don’t forget to rate and subscribe. Come back for more Top 9 lists!

I’m not going to lie, I WAS pissed off at Azure. I actually was going to take a hard look at him if he survived the night phase due to the potentially liability, but then he didn’t.

But if I was Mafia, I wouldn’t have bothered as much. Azure was essentially gifting the Mafia extra analysis. I would’ve left him alive for at least one more if not two Night Phases if I was Mafia to see if he would continue doing so.

From the purely subjective experiences I’ve had in the RE game as well as the start of this one. In the RE game we lynched one of the most solid players on our team on Day 1 purely based on someone else’s declaration that they were playing out of character. This turned out to be false. LAter in the game GR was accused of being out of character when he was in fact a roleless civ. There were several other instances where this logic was employed with minimal success.

To me, this strategy, while holding some clues, is mostly poisonous to the lynching process. There are too many confound factors that affect performance from game-to-game. Internet access, personal issues, contributions of other teammates, interest etc. Saying that all of these factors will remain constant between games is irresponsible.

Despite this only being my second mafia game I personally feel that my ‘groove’ lies within facts and logical deduction. I’ve heard that there are people who play these games that can use magic/special formulas to work out who has what role by a very early stage in the game. I am not one of these people. I prefer to observe, enquire, and then form my opinion based on the results.

I’m still struggling to choose between rating your list as Insightful, Agree or LOL. So that was easily a half hour well spent.

Ps. I’m glad I’m not the only one who gets freaked out by DarkGenerals av + his italics.

There’s a difference here. Right now you’re the only one who is really pressuring me, and off of reasons I personally disagree with (but I do have to consider my point of view). Plus the other reasons of suspicion I put about two posts up. I’m tolerant of aggressive players, but you are focusing on a single person.

I actually stated more as to the reason why I voted for BD. Not because I was 1/2 asleep. I questioned about Co-Jones cause I was asking about inactive people not realizing he had posted a bit more. That was before the vote went through.

Yeah, I’m not putting much insight in, but, people are just either talking in circles or reiterating what someone else has said. I can’t get good reads on people to know what to do. So, I keep quiet and try to read things over, but, it sucks because I get distracted a lot while I’m at work… Which is now, 4pm-12:30am EST. I’ll try to get this so-called suspicion list complied when I get back from my break.

And GR, no, I didn’t say to Lynch you right afterwards. I said you had some explaining to do and left it at that. Feel free to look back at my post history and you can see what I said.

Sorry that I have a life, guys… Y’know. I do work and shit.

I think the issue they’re taking is that because you post so little they expect a large amount of quality per post. Admitting that you haven’t been able to keep up with the thread and have nothing to offer in one of your few posts is pretty disheartening.

Sound reasoning. Now that we’re starting to have enough posts to make research really worthwhile, I’m hoping we’ll get on the right track!

Because I’m an idiot.

*Long day for me today so I’m trying to get my thoughts in order. But let’s tackle this shall we? *

  • 2: I’m not taking this line of thought. I see your reasoning for not reading too hard into the night kill but the night kill does tell us something. It tells us that the mafia had enough balls to waste one of their Gasp Blockers on their first night kill. This is an aggressive play no matter how you slice it or dice it. Whether it’s a trap set for us or if they really just wanted to silence Azure, this tells me that the Mafias personality is confident and aggressive.

3: I’m skittish on this idea for the reasons that Mobius pointed out. While I would love to see who is suspecting whom, it also makes it easier for the mafia to plan their night kills according to our lists. Not to mention since we lost our UC, the mafia can forgo hunting our Medic as a priority for night kills. Instead they can try implicating who they think is the medic by using who they think is medic suspect list and killing one of their targets off. Then they could come back the next day and push for that person since they literally just implicated them during the night befor.

They still kill a civ and they still try to take down the medic. And after seeing us lynch our own UC I wouldn’t put it past Mafia to think that we’d lynch our own Medic as well. Specially if they’re confident and aggressive. *

*Though it’s certainly a good idea and it’s usefulness can be good. But with so little people (that the departed BullDancer pointed out) I’m not sure of it’s dynamics in this type of game. *

Now that I think about it, why do you guys think Azure was Last Gasp blocked? I haven’t thought about it at all…

Two reasons.

They were trying to push people to lynch you and me.

Or they were REALLY paranoid about Azure’s influence.
