Oh, I believe you, I just think it’s funny. You know, hence the “LOL”. Because I’m laughing.
Most of the time a “Mafia newbie slip up” isn’t that. It’s a funny coincidence that you’ve played in almost every game where the “Mafia newbie slip up” is actually a Mafia newbie slip up. I’ve led a few of those Jesus Toast wagons before so I understand where you’re coming from, but be careful.
Also Forge I totally forgot to chime in on the potential of what turnabout mechanic the corrupt mightve chosen. Thanks for reminding me.
I’m in agreeance with most people here that grabbing up another player to bolster the ranks would’ve been the best decision. I cant really see an equal amount of worth in knowing the investigation target of both UC’s. Especially with the first clarification point of how UC’s dont know which one they are. I caught up on the rules and fine print. So it seems like even after an investigation the UC’s still wont know the true affiliation of their target. As such, if the Corrupt see’s that “Player A investigated Player B”, and Player B is one of them, even if Player A is Franziska, Player A doesnt know that and has to assume the possibility that they might actually be Gumshoe, hence turning the GUILTY result into INNOCENT.
On the otherhand, if they knew both UC targets, they could see when they both investigate the same person causing an inconclusive. Or they could see if their actions are drawing too much attention because one of them got investigated, allowing them to reflect and bitch at whoever is under the detective microscope and try to shift play style to avoid a lynch.
I’m all for discussing game mechanics but my suspicion list shall remain a mystery.
Basically, if the UC’s arent sure of their investigation results, Corrupt dont really have to worry about immediate consequence because of the second guessing factor in the two roles.
So I’m pretty new to this kind of game. I’ve always wanted to play but never got a chance to play one before. So that being said I have a few questions that I hope you guys don’t mind answering. Hopefully I don’t break any rules asking these questions some how. So how does the first couple of days pan out normally? Is someone picked at random? Do the special civilians get to tell everyone who they are or can they keep that a secret?
From experience i prefer to speak only if there is something that i really feel that i need to point out, or give my insight, other wise i am more of a reactive player.
Truth be told, being proactive has got me killed on this games
Not exactly. The dUC can be just as powerful as the normal UC if proper sense and play is used. The biggest issue is that both UCs essentially need an extra day to truly lock in the accuracy of their results outside of luck.
I dont know if you can do it on mobile, but wrap the text in (s)words(/s) and replace the parenthesis with brackets.
Take it from someone who learned it the hard way. Choose your questions carefully. The things you ask might leave you with a few holes in your chest or a brand new crimson necklace.
The UC’s are pretty easy to figure out, if one of them investigates let’s say 3 different targets in a row and all 3 are shown as guilty I think it’s safe for that one to conclude he’s the DUC as he’d have to be super lucky to get 3 mafia in a row.
Yeah I know that much. I’m just saying it takes a good minute to carve the results in stone. Made even more a pain in the ass by the fact that the roles arent revealed upon death. If one gets offed the other still wont know what they are, and if they have a last gasp list there will need to be at least one lynch from the list to confirm the identity of the other target results.
Both roles are definitely useful, just saying consequences from an investigation are anything but immediate.
The consequences aren’t immediate to counter balance the fact that the Civilians simply have not one but TWO UCs. If the consequences were immediate the Mafia would never stand a chance past praying they nail them both within the first two days.
Yeah that makes sense. Were there two in the first PW game? I wonder if there are two UC’s because our investigator got wiped nearly right off the bat last game. Like a phase after I died right? I dont feel like going back however many pages in the loser’s lounge, or clicking all the links in the game thread to see if I’m right.
Or we could just ask Forge lol. Forge when did you get shanked comrade?
-Don’t edit posts
-Don’t PM anybody except Missing Person, if you’re supposed to be in a PM with somebody Missing Person will put you in one
-No posting or communicating about the game with players after you’re dead
-Don’t post a screencap of your PM you were sent
Day Phase everyone votes to kill someone, or to abstain from killing anyone. Night phase the Mafia kill someone, the Medic protects someone, the Vigilante can kill someone, and the two UCs investigate someone. One UC gets normal results, Mafia will appear Guilty, while the other gets backwards results, Mafia will appear Innocent, and they don’t know which one is which.
There are absolutely no restrictions on saying anything, but be aware that your words will have consequences. I could say I’m Mafia, Medic, UC, and Vigi all in the same post even though that’s clearly impossible, at no penalty aside from the other players changing their perceptions of me and thinking I’m being stupid. Similarly, asking “When do we get to make our kill” would essentially tell the entire thread that you’re Mafia. Good luck and I hope you enjoy our game!
Well I went and found it real quick because it interested me how that would even work. Got the sign up thread with rules and roles
All the same roles are listed, so how was there technically no roles? I already understand the sikwidit situation where medic protected an investigator so there was only one. But I dont really get what you mean about there being no vigi or anything either
