SRK Mafia XVIII: Phoenix Wright - Back in Session -- Turnabout Icege (GAME OVER -- CIVILIANS WIN!)

Ok trying to check in now. SRK fucked out when I tried to check in earlier today before I went to school…

Anyway I agree that we should probably assume that they chose to recruit someone until there’s indications that they picked the other option.

They all say that though.

The UCs may have one way of protecting their identities.

I just remembered that it was on the PW game that Chief debuted lol

@Vynce‌ by the general consensus of the thread it looks like they’re pretty safe anyway.

On that note, was there any hidden mechanics in the last phoenix wright game? I never read it.

Yeah. Id argue that I was pretty useful.

Holy shit I can quote!

I agree that its best to assume they recruited. It also doesn’t hurt for the UC’s to assume mafia knows who they both investigate. It puts the ball in mafias court to conceal what they know. If they drop the ball we get a juicy trail of bread crumbs if we… do our research.

Mine still isn’t working :frowning:

What is that null at the top of your recent posts @Synonym?

I’d be fine with it, but I’d have to create a new account because my old one has admin privileges. Or, better yet, I could change my password to a stock password to give to you, and then you could change it so that I would not have any access at all.

You know how the Admin Panel for Invision works, right?

On a side note, I’ll do everyone a favor (made pink for April May’s viewing pleasure):

Yup, I’ve ran boards on Invision before, so no sweat there.

I’ll only do this if two exact things happen:

  1. SRK starts going haywire again.
  2. I have contact with everyone in the game to let them know of the migration.

Thinking about it, you can always sign up a MafiaGM account, make that an admin, then demote you to a member, or change your ForgeDigger account to MafiaGM, then sign up ForgeDigger as a member.

Onto gameplay-related topics:

First order of business: I would’ve recruited. I agree with Vynce that this game is purely numbers at heart. Although discussion and mind games are a huge part, they aren’t necessary for a functional mafia game.

@ All of those people who haven’t said anything of worth yet - a set of people that surprisingly includes @RadicalFuzz‌ - if you’re at a loss for what to say, I implore you to answer this question: what mechanic would you have voted for if you were mafia?

I was just about to ask that as well. I think it’s mobile quotes blowing up? I personally love that this entire site has taken a giant shit on itself just for some really garbage tier emoji list. Over here looking like Yahoo Instant Messenger and shit.

I am still keeping track of how long it takes people to post for the first time. Also good luck getting my conspiracy theories this game. Talking and asking questions got me killed last time for no other reason than because I was asking questions. I’m going to be a bit more tight lipped this time around

^this post is the dirtiest one yet IMO

I woulda voted for the extra person. The other ability is weak and you lose advantage as soon as a uc dies, which you want to happen fast, making it counter productive

How exactly is it dirty? You’re setting yourself up as the OZ of this game, suspecting me for no reason. I’m not saying I wont share my theories, but this time you guys will have to show me that it’s worth the trouble of dying immeidiately. Because it sure as hell wasnt last time.

I’m going to go ahead and discourage everyone from being quiet. Especially you, TGG. You were extremely insightful last game, and it would suck if that goes away simply because you’re afraid of dying.

You have to keep in mind that this game is a game of teamwork. It’s alright to die, as long as it wasn’t for nothing.

I tried to make a post this morning but it got nommed by the server outage. It was gonna be great too, gonna bull something like “I think I’m civ but I have too many PMs to check”. Stupid forum fixing itself at the worst possible time

As for the decision I would’ve made, straight numbers. Syn has a point about the information being really useful and running a tighter ship because there are less variables, but I have two main reasons. One, I would’ve loved to be recruited so I’d pay it forward, so to speak. Two, this is a game based on how many civs and Mafia are left. Also whatshisface does have a point about wanting to keep the UCs alive being counterproductive since they’re getting info from them, but that applies to both choices, they just get more info without another player. Plus, at the rate our power roles have been dying these past few games, I’d almost put money on the UC being killed on Night 3.

I can still be insightful. I just wont be until I decide that it’s worth the trouble. More importantly, everything I said last game was void. None of the mafia had spoken enough for me to derive anything about them. I’ll wait until I have more to work with.

Well, I’d rather you be insightful and not be talking than just not be talking. You’re not gonna withhold anything you noticed in your Last Gasp right?

I’d have gone with the double UC investigations personally as I feel that it would provide more knowledge. Knowledge = power.

I’m more than likely going to lynch whomever posts the least (with the exception of no posting, as they might be DQ’d) after the whole “Wallflowers OP” bitchfest from the last game.

@Aidebit and @Dandyman90

GAME ON!

The bitching was warranted.

I’m all ears for any anti-flower tech though.
