SRK MAFIA XVII - ATTACK ON TITAN:End of Day 8 - The Grim Reminder (Civilians lose!)

I think our greatest asset is the anonymity that our two aces have. If we decide to never go on an expedition then it might be advantageous to know their identities but for expeditions our greatest strength is mafia having to gamble on attacking a group.

Mafia don’t have any LG blockers explicitly but I believe that if they kill a group with a titan in it, it deprives all the civs in that group of last gasps. That could be a method they might employ.

Thank you to the people who corrected my understanding of the titans killing themselves.

Hah. What makes you think she has anything at all?

She’s got nothing.

If you do an expedition later in the game, you’ll have smaller groups. That will make it easier to figure out if a Mafia is in a specific group.

At least that’s what I thought, until I realized that we could make 6 groups of 3 right now with little casualties. I think we’ll get more information from a lych vote though.

Let me clarify something real quick. I don’t know how much I’m allowed to say regarding their identities. The card says I simply can’t reveal their identities but I’m still waiting for further details from Hecatom. So for the time being, I can’t do anything, directly or possibly otherwise.

Forge I believe the ability for expeditions is “4 to 6 groups”, not “groups of 4 to 6” so that tactic when there are 8 or 12 players left alive wouldn’t work, they’d still need to be split up into 4-6 groups.

On the topic of expeditions I haven’t changed my stance. We have an advantage. Let’s say I make 6 groups and the Mafia get lucky and destroy an entire group. That’s up to 4 possibly roled civilians that could die in one phase. On the other hand, our best case scenario is Eren kills a TItan, Armin finds a shifter, and Levi/Mikasa kill an attacking Titan. That requires two separate players to make great decisions and the Mafia as a whole to make an unwise one. Yes, it could technically almost win us the game in one phase but it could also put us into a position where we lose 4 roles in one phase. More than that the expedition likely won’t have any substantial results. Armin might get a Shifter check, but they could be Dormant civs. Levi or Mikasa might be in a squad that’s attacked, but it could be the Female Titan and the rest die anyway, telling the Mafia exactly who Levi/Mikasa are. This last part could change based on clarification.

I don’t have much of anything right now so I can’t support any lynch. And with just about 14 hours left before deadline we need to address this now. Going into night phase the Titans choose two of three options: Kill, Investigate, Recruit. We have to choose one of these three: Medic, UC, Shifter-UC. I’m ignoring the “protect the walls” thing because it doesn’t matter yet as the Armored Titan can’t attack until the third Night or second Night after an expedition. It’s very unlikely that the Mafia will blindly recruit, both because there’s a high chance it won’t do anything and the small chance of a third of their team getting instakilled by Eren. Therefore, the Mafia will kill someone they think is a civilian power role and investigate someone they think is a non-Lover Dormant. They have only those options and then the wall shenanigans, which Hannes almost completely takes care of while he’s alive.

@GodotsRevenge we can’t do 6 groups of 3 each, that’s only 18. There are 24 players, not counting myself, so you’re off by exactly 6. And what if those “little casualties” include Hannes? I can guarantee you won’t be killed at night in that instance. Or what if it’s Hange? No Last Gasp means no Investigation results, nullifying a large portion of her usefulness. No Medic means if a role survives an attack they’re almost definitely going to be the next night kill target.

@Hecatom if Levi or Mikasa are in a group that’s attacked by the Female Titan she survives, but do the other members of the group die?

Unicorns.

Do any Dormants believe that Humanity will win this game? If you have faith in us, step forward and offer yourself to the cause. We’ll avoid lynching a civilian role, of which we have at least half a dozen, and we’ll limit the Titan’s options by reducing the likelihood of an Investigation succeeding.

Oh, C_K, what have you there? Why such the hasty edit? And only one word, which makes no sense in context.

I rescind my earlier statement, I suggest C_K for today’s lynch.

Having fun with the edit button now that I know what I can do it for free!

it is however just Unicorns

I spelled it “Unicrons”

Could this be a new record when it comes to early mafia slips?

63=64=24

Learn your maths.

And I personally think having 3 civilians die is worth learning the Female Titan’s identity. That’s the most powerful role the mafia have right now, and the game will be much easier after we get her out of the way. But having our civ roles die so early would suck, so I think it is better to do expeditions late-game.

I dunno BK, you tell me.

yea ok

Lynch Combo_Knight

Phew, still logged in on my phone.

I’m having an issue with SRK on my laptop. I log in, but never log in? Having the same issue with Pale Moon and Chrome.

You’re all guilty!

YAYE!

Fixed it :3

If I recall correctly deadline is coming up soon. Regardless of what you want to talk about, the bottom line is we’re looking for 3 mafia members right now.

We should probably focus on who we are voting for today.

Combo Knight is my top lynch atm. Might change if something comes up later but that seems unlikely.

I’m going to lynch BlindWilliam1234 because he’s done even less than me despite being one of the first to check in.

I just don’t see myself really contributing much at the moment, not much to go on and I don’t want to lynch someone based only on speculation.

…unless that’s the entire point, in which case, this really isn’t my kind of game…

Pointing a finger at me with no mention of evidence or theory? You better fix that. At least when I called out Augustus I brought up why. And trust me, you really don’t want me to get lynched.

I also had an idea in the shower. I figured I might be talking too much and making myself a target of the mafia. Then I thought of it a different way. If I’m talking too much, the only way I’d make myself a target is if I’m actually on to something. Otherwise what I say would be treated as nothing more than the ramblings of a mad man. Orochizoolander, seeing how you’re the only one who legitimately wants me dead and was vocal about it, in addition to the lack of presented theory as to why, you are now my next mafia candidate next to Augustus. Tread carefully.

This post was originally meant to go up last night, and then the forum broke

Say it with me now Aloha.
“Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, thy namely troubles shall not be.”

It’s no secret that I accept TGG as a method of address anyway though.

Since we are dumping info, knowledge means nothing if not shared with those around you. Though I don’t know how much you guys can derive from this, but it’s mostly meant to work for me alone. Whenever I read these comments about a player, I immediately remember what caused me to write it because my memory works like that.

I will clarify some points about my notes though. A term you will notice is “Said nothing of value”. This pretty much means that you havent said jack shit that caught my interest in the context of the game or anything alluding to allegiance. Or you havent contributed to civ strategy.
In the first column next to every name, I keep track of if a player is silent, when their first post was if after the first page, and attempt to monitor how often they post. Admittedly that last part hasnt been tended to with the highest degree of attention.
The fact that the first and only post Recessiontime made was a question about lynching, drew a fair bit of suspicion.
Combo_knight immediately making calls threw up a bit of a red flag as well. Whether in jest or hidden sincerity, he has earned the attention of my eyes.
Godot suggesting that we should have a small group through process of lynching on the first page, seems fishy to me as well. Maybe he just worded it weird though.
Augustus is my most likely lynch vote due to his initial post, his response to me, and his reluctancy to discuss civ strategy or mechanics.
My name is not included for obvious reasons.
There is also a player or two that I just have a baseless hunch on. Pimp Willy for instance. I really have no evident reason to believe it, but my head is telling me to expect a curveball.
Newly added: I now suspect Orochizoolander of being mafia due to his sudden and unsupported opinion. His confidence in the matter is what really bothers me. It’s almost hard headed even.

I leave you to figure out whatever you can from my notes.

EDITED MY POST TO FIX THE SPOILER. IT WAS BREAKING THE THREAD. ACCIDENTALLY PUT A FORWARD SLASH IN THE WRONG PLACE.

I’m already suspect!
