Holy crap lol. I guess eBay is the way to go.
Am I going to have to DQ someone again?

Am I going to have to DQ someone again?
Only if mp promises to post the Mafia list.

Not sure why the formatting is so fucked up. Give me a sec to fix it.
Half because I know it’ll annoy Alpha and half because I enjoy this I’m just gonna leave this little tidbit here.
Thanks for the invite MP but the rules confused me for I am a simple man. Maybe next time.
Oh wait, the roster has been filled. Disregard…
Missing Person: Okay, this is Missing Person here, with the third edition of SRK Mafia
Interviews. I’m here with a man that needs zero introduction, one of the pioneers and the most electrifying GM of SRK Mafia, Pimp Willy. So PW, what prompted you to come out of retirement for this game?
Pimp Willy: I was getting really burned out, doubly so by the fact that it had been a long time since Mafia had actually won. I thought taking a step back was right…and it was. But ever since the cross site all star game was brought up, I realized I really did want to play again. Plus, Mafia managed to win last game, so that made me excited too.
Missing Person: Right, so I guess perhaps striving for better certainly helps get the fire under your butt. Do you feel like the game has been stagnating as of recent, or has it been improving?
Pimp Willy: Definitley Improving. If you go back and ready mafia 1 and 2 games… its night and day. In Mafia 2, people were basically randomly lynching eachother and using no logic or thought behind it. Also, one player was literally given the list of all the mafia from the get go… a ruleset like that would never fly these days. Every player these days is a threat when they want to be, we’ve broken the game in a way that reminds me of watching a MvC2 combo video… But that leads to stagnation too. I think maybe we make the rulesets too easy on civs these days. Last Gasps are apparently not very common on other sites, but in our games we rely on them as a crutch. Im glad to see this game doesn’t have them, that really changes up the mentality, especially for roles like UC.
I also am not a big fan of infinite kill vigilantes, as you know, because it takes the one power that Mafia
should have and gives it to Civs as well… civs should live in fear at night, not mafia.
Missing Person: What is quite possibly the most broken tech you have witnessed or been a part of in this new era of mafia?
Pimp Willy: I am not Magneto. lol no, but seriously, code talk and using passwords to protect things is pretty broken. Using standard as a password on a zip file, because only roleless people would know the password, was pretty broken. Made it impossible for mafia to claim roleless. And then it got broken further with the complete post encoding trend. I like to think my Post Count program can be pretty useful, so far when I do use it… I do seem to notice patterns. I always tend to die too early to make use of it.
The codes are never foolproof…but they’re still very powerful. Even used in simplier ways, like when I gave Kaz a zip file and kept the password so that I could claim whenever it was convenient, that stuff is kinda pushing the limits of the game. Or when I posted a zip file for fuzz, and after he verified he got it, I replaced the zip with a different one with a completely different message, so if somebody else came along they’d be confused. Those moments are fun to me though, so its a tough balance. I’d take a fun, crazy game over a perfectly balanced boring game any day, i.e. Karate Champ vs Super Turbo.
Missing Person: Right, one thing I do want to touch on is the post count patterns. This is apparently a subject that doesn’t get hashed out as frequently on other sites, but SRK definitely has used this a lot. What do you see as being the biggest posting pattern?
Pimp Willy: Well, the first person who turned me onto the habits was Noodlehead, he basically told me you can divide the people into buckets and that typically, each bucket will contain 1 mafia and 1 civ role.
It was suprisingly accurate. So like, among all the top posters, you’ll have 1 person mafia and 1 of the
special roles. Process of elimination lets you make lynches more confidiently. Or, as mafia, night kills more accurately, where I think its actually better.
Of course, the problem is on SRK we all have our set posting patterns that we’re aware of now. No matter what role I have or not, Im expected to be in the top posters. If Im not, then I am gonna get killed for playing “odd.” So as time has gone on, I feel like the post count has been less meaningful. Except really, for the wallflowers… wallflowers always are shady. Almost as shady as people who post fluff to stay off the wallflower list.
Missing Person: This post pattern is pretty much the reason why I’ve refrained from changing from hyper-posting myself. I know that I’m facing a lynch if I underpost without a good reason. (I.E. being on an airplane between Detroit and Seoul)
Pimp Willy: Yeah, Its kind of frustrating too, because sometimes you have real life reasons for having a different posting habit, but since its a game about deception, you can never take that for face value. Like the time I claimed I was going to the dentist, right as I was in the process of facing a lynch train. Was I really going to the dentist, or was I just pretending?
Missing Person: Precisely, which brings me to one of your trademarks: Watermarks. And now, the truth must be exposed…fact or fallacy: Did you pay a dental technician $20 just to sit in the dentist’s chair for the PW watermark?
Pimp Willy: Ah, the PW Watermark, the old middle finger, my favorite. Fun fact, I took a picture this weekend at the Book of Mormon, holding the guide up with the stage in the background. My wife asked if I was going to flip it off for my blog. I was confused, then she said she notices I always flip stuff off for pictures to post online. Its even invaded my real life. : )
As for the dentist story… I plead the 5th! No, actually if you ask the other mafia at the time, it was
real. I was live chatting with Pie on Google Hangouts while my mouth was being drilled for like 4 hours. But, I like the personality I created, where you don’t know if I am lying or not. Am I capable of being that devious? Or is it all an act? I mean, here we have a guy who guys by Pimp Willy whos name is not even Willy. What gives man? Deception.
Missing Person: I agree. Now, onto a really touchy subject. You had a real hard road to get a win in mafia, that took some really hilarious jumps. Let’s go through the wayback machine and look at a few of them, shall we?
Pimp Willy: The worst, best mafia player ever to play. Let’s do it.
Missing Person: SRK Mafia VIII–You laid out a good plan even from the pre-game, only to later have it all thrown back in your face by some crazy asshole named Missing Person. How flustered were you when you came back to see the last gasp that sealed your fate?
By the way, I actually want to say that that move was quasi-inspiration for my similar play in the offsite
game.
Pimp Willy: Haha. Well, what can I say, you busted me. Honestly, when I saw your last gasp, I thought “I’ve got this.” I thought I could defend it easily enough. Honestly, most of your post was not based on fact at all, and I blew holes in your reasoning that I had hoped others would see. My frustration actually came more from the fact that people listened to it, moreso than you were right.
I thought I countered each point of yours good enough to not get lynched… but alas, it was not quite that easy. And to top it all off, it was also Fathers’ Day.
Missing Person: Alas, also the last time anyone has listened to my last gasp…
Pimp Willy: Haha, serves you right for not using correct logic! It’s funny because last gasps are
often ignored these days. But come end game, usually theres enough last gasps saying “LYNCH THAT
MOTHERFUCKER” that people usually come around. Also, the earlier you die, the less important your last gasp is.
Missing Person: The funniest one being how Alpha named every mafia in order on how to lynch them, and it got ignored.
Pimp Willy: Even a broken clock can be right twice a day.
Missing Person: Ouch. Save the salty shoutouts until the end of the interview.
Pimp Willy: Im just saying, you can’t just blindly follow last gasps, it’s not personal. People are
always like, “My last gasp was correct!!!1111one” But, they forgot the other 12 times they were completely wrong. Shoutouts to orochi “Lynch these 8 people and if you’re wrong I’ll offer myself for lynch” zoolander.
Missing Person: Which brings me to my next topic. SRK Mafia All-Stars. You were on the verge of the big win, in the big game, up until the GoC, what we considered the Super Bowl. What was going through your mind when you created the fake PM, and what was going through your mind when Alpha changed your role card?
Pimp Willy: I found that humorous honestly. That was a win in my book, even if its not on the stats sheet. To me, it was no more than a joke to keep the loss streak alive. In my mind, the fake PM was just that, fake, clearly not meant to be taken seriously. Its another one of my trademarks, editing the source code of PMs to change what they say and screenshot them. Only a fool would ever take a screenshot of a webpage as gospel. The bigger question is, how did it feel to get popped day 1 as mafia in that all star game MP? : )
Missing Person: That was actually day 2, and it was as salty as I let on for it to be in my posts
leading up to it.
Pimp Willy: Right, we no lynched day 1. That’s correct.
Missing Person: Now, for my absolute favorite. The offsite game.
Pimp Willy: The birth of a legend, Lando Calrissian.
Missing Person: And this one, I have to still admit to be partially my bad. But Lando has become a fan favorite thanks to this. So explain to the viewers at home what happened in this game in your own words.
Pimp Willy: It was a series of unfortunate events, that honestly ended up making a more memorable event, so overall it worked out fine. Ok, so Fuzzy and Forge were starting up an offsite game… I guess because they had friends who weren’t into srk that was interested in playing? Never was 100% clear on that.
But, I was tired of being killed simply for being Pimp Willy. I decided to invent an alter ego, like
so many others have done on the site, named Lando Calrissian. Why Lando? Even I don’t know why fully. My Son was just getting into Star Wars, and it seemed so random to never be traced back to me.
So here we go. I have my new name, my new avatar, I even had a defined posting style (no capital letters, no flowery language) that I was going to adhere to. And then up pops a message from you, Missing Person, on Steam. “Hey Willy, you’re not playing in the offsite game are you?” And I couldn’t admit to it… so of course I say no. “Good, because I’m mafia leader.” loooooool what were the chances?
Alas. I had to withdraw, but in a manner that kept my identity secret. So, Lando decided to do what any
rational human being would do in that situation: post My Little Pony porn. I of course made sure the gms knew what happened, but to the players I imagine it must have looked like a mental breakdown.
Missing Person: From my side, it totally did, and actually pissed me off because it popped up at work!
…that was a really bad choice of words.
Pimp Willy: Hey, whatever floats your boat. You like seeing naked Ponies with human sex organs, nobody is gonna stop you.
Missing Person: I swear to God, I’m a professional at this interview stuff.
Pimp Willy: Well, hey, you’re typing pretty well one handed.
Missing Person: The question everyone is dying to know now–Did you clear your browser history before anyone saw what you saw?
Pimp Willy: A real man lives with his browser history. But I probably used incognito mode anyway, what am I? A savage?
Missing Person: I totally forgot what times we’re living in. These kids today don’t know how good they have it.
Pimp Willy: Exactly, back in the day if you wanted to download porn, you had to do it overnight
because it took hours to complete. Psh. Kids these days are spoiled.
I almost wonder if we’re gonna hit a breaking point in mafia soon, it seems more and more people are reaching the burned out state. Will it take another downtime like before? We used to get like 1 game a year in, maybe 2. Now we’re lining up to run them back to back. I am really glad to see so many people step up and want to run games now though.
Missing Person: I worry about that too, right now it’s going strong, and who knows? With all the GMs we have now, we have a shitton of games going down the pipe. This may be the beginning of a burgeoning scene.
Pimp Willy: We even have our own ranking system, soon we’ll be bigger than the fighting game scene! It kinda is like the early FGC, we have our own local arcade with the best players in it, then suddenly some guy comes from out of town and invites us to a bigger tournament.
Luckily you and Synonym seem to have represented us well. Both made it to the last 12 players. Must be hard, being mafia in a game like that, right MP? I kid, I kid, but yeah, we’re still struggling to find our way. We have a very unique style compared to the other sites I scouted.
Missing Person: Alright, since you did bring up the GM-ing side a bit, you are one of the most
prolific GMs we have. Which game was your favorite to run and why?
Pimp Willy: Its interesting because I thought I ran way more games than I actually ever did. Probably because I helped step in and GM a few for other people. I think that Zombie Apocalypse was maybe my favorite. I think it captures that zombie feel, it was the first game back after a big break (my first game I ran too), so it always had a special place in my heart.
The TF2 games were kinda thrown together last minute, though those had the most interesting writeups as it had crossover between the two games. Also twice the damn work lol.
Vampires vs Werewolves was a project of mine I had worked on for awhile… I’d like to revisit it, but I think it had some problems in some of the roles that need to be ironed out. I liked overall how it went.
But zombie apocalypse was definitely memorable to me. I also got to write about SoVi3t jacking off, so I guess that’s where my creativity blossomed.
Missing Person: That explains the whole MLP thing. Which was your favorite write-up to do? I have my personal favorites, but I have to hear which one struck you the most as “Damn, I hit my stride here.”
Pimp Willy: Honestly I don’t have one that stands out in my mind, maybe the finale to the Zombie Apocalypse game, where it was revealed it was all a movie remake of World War Z (which had the movie actually coming out later that year, in a sort of meta commentary!)
Missing Person: That finale actually did work out well. I was actually hoping the Real Nigga one would come to mind, because I was laughing pretty hard at that one.
Pimp Willy: Haha, ok so with the Real Nigga one, that was a direct request from SWBeta. I had never even heard of that video before he linked it to me. And it turned out to be one of the better writeups, you’re right. Crazy, there has been so much in mafia that one I had actually forgotten about!
BTW, here’s an image of that moment in history, starring SRK Mafia:
Spoiler
Missing Person: Now, being here a long time gives you a lot of insight into the players of this game. Over the course of mafia, whose stock has risen and whose has fallen?
Pimp Willy: Whose has fallen? Mine, easily. A lot of the old timers who have been around, some of them have gotten left in the dust: Me, Kaz, Bulldancer, we struggle to find our place in the new generation. On the flip side, Synonym, Missing Person, RadicalFuzz, a lot of the “new blood” so to speak has really taken this game to a new level, and knocked me off of my perch. The prideful side of me gets annoyed, but the competitive side of me likes it.
Missing Person: So, as a GM, what are some of your biggest pet peeves when it comes to game design?
Pimp Willy: The biggest thing that I’ve come to hate is unlimited vigi kills from the civ side. But I basically look at a game as one of 2 types, you have the standard game with a few powers, where it should be about making reads and not relying on powers to win, which are most games we run. Then you have the games meant for full and full of powers : Marvel vs Capcom, and Vampires vs Werewolves, to name a few.
The latter types, I dont think balance is as important as fun. But for the core games, we’ve been seeing some power creep lately.
Missing Person: Where do you think the power creep is stemming from?
Pimp Willy: People wanting to come up with unique things for there games, to give it that memorable twist. As a GM, its easy to dream up really cool powers. But its hard to understand how balanced they are until you actually see it in play. Something that I definitely havent mastered yet.
Missing Person: Right, I think I may be partially to blame for the power creep, since I tried to innovate with the Kenny role. And then suddenly, so many games had newer mechanics.
Pimp Willy: I think so long as a game contains like 1 unique mechanic, then it’s probably good to go. Unfortunately we havent really understood the base level mafia game balance very well as a site. Other sites run like 25% mafia, we tend to run like 20%. We also use last gasps, whereas most other sites don’t.
It seems like we just edge the civ side more powerful with each iteration. At least for my games the 1 unique thing is the philosophy. Zombie Apocalypse, it was the Carpenter which leads to 2 night kills for mafia. Felt very zombie apocalypsy. For Vampires vs Werewolves, it was the 3 faction thing. (again I knew that game wouldn’t be balanced) In fact I designed it so town would really have a hard time, and they ended up dominating instead. So that was a failure on my part.
Missing Person: And see, I totally enjoyed the Carpenter role, it definitely put you in a place where you second guess lynches out of fear of hitting the carpenter and getting mowed down.
Pimp Willy: It also put a weird spin on role claiming, because the more people who claim, the more exposed the carpenter becomes. I’d like to bring back that format again sometime. But it’s easier to get yourself pumped up for new themes and game types. I’ve been wanting to run a Breaking Bad one for a long time, for instance.
Missing Person: Right. Any big surprises in store for that one? I can only imagine what a game based around dealing meth’s going to entail role-wise.
Pimp Willy: haha, well not to really spoil the show, but it takes place basically during the season 4 timeline. Its uniqueness is 2 fold: Firstly, there is basically infighting and a power struggle within the
mafia side itself. There is a mafia leader, who just needs to win the game. Then theres another character, Walter White, who is also mafia, but he cannot win if the Mafia Leader survives. And when the mafia leader dies, he becomes the new leader.
So you have this power struggle where you need to get the mafia leader killed, but you have to be subtle about it or its gonna bite you in the ass. He actually gets to pick 1 ally to be his partner, Jesse. And Jesse is given a gun with 1 bullet to use. But Jesse’s win condition isn’t tied to Walt becoming leader, but at the same time he can use that bullet to help Walter kill the mafia boss. So you have this very interesting dynamic on the mafia side.
Missing Person: So is Jesse going to be a civilian or mafia aligned role?
Pimp Willy: Mafia.
Missing Person: Very interesting.
Pimp Willy: It’s almost like 2 factions within the mafia. There’s really no logical reason Jesse
should have to kill the mafia leader for Walt. Except for a sense of friendship, in that Walt chooses who his Jesse is. Also, There are 2 civs who do not want Walt to die, and are aware of his identity. They have an alternate win condition where if Walt survives and they survive, they win. Still working out the details on that kink, not sure if Walt dies if they automatically lose or not. But yeah, the theme is that even people on your side are definitely looking out for themselves. Outside of that the roles are fairly normal; uc, doctor, forger, enforcer, etc.
Missing Person: And having only heard about the show, it does sound fitting for the show itself.
Pimp Willy: The best role is suicide bomber : ) ding
Missing Person: Please give it to OZ again.
Pimp Willy: My personal favorite role as it was my first role ever.
Missing Person: So out of all the games you’ve played, which was the most hype game for you?
Pimp Willy: hmm thats tough…It’s either the first Marvel game, or maybe Phoenix Wright. Both gave me big villain moments, which is what I live for. Marvel was the first shining through of my villain side, where I coordinated with PuFF and made this whole monologue type thing to make people think he was Modok, not Sentinel, so they’d lynch him and blow somebody up with the lynch. It was my first real act of deception in Mafia.
Phoenix Wright, I got to play up the villainy too, especially when I tried to trick people into thinking the game was over and correctly called out some of the remaining roles (like sik as Medic) and the fact that the medic had been blocking the UC all game. Had I been civ, I would have had my mind blown
Missing Person: Yeah, I have to agree on PW, the game was balanced and tense just from how much reading people actually had to do. It was old-fashioned mafia, so to speak in a big game format, where reading superceded roles.
Pimp Willy: Yeah, I believe it had its unique element too, I just can’t remember what it was off the top of my head.
Missing Person: Makes me wistful for NoodleHead.
Pimp Willy: I’ve always been under the belief NoodleHead just rolled an alternate account and is
playing under a new name.
Missing Person: It’d be interesting, but he’s Taiwanese, so I think it’d be harder for him to blend in with his style of English.
Pimp Willy: Odd, I never got any impression he had any trouble with english from ever playing with him.
[11:08:30 PM] Corey Lanier: He had actually said that he was Taiwanese and English wasn’t his first language, so he would never handle writeups.
Alright, wrapping this up. Do you have any other mafia-related projects coming down the pipelines? New games besides Breaking Bad, or new advents for SRK Mafia itself?
Pimp Willy: Since I’m kinda coming off a mini retirement, I really havent had much mafia stuff planned honestly. The Breaking Bad game has been in my mind for about a year, since the series finale. So thats kind of been in my back pocket so to speak. I’ve put most of my energy into the SRK Arena series. A new, fun way to pass the time that requires less commitement.
Missing Person: I have to admit, I was skeptical of Arena at first, but having tried it, I endorse the game.
Pimp Willy: Glad to hear! When I designed it, I had like 0 idea if it would work or not.
Missing Person: Also, you may be the first to run such a thing, at least the POG session at 2+2
doesn’t have it now.
Pimp Willy: I remember sitting with my brother eating lunch and trying to brainstorm a new game type, and he was helping me with it. Yeah I didn’t take it from anywhere else, it was all out of my brain, though I wouldn’t be surprised if somebody has tried something similar. Of course we’ve entered the power creep era on that too. Especially if you see my Diablo 3 game lol, that is like half RPG. Which is my biggest concern. But I think the best thing we can do is throw everything against the wall and see what sticks
Missing Person: But on the other end of the spectrum, with the worry of burnout in Mafia, Arena helps to alleviate that concern some. Plus with it in its infancy, we have plenty of time to iron it out.
Pimp Willy: So in summation. I am the best, even when I’m not. Everyone else sucks at Mafia, always listen to me.
Missing Person: And if everyone listened to you right now, what would you tell them?
Pimp Willy: Fuck Mafia, Play Arena, Get Bitches.
Missing Person: Bitches or Bytches?
Pimp Willy: Bytches are overrated. It’s like a combination of Magic Johnson and some guy who was just on the Lakers.
Missing Person: Shots fired. Any more shots you’d like to fire, or any other shoutouts you’d like to give?
Pimp Willy: Lets see. Shoutouts to everyone who has stuck with Mafia for a long time without giving up, like Kaz and OZ. Shoutouts to people who consistently show up even if they don’t get their spotlight they deserve, like Exodus or Hecatom. Shoutouts to multiple identity crisis. And big ups to the new generation of mafia players, Fuzzy, Vynce, MP, Synonym, AC, etc. You guys have made us old players look like scrubs. (except for me of course)
Also people need to stop taking the game so personally, a lot of people get too into the game and forget, its about DECEPTION. And stop making stupid bets like “Leaving the site forever” because that shit is dumb.
And thanks to MP for the interview. When we started this interview Kaz’s music era game was just starting. And now it’s time for Forge’s M:TG Shards game. That’s a long interview.
Missing Person: I just hope everyone’s literate enough to read it. And with that, tune in next time,
and remember to lynch LimeGreenPatato, you dumbasses!

Missing Person: What is quite possibly the most broken tech you have witnessed or been a part of in this new era of mafia?
Pimp Willy: I am not Magneto.

Fun Fact: I knew that Pimp was Lando going into the game but when I became co-GM Forge didn’t tell me that the MLP thing was a ruse, so I just assumed that Pimp had a breakdown.
Pimp Willy: Using standard as a password on a zip file, because only roleless people would know the password, was pretty broken
RadicalFuzz > “pretty broken”

Wasn’t sure if that was a last gasp from mp or not so I decided not to read it just to be safe.
Great interview!
So…today’s the day. Is anyone else going to request black?
I din’t know there was a “I’m not a real nigga” video. That thing is hilarious.
OMG PW calling Synonym “some guy who was just on the Lakers.”
What a burn, shiiiiiiit!
Or, he was saying Syn has HIV!
I’m so hype right now! Play lots of land so I can be played

Easy there, Sterling.
All color confirmation messages have now been sent out. If you did not receive one, let me know so we can get you taken care of. c:
I’m not making any deals with anyone this game. If any civs use that as rationale to lynch me or any mafia as rationale to pin a lynch on me so be it, but I won’t waste my valuable time and energy addressing a tired and detrimental game plan so all posts concerning my usual deal will be ignored.
