Gone through the thread and have confirmed something I thought might be the case.

If a certain condition hasn’t been met in 3 hours (with 12 hours remaining to vote), I’ll have my lynch target for the rest of the game until that player is dead.

Yup. He’s been online, posted one obligatory check in. He’d be a good recruit, since no one knows him, and I don’t expect him to make any waves on the civ side if he is one.

SAD is not a bad player either, better than his name in Forge’s game implies. But yeah, he’s an unknown mostly.

I feel like he should be more active than he is, I don’t think I’ve seen him this inactive in 3 games.

I’m not going to vote to lynch OZ at the expense of a more salient target. However, unless he really starts pulling his weight this game I’m going to be pushing for an early lynch on him.

Why is the Mayor getting all this debate about him?

His power seems… meh.

What am I missing?

I take it it’s the fact that the mayor is basically untouchable at night if he moves everyone but himself into town hall, thus giving us a confirmed civ. He can still be shapeshifted though.

How could he be shapeshifted, if alone?

It bypasses the town hall protection.

From Da Rules:

Shapeshifter
Grants access to the Shapeshift Skill. Shapeshift may be used during the night phase to target one person; that person is secretly hidden and the Shapeshifter takes on that persons persona at the end of the night, and lasts until the end of the next night. If the Shapeshifter is inside of Town Hall, this grants the ability to target somebody inside of the Town Hall. The shapeshifter becomes the target and takes all consequences of actions targeting him/her, and any investigations will be returned as if the target was a vampire. They also get to manipulate that persons vote for the day

But that would require the werewolf to know who the Mayor is. Or to guess mad awesome. But even with an awesome guess, if the Mayor is an unknown variable, then the werewolf would just be shape shifted into “random player’s name”, and not the Mayor role itself, right?

My intent was to draw attention to this statement in the rules and contrast it with Bious’s remark:

If the Shapeshifter is inside of Town Hall, this grants the ability to target somebody inside of the Town Hall

It (Shapeshift) bypasses the town hall protection

Bious said that Shapeshifting ignores the Town Hall, but there is no clause that says the Shapeshifter may target someone outside the hall if he is inside and vice-versa. I’m curious as to how Bious came to his conclusion, and if he is indeed correct.

i’m currently trying to come up with better ways for me to summarize a fuckton of pages so i can go back look at things more easily… what i’ve done in the past on SRK was just straight up read from where i left off to the current page which was usually like, 3+ pages… really bad idea on my part
