So I’m a little frustrated. Has it been said that SWBeta will not reveal Kane & RedD’s roles? That’s not completely fair, and if I remember correctly Ronin’s role was revealed after he was booted from the game on inactivity last game, so why can’t the same be done in a situation like this? Also, why don’t we have more of a detailed understanding as to what the secret roles are by now?

It’s great that the game is progressing so fast, but it’s like no one really has a clear understanding on how to play. Can someone clear this up?

I’ll be honest. I understand even less than I thought I did, but I think that’s kind of the point. This is my first time playing so the witness role was new to me and seems to overshadow the secret police (if I understand that role correctly). If I had known that role exists I probably would have given a little more credit to previous posts. I didn’t realize how much of an advantage it was for us until I sat down and thought about it. If someone is pretending to be the witness then it doesn’t take much for us to verify who the real witness is, and at that point the mafia is done. For it to be fair to the mafia, the witness should be given 6 names, and told that only 1 name is guaranteed to be a mafia member. The actual members in the list can vary from 1 to 5 so that if the witness discovers 1, he may think that was the only one and consider the rest to be civilians. If the game works the way I think it does then that would still be useable.

I’d also like to apologize in advance. I’m still going to be active but it’s clear that I don’t have 100% understanding on how exactly the game is to be played so I’m going to try to watch and learn.

I’m going to also have to agree with kaz post on the whole game master not revealing the roles or a write up. It’s not really fair to keep their position in the game a secret from everyone who’s actually playing the game.

Well the thing is, there might not even BE a witness. Theres a huge collection of roles, but nobody knows what roles are in the current game at all. That’s kind of the unpredictability of it. If somebody IS a witness, well by coming out and making themselves too obvious they’d be the first person assassinated by the Mafia, and since they’re not allowed to say “HEY LOOK I’M THE WITNESS! LISTEN TO ME!” even the medic can’t constantly protect them, and besides it’s really easy for a mafia to PRETEND to be a witness.

The fact is nobody knows how to play 100%, that’s why its so interesting at this point. There was a witness last time; was there this time? Maybe, maybe not. The fact is Kane 100% believes there is, so SOMEBODY is on the money, we just need to figure out who.

Secret Roles are secret for a reason. I posted the link to the Wiki in the first post, which elaborates on all types of roles the game can have and how they work.

The only roles all players should be aware of are the MEDIC, who protects a player of their choosing from Mafia hits every night, and the UNDERCOVER COP, who ‘investigates’ one player every night by asking me whether they are civilian or mafia, and I tell them. I must apologize, though, I forgot to post in the first thread that I changed the UNDERCOVER COP role to the SECRET POLICE role, which is essentially the same thing, except the job has been divided between multiple people. The people discuss who to investigate and when they agree on someone, the SECRET POLICE CHIEF, the leader, tells me. Then I provide him with the info, which he gives to the other police. If the leader dies, I delegate the role to another police.

The MAFIA works the same way as the SECRET POLICE. There is the MAFIA LEADER, who is the only one that PMs me after all the mafia decide on who to kill in the night phase. If the leader dies, I delegate the role to another mafia.

I’ll just go ahead and elaborate on the secret roles that were in the last game:

The WITNESS is a civilian that knows all of the 6 mafia members. They cannot reveal that they are the witness, so they’ve got to have good persuasive power to get people to vote their way.

The SILENCER can be civilian or mafia. In the last game it was a mafia. Every night phase, they select one player to ‘silence.’ The player that is silenced cannot take part at all in the following day phase conversation and they cannot vote.

I will reveal alignments when someone dies, but secret roles will be revealed when the game ends. This is for the sake of the narrative that moves the game along. Revealing the secret roles as the game goes on is akin to being in a theater watching a movie and shouting spoilers for the movie 5 minutes before it happens. I will reveal who the MEDIC and SECRET POLICE are if/when they die, though, because those are roles known to everyone.

On the subject of RedD, I was going to remove him from the sign-up roster completely when I found out that he was banned, anyway. He would not have been in the game at all. Being banned is not the same as being inactive. With one, you are 100% unable to play the game and with the other, the player just chooses not to participate. Someone who is unable to play should not be in the game at all. I am not going to include someone in the game that is unable to play. This course of action will apply to anyone that is banned during the course of the game. They will be killed off with no role reveal. This was not in the rules to begin with because I honestly could not, and did not, foresee some shit like this ever happening. Yeah, I know of RedD’s reputation, but I didn’t think he was stupid enough to do some shit severe enough to get him banned, or at least not so soon after his previous ban was lifted.

As for kane_warhead, I’ve decided that I will reveal his alignment, only because I did the same for people who suicided in the last game. For future games, I will not reveal roles of people who quit/suicide, especially if done in a manner that could jeopardize and/or limit other players’ ability to play the game.

Post up right now and ask whatever general questions about the game you have and I will answer them. Players with secret roles, like my original PMs stated, PM me if you have any questions about your roles. I want to clear any and all misunderstandings to the best of my ability before the game continues any further.

DAY 0: NIGHT TIME

The choice came easy to almost every one in The Jazzin’ Kat that mornin’. RedD was voted to be lynched without anyone thinkin’ twice about it. You see, my man, SWBeta had actually banned him from conductin’ business with the family. Apparently, he had some behavior issues that didn’t sit too well with SWBeta, so SWBeta cut him from the dealings. For whatever reason though, he was allowed to still come to the Kat. RedD had let people know that SWBeta had it comin’ for screwin’ him over… no surprise why they wanted him lynched first.

So what did they do? They got rid of him usin’ one of the most classic methods. They whacked him with a baseball bat, tied him up, took him to the lake down by Paulie’s junkyard, gave him the ol’ pair of cement shoes, slapped him around with a fish until he woke up, then dropped him in the water before he could even beg.

What?

That’s all, you ask?

Shut up and let me finish the damn story, kid.

It would have been nice if it ended like that, but somethin’ reeeeeal strange happened right after they drowned RedD. One of the guys there, kane_warhead, started to scream real creepy like after watchin’ RedD drop. It was like seein’ him drown brought back some kinda past trauma or somethin’… it was real weird. Everyone tried to calm him down, but he just got more and more rowdy. He started babblin’ some nonsense about being sorry and him not havin’ a choice, then he ran into Paulie’s junkyard. Everyone heard gunshots, then a loud crash. Everyone ran to see what had happened. There was a smashed car on the ground, with blood seepin’ from underneath. Above the car was a crane, with a ton of bullet holes on the tip and on the broken chain under the tip.

The guys remainin’ figured that he had shot the chain of the crane, which was holdin’ that car up, and let the car fall on him.

They all lifted the front side of the car and someone reached under to grab the gun. Weapons were banned in the town, and the only one who had access to the weapons were SWBeta and his chain of command. Every serial number of every weapon that had been confiscated was recorded and kept in the old archives in The Jazzin’ Kat’s basement. Everyone returned to the Kat to look the gun’s number up. The number wasn’t in the archives, which meant it was an outside weapon. kane_warhead had just come into town recently, so the civilians put two and two together.

And as if by magic, a letter fell from the roof of the archive room onto the floor. Someone picked it up and read it.

"Looks like kane_warhead couldn’t keep it together long enough to enjoy the end of the show. Shame. Guy killed his own sister because of a threat on his life. Did to her what you did to RedD. Can you believe that? Sickening, eh? Well, he was never quite the same after that, so I guess we should’ve seen something like this coming.

Speaking of ol’ RedD, his nickname was ‘The Troll,’ right? I’m sure you want to know if he’s one of us too, right? Well, we’re just going to TROLL you and leave his business in the air.

So congrats, you found kane_warhead out, but get ready, 'cause it’ll be our time to strike soon.

Soon, it was nightfall, and the civilians all went to their homes to sleep. A lot of 'em were worried because they had no firearms to defend themselves with in case the mafia went after them. I need to take a bathroom break, sonny. I’ll continue the story when I get back.

DAY 1: DAY TIME

The people had just fallen asleep when somethin’ else happened. One of the people heard tickin’ in their kitchen and went to investigate. That tickin’ sound was all too familiar to the man that was investigatin’. It was a bomb. Realizin’ that he was the next mafia target, he hurried to find out where the bomb was. He checked all the cupboards, under all the tables, in the sink, among the dishes, and finally, in his ice box. There was a tickin’ clock in the ice box.

“Heh. When do I look like I was born, yesterday?”

He grabbed his coat and ran outside of the house with the clock. He ran and ran far away from any other civilians and threw the clock as hard as he could. Makin’ sure that where he threw it wouldn’t hurt anyone, he ran back home. He took off his coat and sat down on his bed. After catchin’ his breath, he went back to the ice box in the kitchen to make sure that he was safe. There was nothin’ in the ice box, save for a half-eaten piece of carrot cake, a carton of milk, and a bottle of orange juice.

“All that runnin’s made me hungry. Might as well finish this cake.”

He poured some orange juice in a glass and put the cake on a plate. He leaned back and chugged down the juice. Lickin’ his lips, he stuck his fork into the carrot cake.

You won’t believe what happened next.

The damned carrot cake EXPLODED and took the poor chump’s head off! His headless body slumped onto the table, knockin’ over the glass that was once filled with orange juice.

After all that trouble, the ticking clock was just a regular old clock. The bomb was put into the guy’s cake! How twisted can you be, eh?

Oh, what’s that? The guy’s name?

It was TheEvilChinaMan.

TheEvilChinaMan WAS ASSASSINATED BY THE MAFIA.

Mornin’ time rolled around and it was noticed that he was missin’. Stayin’ as a group, the people went to his house and found his body, still slumped over on the table. His body was taken to the Kat. Where in the building they put it, I dunno.

Best believe the people were not too thrilled about TheEvilChinaMan’s death. As they were about to discuss what to do, a baseball flew through an open window. A note was attached to it…

“That’s 2 us, 1 you. It’s only gonna get more interesting from here.”

The note was ripped to shreds. The townsfolk wanted only one thing… a lynching. Bad.

TheEvilChinaMan, you may post up a farewell post, but nothing in the post can contribute to the game in terms of lynch discussion or who you suspect.

Hopefully, in his defense, he’ll expose the final (and probably the leader) mafia member.

Man theres lots of bombs going around in this game! haha, so they decided to off a fairly inconsequential civilian, thats pretty surprising. Not too bad of a move Mafia, doesn’t really give away who you’re most worried about.

I’m not gonna vote just yet, but it does seem suspicious for Supreme. Even though it doesn’t gel with what I believed for round 1, the fact that we KNOW Kane was a mafia, and Kane tried to defend Supreme JD from accusation, is sort of a guilty by association thing

lol. Yeah right. I’m not convinced supreme is mafia, but I don’t think anyone is going to stick their necks out on the off chance that he turns out to be.

I’m staying neutral for the moment, but I’m tempted to lynch GCL just because he told us we could. I’m convinced that there’s some serious high level yomi going on here lol. Did GCL out kane as a sacrifice to throw us off? At this point I’m not willing to put anything past anyone on SRK. Even the outburst could have been staged, but maybe that’s giving them too much credit? If Supreme is mafia, kane is/was a dumbass for jumping to his defense so quickly. Either JD or GCL could be mafia. For the vets, has there ever been a mafia strategy that involves sacrificing a member?

yes. like i said before, i am positive that he is a mafia member. if he isn’t , which i know he’s not, you guys can lynch me and i am totally fine with it.
