I’m watching this 45 minute lecture by Grant Morrison on magic, alien abduction, etc. He keeps vacillating between very learned, experienced discourse and sloppy drunken giggling. It’s pretty funny.

if you’re actually smart, you’ll recognize the “nerd humour” in BBT to be a pathetic attempt to pander to your demographic.
I don’t consider it pathetic or pandering. I don’t believe the writers are these characters, but I believe they know people who are, and I don’t think they’re necessarily talking down to them.
