Fraud fraud fraud, all the time. It’s becoming a new stereotype that I’ve come to expect out of the claimants I see in the system… particularly if they happen to be from Memphis…and especially if they’re women.
There’s something especially disgusting to me when they then have the audacity to complain about a missed payment (this is usually that person’s fault a good 95% of the time at least.). Really, if you were cheating a benefits system like that for the past 6 months or so, why call extra attention to yourself? It’s amazing, really… you’re there calling in for benefits each week, knowing full well you got a new job a few months ago…and then you have the gall to call in or send an e-mail to ask “hey there was a check I didn’t get 2 weeks ago…”. The human race already rates pretty low in my book, but this job continually sinks that opinion further and further every damn day.
It would also be interesting if we could go back in time and tell the founding fathers (like the first few presidents and vice presidents, or even just regular citizens from those times) of good ol’ U.S. all about the current unemployment system, and all the delicious fraud that goes with it…along with how this sense of natural entitlement (e.g.–“So when can I expect my first check?” says the guy that was caught on tape stealing from the store who also cursed out the manager and walked off the job) that most people have developed in the past few decades. It would be interesting to see their reaction to that information.
I tend not to make friends with stupid people so I don’t really have that problem.
