Most issues that were mentioned have nothing to do with the determining factors that occur during an actual match. Which is my main point. If Wong doesn’t try, it’s because he chooses to.* Sponsors don’t affect gameplay, drama is drama, and while rigged brackets could affect the overall outcome, the best players in the tournament still have to play eventually.
In other sports all it takes is one bad call and the entire scope of the game has changed instantly. Fighting games have far less incidences of this, it is only recently people started adding various rules in order to appear more “official”, and still controversy is relatively rare. Local tournaments and venues are also more traditional.
*lmao. As soon as I saw the front page of SRK I laughed at the irony.
haha, nah the softball i speak of is strictly bar league where it was consumed out in the open(if you were last to bat and there was no beer you ran and bought a tray). I know little of normal softball leagues as i grew up in the state of drunkards(Wisconsin :S).
just embrace your paleness. it’s the manly thing to do.
Thanks pro. I’ll be sure to keep them as safe as possible.
As for the Justin thing is concern. We’ve been doing that shit forever. They have changed brackets at EVO a few times. As for not trying your hardest that’s pretty stupid since he didn’t sign any contract like players in the NBA, NFL, and other professional sport stating that he will.
These are open tournaments, it’s not like they are invite only.
I dislike sports and I would watch 24 straight hours of Justin Wong vs. an even turtlier version of Justin Wong before I’d sit through an entire soccer game.
3rd shift is the SHIT. That shift is mad relaxing because nobody bothers you. All you do is lay back, listen to some music, mop and stock. You won’t get many people going in. If you can sneak in a TV and a console, you are pretty set. Best thing about it is that you get into the most interesting conversations during that shift. One of the times I worked graveyard I had a male nurse who had a catapult in the back of his car. That guy was boss.
Soccer is way more defensive and they do dirtier shit. Missing out on awesome stuff but it wasn’t until a couple of years ago that I learned what to watch for in that game.
Graveyard is one of those weird things you just can’t describe. I’ve never dealt with convenience store guys just dumbassed people at Jack in the Box or McDonlad’s in the night/mornings.
I did that ish, mad pussy for hooking up with them chimichangas lol. Getting extra loot for selling beer past time and all kinds of other perks. But then there is the possibility of getting held up and I talking a beer run. Which is why I let everyone know I was strapped when I did it.
Yeah…I’ve read/heard that 3rd shift is fun as hell depending on where one works.
This would be a call center, so there may be more downtime than during the day.
Maybe I’ll bring my laptop and put some games on it.
I’m just gonna have to leave earlier to avoid them…
Interesting how the Buddha put emphasis on suffering just as Issa ( Jesus ) put an emphasis on suffering also. This along with the theory which states that Jesus spent time in India studying Buddhism during his “lost” years are engaging to me.
A sad effect of the rise of SF4 was how the old school posters were washed away by the torrent of new people in the boards… The reason why I post in the thread at all is because it’s one of the few places were SRK’s bitter betties hang out.
I can’t believe I actually miss the rep system seeing how much bitching I did about how “it ruined” the forums. SF4 ruined the forums…
But that’s okay!
If Naruto has taught me anything, is that the new generation will always surpass the old generation.
I worked two night jobs. One as a health care aid and one as a security guard. I have about 2 years experience with it. Right now as it stands, I would take less pay rather than work night shifts. Whenever I did it, it was because I lacked options… yeah those were the only times. It’s livable if you have strong enough will power to work out in the gym hard so you can fall asleep as soon as you get home and you have the fore sight to wake up early in the evening so you can at least get to "have a daY’ but it really sucks when you are in a BBQ and everyone is drinking and eating while all you can think of is that you can’t enjoy yourself because in less that 4 hours you start your night shift. I guess it depends on how much they want to pay you and what type of job it is?
Video games in general are FULL of complex, hidden rules that dictate gameplay, ie, you can’t combo after a sweep (although that is only true in some games, which adds to the complexity). If somebody doesn’t understand these, it becomes impossible to appreciate the skill involved. Similarly, you can’t appreciate the pacing of it either. A thrilling rush down perfect may appear to be rushed, pointless and unfair to the untrained eye seemingly devoid of strategy (they are just attacking!) And on the other side of the coin, zoning, poking, projectiles and shenanigans may also seem stupid and pointless (Why doesn’t he just attack him?).
Anyway, my point is, how much you enjoy/appreciate a game or sport is directly linked to how well you understand it.
I find it interesting that the followers of Jesus use the idea of suffering to guilt and scare you into believing in Jesus. I wonder if Jesus really wanted his torture to be idolized.
