What are you talking about? I volunteer with middle/high school kids and am invested in my nieces and nephew’s education. I help their parents with what their children should be learning and shit.

Recess was the shit in elementary.
You fought and planned for the balls to play dodgeball
You learned how to organize dodgeball, and kickball games
You learned how to deal with and spot bitch crybaby hypocrites when playing handball.
It’s a shame kids thought they where too cool for that shit in middle school, and there was no equipment provided for those games in high school when kids pulled their head out of their ass.
And kids do t go outside now in days. If they do, they chill and all of them are on their phones looking at videos and only talking to each other when they see a funny video. Shit looks depressing.

Naps are important to refresh the brain to learn and do more. Study after study after study after study shows that naps have nothing but positive effects on the brain and overall stress levels. They’re so vital new companies go out of their way to give employees rooms and tech to have the best naps possible. This is even more important if you’re a kid since your body grows and the brain saves what it has learned to empty out the space to learn more during sleep time.
You can tell Epidemic has smoked his memory away because he has actually admitted to doing that.

Lack of recess is why kids are doped up on meds to make them calm. No time to run around and burn off energy, socialize, get into trouble qith their peers, so they do it during class and disrupt the learning process, and then instead of fixing the problem properly the schools and teachers and doctors convince parents there is something wrong with their child and they need to buy a pez dispenser full of pills to fix them. Now we have a nation of full grown children who dont know how to socialize, dont know how to deal with their feelings being brused, and need “safe spaces” to protect their under developed personalities.
I’m not out of touch on this subject either, they first started implimenting this shit when i was in school, i watched it happen. Then I got to watch it get worse and worse every year with my siblings while they where in school. Recess is incredibly important to a childs growth for dozens of reasons and watching these schools turn a nation of children into drug addicts because they wont let them play at lunch time anymore is fucking revolting.

Jokes aside, what you said about the parents having to play their part in a child’s education couldn’t be more true. Kids learning Mandarin in the first grade. To me, Mandarin was the guy who tried to kill Iron Man, but always failed despite having enough power in his little finger to destroy half a city block…Literally. Just wondering if these charter schools will be open to the public, or if you have to pass some sort of “test” to enter? Just saying.

My parents were very lax about when I went to bed so long as it was before midnight. On weekends they didn’t even care since I was playing video games all night like a dork. That shit came at a cost, though. Often I would go home straight from school and sleep from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and still need more sleep after that.
I could’ve been taller than 6’2" if I had a proper sleep schedule, tbh.
The one thing I will say about naps as an adult is that they are fucking wonderful. Since I work from home a couple days a week, I tend to eat while I work and take my lunch hour to nap.
I’m so fucking productive after a solid nap that for the summer I literally have almost nothing to do this year.
@Starhammer Some charter schools have tests and some just have waiting lists. The school mine go to had tests BC since they learn Mandarin straight from the jump they need to make sure the kids are at a certain lvl prior to kindergarten

My parents were pretty strict during elementary for sleeping.
But in high school, I’m pretty sure I went to sleep around 1-2AM.
Then I would nap during classes, come home, watch DBZ, fall asleep from 5-8PM.
Eat dinner.
Get on playing more Diablo 2 till 1AM and repeat.

NYC SHOULD secede. It’s a totally different place from the rest of the state and as someone who grew up around Buffalo, it would be better for the rest of the state if it did. The rest of the state basically gets ignored or paid lip service to in favor of NYC even though we provide their power and probably all of their water. Fuck that shithole of a city.
The government is possibly among the most inefficient in the country though. So much pork spending and special interests, they could have a trillion dollar windfall and still not have enough. Cuomo is a scumbag too, every time I go back, I’m glad I don’t live there anymore.

Completely agreed. We played Rape on the playground in 1st grade and as a result I came out as an emotionally well-adjusted individual.
