Yeah, the article I read about them holograph desks is that the technology is here, it works, but it’s retardedly expensive. They’re spending the next few years pumping a LOT of money into it, for video games, surgery training tools, etc. While it is a beautiful and amazing tool, I dont see a full fledged console being based off it, more like a peripheral for an existing console. Still amazing.
And on that note, I wonder when we DO get holodecks, if we will have multiple brands of holodecks. You never saw Riker and Worf arguing over Microsoft vs Sony Holodecks, with Data coming in at the end with the Nintendo Holodeck, only to be laughed at for not being able to have play sex games on a Nintendo Holodeck.
I have only ever owned one race track as a kid, and I bought it in the States during a trip, and it was missing a chunk of track. So it never turned on, thus the cars never raced. To this day, I have always wanted a cool race track to fuck with, and I have ALWAYS been disappointed about this.

It’s bizarre to me that some folks keep blaming the teachers or parents for kids fuckin’ up and generally not doing well academically… where’s that concept of personal responsibility? It seems like some people are afraid to admit that most kids fail due to their own stupidity and laziness…like they’re all such perfect little creatures, and bad, disappointing things that happen with them are ALWAYS the result of some outside factor. It’s undeniable fact that some (probably most) range from stupid to average at best…just like any other category of this pitiful species. Perhaps the average person forgets the disparity once they become adults? Do they NOT remember how things were during their days in school? Just like some kids were the smart ones that were more inclined to do the “right” things in life…some kids were just stupid, or inherently evil pieces of shit (like the bully that randomly sucker-punches people and curses out teachers regularly for no reason other than he finds it amusing)…it’s really that simple. There’s something that annoys me about this collective sense of denial the human race has with this situation…we don’t want to admit that some kids are losers, and they will always be losers in life. I suppose that’s far too depressing for people to accept on any level. You could say this about any group of people, really… say it’s a stadium of about 50,000 people. You’d be foolish to assume that all of those people have only good characteristics…they’re all geniuses that are generally “nice”, right? …it’s unrealistic and silly to believe that. Anyway, there’s so many things wrong and backwards lately it’s ridiculous…it’s also reminding me of this new-age take on parenting (well, not so “new” really… I think it started around the time my generation were the little kids) where no one can be simply be a “loser” at something…people with this mentality would organize some allegedly competitive event with a large group of kids, but declare EVERYONE to be a winner at the end of it.(which a smart kid may then realize–“Well, what’s the point of striving to TRULY succeed then?” If everything is forcibly equalized later, there is no incentive to truly “win”…why bother with effort and ambition… I try hard to in at this hypothetical event, and my lazy, talent-less friend over there did nothing and ends up with the same results because the powers that be say so? Well fuck that… That’s what this bullshit teaches each new generation of kids.)

Man, both Clone Wars cartoons are exceedingly better than the prequels they’re based off of. It continues to be weird even having noticed this a while ago, especially with how much violence the current one has been away with up to and including rather frequent on-screen deaths of non-robotic characters.

Unfortunately, due to the utterly masturbatory like/dislike system–that somehow manages to be more masturbatory still than SRK half-becoming a pseudo-Facebook–being gone, there are no points to be deduced officially anymore. I suppose one could deduct “man points”, but no one keeps track of those and considering the nature of your own ramblings of late, arguably most of SRK is already in the infinite negative with respect to those, so it’s quite pointless.

While I think this is generally true, it’s not as clear-cut unfortunately since, even with the poor state of American education, some teachers are, inevitably, (going to be) massive fuck-ups who don’t or can’t properly communicate what they’re paid to teach; this makes sense since they too are, of course, quite capable of being those stupid kids you speak of, only all “grown-up”. Also, personal responsibility arguments aside, I think it’s just generally easier to focus on the teachers (or parents) as a problem because they should be both “know better” and it’s pretty much political suicide to go after kids in most instances; it also “helps” that it’s easier to single out a teacher than an entire class room of 20+ kids that have to be individually taught and things like that, whether or not it’s the correct thing to do.
I’m not sure I agree with this part, though. Even if I thought it was true, which I don’t because America tends to really equate “forced equality” with an always-evil form of “socialism” when you get down to it, American society wouldn’t really be teaching anything that general nihilism doesn’t already teach.
So there arguably wouldn’t really be much of a “point” in striving to “truly” succeed anyway since it would still eventually crumble around you and come to ruin and naught because of how frail, weak and mortal humans were/are. Given how you rail on about this a lot more than even I do, I’m rather surprised to see you even raise this particular issue (as in this particular part of the paragraph).
