My Best Buy and all other retailers stopped selling PS2 games years ago, and when the Vita was introduced all PSP games/hardware got GGPO’d. Only Pawn Shops and GS(I think, haven’t been in there in forever) still sell PS2/PSP games.<div><br></div><div>I’d buy a bunch of PS2 games at a buck each. At this point I’m looking to increase my PS2/PSP/DS/PS1 collection over every other console/handheld/PC.</div>
My birthday is on Saturday and I am dreading it.

Once you get old it’s just another day, but you might as well try to make something out of it.
It’s probably gonna be all sports and Disney games.
<p>It just hit me now that all the media collection that has been posted here on SRK is also lost :O</p>

<div class=“QuoteText”>So I just realized that I dont even play most of the fighting games that came out this gen. I play Tekken Tag 2 the most and I rarely get online to play. I think I would rather just play some ST, 3rd Strike, KOF 02 or XI than most of the newer games. Old man games for life!! <br></div>

You play Vsav?
I’ll try, though I swear I’m starting to feel old.
You know, I was playing that at a con last weekend.
Oh shits! Darkstalkers Res comes out next month! I finally get to play it! =)
Hah! Called that ish!
Try Short Pump or VCC.

Dude you’ll have to hit me up cause I’ll be getting that day one.
Soundgarden’s Black Hole Sun music video. Almost 10 years later and still really fucking creepy.
Pretty sure you guys can play Darkstalkers on GGPO right now. I’ve never messed with the series too much, personally.<div><br></div><div>I’m about to get Crysis 3. Hopefully my PC can run it decently, reading forums it’s horribly un-optimized and you need a beast PC to run it.</div>
if MvC2 doesnt carry over to next gen and gets shut down on current gen Ill probably just play MvC1 and XvSF on ggpo. I cant see myself getting into any current fighter, except maybe KOF13
Yeah. No need to wait for DS Res when its on GGPO/Supercade.
Live services are guaranteed going down at some point, just like the Xbox 1 services went down. As soon as Microsoft isn’t making any money off the service, they’ll shut it down. There are people out there who bought OG DLC for Xbox 1 games and can’t even download them anymore, which sucks. All games with multiplayer=done for, eventually the same for Live 2.0 too.<div><br></div><div>Question is will PSN go down for some revamped version? Vita uses the same PSN as the PS3 does, so they might continue it for next-gen. Will the content be compatiable with next-gen consoles, though? Sony could shut down PSN too and all games with multiplayer/DLC/etc will get GGPO’d as well if they do. Hopefully PSN sticks around post-PS4 and we can always access the multiplayer of our games(as long as people are playing them) as well as digital games and DLC.</div><div><br></div><div>This kind of shit makes me buy more last-gen games, portable games and PC games.</div>
Is online play doable over 4G tether? I pay enough for my 3G cellphone to bother with an ISP bill. Remember I don’t have to deal with data caps from Shitmerican bloodthirsty phone corporations with crappy coverage.
<font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>I think PlayStation uses cloud, but ever since I revamped my PC my PS3 has turned into a Netflix machine.</span></font>
Online play is doable on any type of connection, wired or wireless. Netcodes for 99% of games not FG’s are great and run amazingly smooth even with semi-high pings, and this is coming from someone who’s been online gaming for over a decade, on a variety of consoles/PC’s as well as a bunch of different gaming genres with low to high player caps.<div style=“font-weight: normal;”><br></div><div>FG’s are the only genre of games with multiplayer that still have horrible, horrible netcode. You need a great <b>wired</b> connection with massive download/upload speeds, connected to someone who’s not too far away for a good experience, regardless of what FG you’re playing. CPS2 based games with > 100 ping on GGPO is the best experience I’ve ever had with an online FG, personally. 3S:OE is amazing against players with low pings and MVC2 uses GGPO as well from what I remember.</div><div><br></div><div>Good luck playing an FG on a wireless connection, though. You’ll get massive dropped inputs, rollbacks and other stupid shit on top of desynchs. If you’re playing a local player though, wired/wireless won’t matter nearly as much.</div><div><br></div>
I have over 80 full games bought from the XBL marketplace. They damn well better be playable on whatever system comes out next.
