Eh, still… A dude hacking someone verses is on the same level as dudes going to jail for marijuana possession. They’re not violent crimes and get these holy-than-though judges to try to pass a sentence to make an example. Now, if he were hacking them, getting their billing information, charging things with their credit/debit card info and charging people to see these photos? Yeah, sure. But, c’mon… He leaked a few pictures and bragged about it like a typical dumbass behind a monitor. Why do celebs keep taking nude photos on their phones in the first place? Google is much more of a creeper than that dude.

I agree with a lot of this, especially about the personal responsibility in a digital world. If you don’t want your nudes on the internet, they should not be stored on any form of storage that is on or connected to the internet.
There still is something to be said though about the severity of hacking into someone’s email account. It’s not the same as possessing weed. It’s assault, plain and simple, but on a mental and emotional level. Having their privacy and security compromised like that hurts. It’s like someone finding your journal and reading it aloud to the cafeteria. Now, are they stupid for leaving their journal out where it could be found? Yes. Are celebrities who email nudes or keep them on their phone asking for it? Absolutely. Should violating someone’s privacy in that manner be punishable with imprisonment? Definitely.
Am I somewhat hypocritical in saying that I still have many of these illegally-leaked nudes? Yep, but seeing Hayley Williams’ perfect boobies is totally fucking worth it.

It’s a matter of the sentencing that really bugs me, not that he’s going to jail at all. I think 10 years is too much. Should he be punished. Yes, very much so. Should it have been that harsh? No. 10 years and 66K fine to kick out? C’mon.
