There are people who would agree with you, Pertho. I was one of them but once you get in depth in 3s there no other game with as many options or mind games. The parry system in its self is an unlimited variable that can take a low tier and make them high. People cry about it because it kills zoners but the pace of 3s and the mixup options that all the cast has makes that a void argument. Zoning is done through footsies, not a mindless Fb spam.

People think chucking fireballs properly is so damn easy. By far that is the hardest thing I have ever seen in a fighting game.
Because of the nature of parries, you have to learn to play your opponent more than your matchup. In Super Turbo, I use Blanka… so when I fight a Gief, I can s.mp through about 50% of my matches and s.mp / c.hk through another 40%. The remaining 10% will keep me on my feet. In 3S, I judge my play style based on how much my opponent knows about parrying, AND how frequently they will actually use it. I use Akuma in 3S, and every Hugo fight, which is a favorable matchup for Akuma is a different battle. Shit, playing the same person back to back could be a different battle. It depends on what super they pick, how much they parry, and what they go for. There’s no “gameplan” that I go in with. I go in with the mind that I have to feel my opponent out and really outplay them. Jump back air fireballs might work against some shitty Hugo players in general… but a good one is going to beat your ass if you don’t mix them up. Bait teleports into dash up gigas? GTFO… You can’t predict that shit… well, except Kuroda.
bingo. Playing Ryu and shit is actually hard. Sure it seems so easy, but I dunno how many times I’ve lost a fireball war because it isn’t as simple as one would think.
I know FB spam isn’t as mindless as I make it out to be haha but 3s just isnt a full screen zone game and if that’s your playstyle then I understand why you would prefer ST/IV.
Not to mention what does my join date to this site specifically have to do with anything? I would gladly partake in a ft10 but I don’t think you play 3s
