A lot of videogames find their roots in D&D.
Right? I started there 11 years ago. When it was time to get my first name tag, I asked if we could use a nickname. I rocked a Skip name tag for a few weeks.
So white.
This dude acting like a 20 sided die raped his mom and made him watch before killing his dog.
Oh he’s just bitter no one wants to watch his Soul Caliber stream.
Only 55s?
Step yo’ bicep game up, Whitey.
The closest I’ve come to playing D&D is playing NWN or DDO. I’m too lazy, I don’t want to clean up pieces anymore.
Which reminds me, we could totally play Monopoly online. As long as you guys don’t act like total assholes about it.
You need to stop using that site. It’s slow as fuck mang.
Know what makes me feel really good?
Having not just jumped the gun, and bought Soul Calibur V, THAT’S WHAT.
I was talking about getting us banned, but you looking to see some niggas DIE.
Shit hits the fan on page 9 of the “new” thread?
Check.
Yeah, fuck that. There’s always one dumb nigga in Monopoly that fucks up the game for everyone. I take it upon myself to fight him at every available opportunity. On top of that, I’ve never met a single person other than myself who actually knows the Monopoly rules. Then when you call folks on their bullshit, die hard mufuckas will eat the rules before reading them. People stay on some “house rules, homie” shit. BITCH, IT’S MY HOUSE!
I’ll be a total asshole in Monopoly. I take that shit seriously.
Interfere with my railroad business and it’s your ass, son.
I own a shit ton of D&D books, mostly 3.5, but I have the AD&D players handbook. I also own dozens of issues of Dragon, Dungeon, Nodwick, and Knights of the Dinner table. But I have never played (except like twice) LOL!
Anyway the reason the game is cool is the same reason reading is better than tv. forces you to use your imagination and think. reading is to tv what D&D is to playing video games. video games are always going to constrain you in a closed system, with D&D your imagination is literally the limit. personally, i’m more of a role play person. i don’t care for hack and slash, because computers do hack and slash better, such as diablo 2. role playing is what paper, pencil and dice buy you, not hack n slash. min/maxing is not for me.
I’d play, but its just too big a time commitment for me. kind of like eating healthy. once i get an azn wife to manage my nutrition, then i’ll be good.
Word on the street is, Thurst be touchin’ dem kids. Dude got a backyard full of tricycles and drawls made of fruit roll-ups.
lol wtf, A&W?!
monopoly is the ultimate “act like an asshole” game…that and risk
That’s the thing. This version is strict regulation pretty much. You play the game how it was meant to be played. The thing you can be an asshole about is fucking TAKING FOREVER to roll your god damn dice. That and you can not play to win, then be a little bitch and just give all your property to one person. Fucking hate that shit.
(People like Monopoly? I mean, I know people play it, but this is the first time I’ve heard someone likes that game. I don’t think I’ve ever finished it [like quite a few other things in my life].)
Gods damn it. Another thread already? Really? Like I didn’t have enough shit to catch up on given how little I’ve been on SRK the past month.
Thanks Valaris.
goes back to reading about mathematics instead of catching up because he is a lazy bastard
Yes, I am that boring.
i mean, who doesn’t like monopoly seems like a more apt question.
No, I think “grumpy old dude” fits better. “You kids and your new-fangled shortcuts and comebacks!”
(points to self)
I mean, I know the game is theoretically supposed to be fun, like all boardgames, but that shit ALWAYS takes too long and people either don’t know the rules or eventually outright fuck you over with donations like both Black Jesus and mIRC have pointed out. So, yeah, it’s bit weird for me to hear people like it, perhaps it because it’s a bit weird for me to hear that people have ever legitimately finished the game in the first place.
Oddly enough, I rather like *Risk *from what little I’ve played it and my tendency to get screwed over even worse in that game.
They learn how to go into crushing debt even earlier than their parents.
That’s something.
