LOL was Lahey actually drunk when he shot for Trailer Park Boys? He looks too convincing.

(Well, these last couple of pages have been a tad more surreal than usual, even by Lounge standards.)

I was reminded yesterday that Blake’s 7 exists and, since I’m currently too lazy to look to see if we have a general Science Fiction thread (that people actually post in), I figure I just ask in here if any of you have ever watched it and had an opinion on it, especially since I know at least some of you watch British Sci-Fi shows. cough@"RockBogart"cough

Isn’t that Mogu nigga a character from Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze?

Damned, before you start popping off, this image quote is relevant to my question. Nigga!

GO TO SLEEP, BETA

It it, but you can still spoiler the quoted image like everybody else with some sense in their head.

(As a refresher, today is Wednesday, @SWBeta.)

For the record (for the last time), I’m fine with images in quotes so long as people aren’t quoting images on the same page, particularly ones right above them, or a huge enough quantity of images to slow down or otherwise take up the page. Otherwise, provided it’s not pornographic or overly graphic or violating the rules in any other way, I don’t tend to care. I would prefer people using spoiler tags for the most part, but I’ll settle for getting people to stop quoting images right above them just to comment a sentence or two on them.

Hax mentioned me in all these posts but didn’t actually mention me. It feels like I’ve been absorbed the Matrix.

Just finished it a couple of months ago.

Show begins with great promise like a lot of sci-fi shows. Big time tackling of social issues: surveillance state, privacy, terrorism and government oppression. Also like a lot of sci-fi shows, it quickly begins to crumble. I won’t spoil it for you, but at the end of the second season there are some major changes to the show. It’s still good most of the time, even with some predictable plot lines and hopelessly inept villains, but the entire scope of the show seems to change at that point and it doesn’t really get back to it’s original roots until the final episode…

Anyhow, the sci-fi is sound when it’s not campy, but it’s a 1970’s BBC sci-fi show what do you expect? They do expand the focus on social issues somewhat throughout the show, sometimes even drawing the line between villain and hero. Serverlan is a wonderful example of the sexy megalomaniac madwoman, but even she’s got a Human(?) side. I gotta say that there were episodes that left my mouth open. Even the good guys can be down right despicable at times. But hey, they’re all criminals and they act like it. Infighting between each other, backstabbing and opportunistic power grabs are common throughout the show. Seeing a realistic take on the ‘bad guy turned good’ trope is refreshing for a change. Seriously, these guys make the crew of the Serenity look like a bunch of Sesame Street puppets.

Overall, I give it a 8/10. It was really good for it’s time and could have been better had the management not fucked it up. It has concepts that were way ahead of it’s time and even then feels almost like a new twist being put on issues that are becoming increasingly more relevant today. If ever a sci-fi series needed a reboot and could do well with it and even be welcomed, given the political climate, it’s Blake’s 7. I highly suggest you and any other sci-fi fans watch it:

This has been one of the most genius seasons of south park ever. The latest episode, omg. Like by the end of the season, im sure every irrational woman and sjw should be forced to watch this season, and see themselves, because this is how a lot of you act.

LOL, da consent forms though.
