To further flex, I called my CC company and asked them to bump up my limit. Not for any particular reason, just to see if I could get it done. She asked my name and as soon as I said it she was like, “Sir, are you SURE you want me to run this report? Are you ready for the demoralizing effect of having a credit limit raising denied? I’m sure by your first name you must be brown as fuck…” But I assured her I was prepared for it. A few minutes pass as her machine tallies up its numbers and runs the report. She could not hide the surprise in her voice very well when she said, “Oh shi–I mean, sir. It looks like your credit limit raise has been approved. We can actually go higher if you wish.”
