I don’t recall ZIP drives being this damn slow. I just don’t have the patience… I gave up on trying to copy whatever the hell old stuff is on there and threw that piece of trash back into the other room, tempted to run back in there and crush it into thousands of pieces. It shouldn’t take 20 minutes to copy over a few goddamn jpegs. Thank God nobody really uses that bullshit anymore.
*oh, and MvC3 was ultimately a waste for my old friend because I’m 99% sure he will play it about 2 or 3 times…and never even look at it again…same as with every other game. I know for damn sure he’s not going to even come close to beating Galactus…sheeit, he probably won’t even make it there.
Also, even if I happened to get the game on PS3, he still would’ve given up playing it after a few days of losing to me. *Note— this isn’t to say I’m “good”…it’s more of a statement of just how bad he is.

I’ve started actually finding ranked matches now, hurray. Not often, but whatever. The arcade fight request way is hella lame lol. A full MP patch better be coming on march 15th, not just some characters. I’m still waiting to fight some of you guys. So far, actually been doing good. I WANT to use Thor as my last slot, and I like the IDEA of him, but I just seem to have him eat a lot of pain and do little good. But I’m still winning lol.
The number of comebacks I’ve pulled off (mainly through morrigan or cheap dormammu tactics) has made my purchase worth it.

Nah, people are just overreacting. I mean, if The Damned is telling people that they’re being drama queens, then you know ninjas are just bitching to bitch. It’s just that thanks to the internet and the inherent system mechanics, the day 1 shit is on some stupidity that usually takes a good couple of months to find and develop. If any of you played poverty/donjon/anime games regularly this shit would be old hat (outside of the damage in X-Factor L3 really, and if it costs two characters and my opponent can activate with three characters through my activation and kill me regardless of how crazy my character has gotten that shit better be potent).
As far as I can tell (from watching streams, messing with the game, and not freaking out), the basic shit does about 30%-50%; more if you’re willing to burn a lot of meter or risk a not!throw break attempt or two. The “oh jesus my character is dead oop aww” combos require either X-Factor, setups into Level 3s, are surprisingly difficult to perform technically (they just look simple because of how the game is designed), or a combination of these things. Even Sent’s dead from 80% combos require flight tricks, an OTG, and at least two bars on non-pixies.
Honestly, this game is an anime game. Yipes has said it, Tinshi has said it, Sp00ky’s said it, the gameplay design choices make much more conceptual sense if you think of it as such. Hell, the X-Factor L3 infinites are straight out of why people play HnK still. There is a reason I kept Chibi’s AH3 avatar.

there’s a regular squeaking noise in my room and I don’t know what’s making it. It’s kind of driving me crazy, but I’m too lazy to investigate further. There’s also a paranoid fear in the back of my mind that some sort of small animal that will bite me if go sticking my hand into dark crevices.
Patching this game will be like patching a crack in the Hoover dam with silly putty, this is only Day 2 and there are already braindead easy infinites. Every time this game gets patched, it will only serve to find more broken shizz while weakening dominant characters to craptacular levels. (lol Poor Sentinel is destined for lameness in a few months)
I’m not even factoring the potentially DLC broken characters/re-dos.
And yes this is perfectly comparable to Brawl which had:
-Easy infinites by day 2.
-Dumbed down gameplay system with faux-innovations (X-Factor anyone?)
-Simplified combo system where normals/moves combo just by initiating them
-Easy defensive options to negate offense
-Snake AKA Sentinel Gear Solid
Honestly, I’m all for giving games their due (which I did with that POS Brawl), but there is an obvious simplification of fighters occurring since '08. It’s just that “WE” the players push these games into the competitive front because it’s new and people are playing it.
This is not to say this game is unplayable, but for me to say this is a naturally competitive game and with well-rounded gameplay would be a boldfaced lie.
Ninja_EDIT: HNK Infinite loops are hard as ****! I respect anyone who can pull any of the stuff I see in that game consistently. And at least the overall damage is fair.
