SRK Lounge Population Control Edition mk 2

I adore Dormammu. Slaying these beta Sentinels. While it lasts anyway. But yeah, other than keeping shit on the screen, I’m still dumpster juice at this game

I loves me my Sent.

It is just not about the damage. It is about the stupid combo system which requires 0 skill.

i don’t find sentinels too pad you just gotta watch for their armour moves(cr.mk and launcher) which all the scrubs are spamming and then punish on reaction. not saying he won’t be disgusting to deal with in the hands of a good tourney player but then again that’s an entirely different discussion.

Yeah the combos are pretty braindead easy. Capcom learned via SF4 that “easy mode” sells, so in their mind if they want to sell more that means more easy mode. I just think that we don’t know how to lock down and zone very well. Mind you I’m saying zone well, and not mindlessly spam. In a bit that mindless spamming will be getting punished HARD.

Dumb question is dumb but…how do I directly invite someone to a game?

Since we can’t seem to resist talking about this, I’ve a bit of question again when it comes to this particular complaint: Where exactly does “easy mode” end and actual “skill” begin? Are they always anathema to each other?

Now, I’m not saying that MvC3 hasn’t been simplified–using “dumbed down” would be buying into what I’m questioning–and all that; it’s kind of natural consequence of having less buttons. I’m just wonder how people define the things that complain about rather commonly given the implications of things. Let’s try and leave XFC out of this for once.

Yes, X-factor is retarded. Now since I actually read the manual I can abuse that shit too! As well as now knowing how to aerial juggle assist and snap back. I was doing awesome last night without this knowledge. It’s that pressure/hit confirm, baby! The damage is way too fucking high, and if you get hit by a super while calling for an assist that’s two characters with 50% life gone in a few seconds. Akuma target combo into sweep, tatsu+super is over 50% damage. Ryu crouching short, crouching MK super=50% damage. My aerial juggle combo game is complete ass but my ground game and rush down makes it so it doesn’t matter, everything does atleast 50% health with a super anyway. Crossups are easy to set up with Ryu/Akuma as well. I wish Ken was in this game, I’d run team triple shoto. That and, I like Ken in the crossover games/ST/Alpha’s/CVS2 a lot more over his 3S and SFIV versions.

That’s not the case at all. I can’t even get past a a fight in arcade mode before I get the “Here comes a new challenger!” message. I also only have it set for my region/rank, so if I set those to anywhere/anything I’m sure I’d be getting into matches even faster. This also isn’t counting the fact that I didn’t come across a single of the 20 SRKers that were on yesterday playing. I think I’m gonna set the “rank” to whatever when I play here in a bit, since everyone is only in the beginning stages anyway.

on psn you hit select and invite, on xbox i imagine it’s tied to the back button.

I don’t think “easy mode” and “skill” are descriptors for the same attribute. At least that’s my belief, when someone says “easy mode” i picture something that takes very little work to do a disproportionate amount of damage. Personally i think you can be SKILLED at an “easy mode” game.

Yeah, easy mode doesn’t necessarily mean ‘no skill’. Everyone will pick up the game and do well, as it is easy-mode. Combo system definitely shows this; why learn the little nuances about a character if many combos can do about half your life? Easy-mode as everyone has the same starting point.

As soon as playstyles start coming into effect (such as rushdown, keep-away, baiting, lockdown), skill takes the front seat. Everyone can get into this game, hence the easy-mode, but in order to get definitive wins and separate yourself from the average, you need to be able to do something that no one else has. Finding specific unblockables, new setups, etc.

I can easily dismiss SSF4 as an easy-mode game but it’s not like I can pull off feats done by Vangief or FChamp through an hour of training mode.

I guess this is why everyone is saying wait until Winter Brawl/ Final Round, where you’ll see how tournament-level players handle this game.

I wouldn’t say they are super easy, at least not with Chun. One of her basic BnB takes a bit of timing but I do know what you mean.

Most of the cast has some variation of L M H S air M M H into whatever. The thing is, why try to make things more complicated when this works perfectly fine? It will be interesting to see how it all evolves in the future.

Also Phoenix is gdlk. Put her as your anchor and build for the 5 meters. Nasty.

I fucked over a Dark Phoenix last night and I got a message saying I was a cheap spammer

 cheap spamming is DP’s game haha.

Also, I just found out that Detroit finally got the funding for the Robocop Statue. Last 25K was donated by a company named… OCP

Omni Consumer Products corporation :: The future of yesterday, today.

Evo2K12 in Detroit.

Your move, creep.

Can anybody else play ranked matches? Everytime I try to play ranked, I get shot down, and sent back to the main menu, wtf :frowning:

The combos are easy, but that’s just basic B&B’s. Once you start trying to do resets or relaunches, it does get slightly more complicated.

I’m truly liking the fact that some of the characters seem so wildly out there. Arthur is a straight up projectile character, and between him and Deadpool, I just know I’m gonna wind up burning through controllers due to never ending QCF’s and QCB’s. Dormammu I love, especially when SFIV ryu’s come in with team Ryu/Akuma/Dante, and sit across the screen from me tossing out hadokens, while I charge up meteor showers.

and gtfo to people bitching about 14 year old sex laws. Canada had that shit forevers, and those were some great days. Basically, it was a law to protect high school students, so that you could fuck a grade 9 chick and her parents couldn’t call teh cops on you. Then they raised the law to 16, which is retarded considering 14 year olds STILL fuck, and more and more people are sexually active then when the law was 14.

It wasn’t like 40 year old dudes were dating 14 year old girls though.

Sovi3t, play arcade mode and turn fight request on.

How many damn versions of Take You For a Ride are there? Jesus…

Dormammu is the shit. Run… RUN!!

Dorms and Trish are a braindead pair. Need a good tertiary for battery.

So…yesterday, amidst all of the MvC 3 hype…I was still playing SSF IV. Does that make me a lesser man?

I know I should probably cash in on all the hype before all the broken shit starts coming up, but I’m just too poor now to afford shelling out the insane amount of cash for MAHVEL BAYBEE!

No. Easiest way to play ranked matches is to turn the language settings to English.

I have I migraine from playing the game.

not hate, jus sayin’.

lol @ Galactus and me beating him on the first try with Sentinel. His ending is dumb (no surprise there).

The T. Hawk fight pad I got made the game easier bu is it me or there some kind of lag when doing the combos?

I was messing around in mission mode and Trish (mainly) showed some weird timing, like I had to hit the buttons faster than they would come out on screen. Is this character-based because I don’t notice it with Dante, Sent, or S. Skrull?

Oh yeah, fuck Viewtiful Joe and all small characters.

What is GD? GD is a first page filled with absolutely nothing but official threads… and somebody you could beat up, then ask for a ride to the club later that night.

yo tommy tommy eds oh wait vs is back yo vs are you as mad as I that the Larry Sanders eps are not in order on Netflix, I am in the season 3 crackbug scratching Larry eps and I realized they all outta wack, also I prefer Blonde Janeane the best.
