da fuck? the age of consent is 14? man wtf is wrong wit these countries. rape rape rape
Man, I can’t wait to get that Mahvel for the 20 dollars. Then I won’t be the only asshole on live not playing it.
What’s the hands on impression so far?

Game is really fast. Damage output is really high. Basic BnB’s/ simple launcher combos can lead to 30-40% damage. X-Factor 1 combo KO’s are quite possible with a lot of characters. Because combo system is easy to work with, it’s very easy to develop combos; whatever you imagine to work could quite possibly work.

Blocking in this game is a little odd. You cannot block on reaction from what I have tested. Usually, in order to block something, you need to predict it before hand, as the super-flash literally freezes you in place. If you try to hit anything, including back(to block) when you see the super-flash, you’re eating a combo/super.
This also goes for blockstrings. If you are in block animation, mashing any button at all will knock you out of block, getting you combo’d for up to 50% damage. If only SF4 had this anti-mash system in it, no more wakeup DP’s… Usually, games are lenient in that as long as you’re blocking, nothing really matters (ie: buffering supers in block were ok), so this is kinda surprising. Maybe block start-up is slow in this game?
Only way to defend on block is using Advance Guard and using the space you now have to do some damage/ play keep-away. Advance Guard’s shoot the opponent quite far away from you so keep-away characters can keep you out even easier.

I haven’t tried online yet, so no idea about netcode and all that.

Phoenix’s health is very disheartening(half of a normal ‘pixie’ character; 420, average health is around 950-1000…) Most combos into supers can KO her, definitely possible with X-Factor.
Sent. + X-Factor= GGPO.
Dante is the easiest and most deadly character to use. Braindead magic series into launcher insert air combo ending with Quarter-Circle heavy into super XFC into another super :wasted:
I’ve played online with CLU and the lag wasn’t horrible, with my friends in the same town in it was pretty good.
The game is fun, I just have to learn how to do combos so I can do damage when the opportunity arises. So far I like Taskmaster and Trish the most.
Chris is cool, but I’m kinda not down with being fucked when people get my face. I don’t have the fighting game brain power to predict what is going to happen in a game I don’t understand yet to be able to keep people out with mines.
My execution is also below scrub level. Sa’ll good though. Arthur is mad fun.
Am I the only one who kinda hates this game? The control scheme is messing me up more than it should and the random change in inputs for moves makes no sense either. Smart bomb is a shoryuken now, wtf? Captain American can’t double jump but Sentinel can. Seems like this game is awesome if you weren’t a huge fan of any of the other ones.
my SE is in Indiana, probly won’t get it til friday if i’m lucky. thanks capcom store!
Game is very fun and easyish to pick up. Especially for somebody with crap execution like me
Hmmm, I have pretty decent execution, and found myself frustrated early.
Now I’m starting to enjoy this game a little bit. Trying to build my team up and stop panic mashing in matches, but I’m getting it.
I could honestly spend all day just in training mode. So much fun to screw around. It’s so hard to make myself invest time in training mode in SSF4, but this game…man, it’s easy.
And Deadpool just wins life. There can never ever be any character in any fighting game that comes remotely close to his level of awesomeness. Ever.
IMO marvel3 will only be fun for a little while. It boils down to who can land their 90-100% combo first. It’s like they tried to take all the awesomeness of marvel 2 and pressed the easy mode button so noobs can feel good about themselves.
MEXEDIT
Still, I would rather watch/play this shit than sfiv any day.
cheh,
It’s like the first time playing a versus game all over again for me. It’s been quite awhile (last year I think?) since I’ve even played the Live Arcade version of regular ol’ MvC2. I’m pretty sure anyone could destroy me online at this point, but this is so fun. I’ve only been playing Arcade mode to get used to how certain things work.
What’s this…a game manual that’s actually good?! Pages are in color and it actually has a fair amount of info?! Twilight Zone, man.
Galactus as a final boss is THE SHIT.
*Deadpool is really, really easy to play… just randomly messing around can get awesome results, apparently.
*it seems easier for me to move around with the d-pad but switch out to the analog stick for the supers so far, since it’s way more reliable to do a circular motion with the analog stick.
*My annoying pal got it for Ps3, and of course he whines about why I didn’t get it on there…haha, not my fault you bought the shit for the WRONG system. Sheeeit, have fun playing against no one.
Meh, as opposed to marvel 2, where everyone aims to get infinites.
Honestly, I’m expecting that you will see those full bar combos less and less as people learn to counter the setups. Obviously, if they get them, they’ll take them, but same thing in mvc2 with infinites.
And once people stop stupidly trying to fight back against an x factor sentinel, then that tactic will wear off.
I think day one (or whatever counting all the early copies) is nary the time to be placing judgment on the future of a game.
Unless it’s KOFXII. That game was an impotent scrotum at the start.
Signed,
Everybody
It’s kind of fun until the easy damage + x-factor BS comes into play. That makes it feel pretty random sometimes and hard to maintain a lead/control of the match.
First off, I never got into MvC2 as opposed to other games so I don’t know where you got this fanboy BS. But since we are making assumptions, you sound like what I said before about hating on a game that just came out. OMG the damage is too much!!! If I’m a fanboy you are a negative nancy.
Already getting dem rage messages for using Sentinel.
Thank god, I’m not even trying to play in Ranked. I can only imagine the morton’s I’d get in my inbox.
You said you have no Marvel experience then go and praise Marvel 3 for being awesome. Great fucking job! You deserve a pat on the back.
I’m basing the damage off Marvel 2 which of course you just said YOU NEVER GOT INTO.
So how would you know if damage is too little or too high when you didn’t play Marvel 2 or Marvel 1?
And yes you do sound very fan boyish with 2 comments. First you said “Regardless of what some top marvel players say, Marvel 3 is awesome” You’re disregarding opinions of people with extensive Marvel knowledge. Second you said “Anyone that talks shit on this game should just sell their game off to someone else and pick up a Wii.” Do I need to even break this one down? I think you can see for yourself on this one.
P.S I never said Marvel 3 sucked. I just said it has flaws. Example being damage and x-factor.
I don’t know about this. The only character that looks for infinites is Iron Man, and next to Josh 360 who else uses him beside a couple Japanese players?
Most top Magneto players either reset you to death or double snap you to death. Most storm players just look for that Stom/Sent DHC or run away all game. Most Sent look for fly/unfly, and most cables look for AHVB.
drop more names ckrazy
Damage and X-Factor are the biggest disappointments for Marvel 3 for me, and you don’t even have to play the first game to know this. I had my SSF4 players and my BlazBlue players going WTF every time I killed them with half a combo. X-Factor has tons of one hit “combos” that kill… esp. with Sent (jesus).
Time to go semi-scald the hell out of my skin for a bit. Hurray.
That makes far more sense.
Oh please. Take your faux righteous indignation to Delaware and such other states if you’re so concerned about people getting banged legally at 14.
Go ahead and camp with a single xfactored sentinel and tell me how that goes. Pretty much anything he lands results in OTG rocket punch xx super. If you block it, enjoy the chip damage. For a fat ass robot, look at the speed of his moves coming out. 1 button unfly sentinal. Quick recover crouch high, and the worse of them, the BOOT which beats out many characters initial moves and can hit from half screen.
I mean most teams already have him as a main. Certain characters are simply mismatched against him from the go.
People say give it time, but with this bread and butter system I say give it time to see which characters become “TOPS” and copy the easy bread and butter combos of that character and make it your own.
Eh people are just used to low damage SF4 and Blaz, I had a blast playing Marvel last night.
