His example is terrible but the general sentiment is on the right track. You can’t keep an entire genre of music stuck on one style. That’s what was so interesting about Lil B when he gained traction; he was fucking weird to the people who were fucking weird in hip hop.
As long as the lyricism is kept at a high level then the approach and musical track would have a lot of growth. The problem that a lot of old heads have with new kids is that they just say stupid shit. But they aren’t saying new stupid shit, they’re just doing old stupid shit in a stupider fashion. Rae Sremmrud is a good example of just bad lyricism and doing stupid shit. People got hype because nobody sounded like them but they weren’t doing anything all that exciting in the first place.
More experimentation and pushing the genre is great. Doing lazy shit because the musical track is carrying you as opposed to your lyrics, bad.

That facebook link man…I pretty much said the same before when talking about this in person with someone. If there’s people out there to cater to with that crap music then by all means go for it and dont hate on them. But me personally I couldnt live with myself making that kind of music and cant stand hearing it. Thats not talent…its not.

I have been thinking about how cable television turned into colossal shit lately. I remembered when cable television offered a shit ton of content for such a small price; now they offer next to nothing for a premium price.
Back in 2003, Comcast offered their mid-premium tier channel package which contained 500+ channels - excluding the movie and foreign channels - for $50 a month, and the top tier channel package which got you all channels they had to offer was like $65 a month. Now $60 a month only nets you the basic cable package which has roughly 70 to 80 channels; that’s over $1 per channel.
What the fuck happened? I thought cable television was supposed to be cheaper this decade, especially with competition from streaming services.
