Funny thing about Skullgirls is that it does have a really strong zoning component to it. There are characters that once they’re far away from you are more than happy to maintain that space. The hilarious part is that people have complained about the zoning characters going to the grill with their projectiles. Even in the fighting robot game that the Cannons made people were complaining constantly about the one zoner and how they couldn’t get in. Doesn’t seem to be a happy medium when it comes to this and mIRC always refuses to follow up posts when asked about his main premise. How do you balance things between keeping out and getting in? If space control should be a big component of a game, how many dedicated zoners should it have? Then of course is the issue of what happens if a zoner moves in for the kill, is it still considered a zoning win if he left the zone for a mix up he got a chance to go for or not?

Its gonna be kind of interesting for Skullgirls in the coming months as some of the local MvC3 players are starting to gravitate towards it. Hopefully it starts getting a bit more steam. More than happy to buy it for PS4 if it gets used.

Skullgirls is an extremely fun game tbh, any Marvel fan should love it imo. It’s a bit mix up heavy, but I guess that is better than the Marvel 3 alternative where if you are fighting a character like Firebrand sometimes your only chance to get to play is if your opponent drops a combo

My bad I meant reset heavy, not mix up. I would edit my post but Java script on this site has gone kaput

what

the

fuck?

Yeah, those DLC characters sure weren’t zoners

“Entered my chamber” rofl I’m weak

LMAO wtf? He can’t do shit!

Neither of those characters were DLC.

Zod was DLC.

Time goes by soooo slowly when you’re a cashier sigh

The answer is no. Whether a character is a zoner or not isn’t determined by a single match, let alone single matchup. Go watch more matches and you’ll see he’s more likely going in with dashes, whether ground or air, and 6H. Or he’s just getting bodied as usual.

All those “fun tools” amount to poor space control resulting in a cast of characters that have to go in to be successful, hence why there are no zoners in Glamorous Garbage.

Maybe you oughta poke your soft spot to see if you can get your memory straight. As I’ve always said, there are no zoner/keepaway characters in Glamorous Garbage. The goal posts haven’t changed, you just keep bashing your head into them. You’ve added three meaningless words to zoner to try to skirt this issue now, first your started with “dynamic”, then “traditional”, and now you’re saying “dedicated.” You’re a “dedicated” Daisuke Dick devourer, remove the dedicated and you’re still a penis slurper.

Let’s get it straight for every helmet wearing shoulder biting Hecatom wretch out there once and for all. If your definition of zoner is simply someone who controls space you are wrong. Using this definition is moronic as every character in every fighting game controls space. A zoner is a character who not only controls space, but endeavors to keep the opponent at a distance because it is their optimal strategy. Keeping the opponent away limits their options more so than otherwise and they get the most damage from doing so.

Two.

get off your fuckin phone and do your fuckin job you filthy serf! Dont make me tell your manager Terrell that youre posting on srk again!

Whatever you say Tsundere motherfucker

Zod was definitely a DLC character.

I have watched matches and it seems to me that he opts to hang back and do the sparrowhawk thing just as often (if not more often) as he goes in close. I guess this begs the question: if someone goes in after a KD for some sort of mix up/pressure, are they no longer considered a zoner? A zoner must always stay at full screen no matter what? Now I’m going to bring a new character into the fold, Faust. He has a strong zoning game (amazing long range pokes and good projectiles) and he can play a variation on the classic fireball + anti-air game, but ultimately he wants to use his tools to get inside and run a strong oki/mix up game. So he can’t be considered a zoner at all? I don’t know, I see what you’re saying, but I think that your definition just isn’t compatible with this game; you’re looking at it in the wrong light

Hey ya mind checking this Youtuber out and leaving a like if ya like the content? I don’t know this person at all. I just liked what I saw and think she has potential as a content creator for the FGC.
