I have no interest in KoF. Like zero, at all. All the people who talk about it discuss the lack of comeback mechanics, and other current tech in fighting games, as the reason they enjoy it. To which I wonder, why not just go play older games then?
And I am loving SFxT, it’s my guilty pleasure. I keep telling myself I will never play again, after losing yet again due to fucking timeouts. I keep telling myself I won’t touch Bison anymore because he is the 2nd worst character in the game. I keep telling myself I hate how I will never have more than 200 BP, as I won’t branch out and learn the newer characters, and my characters can’t really take advantage of wall bounces, ground bounces, juggles, or tagging a partner in mid combo, or any of the newer techs in the game. And yet it’s still in my console, and still brings a smile to my face. I just wish I knew how so many fucking people were already 10k+ in that game.
edit: interesting news. Apparently they didn’t do the right shit when they went after Kim Dotcom and Megauploads. And a judge ruled the orders against him null and void.

But its true, KOF 13 is sorely lacking characters its just seemed bland to me. SFxT, after getting a fight pad, it got fun. Akuma is no joke.
I like KOF because it has a faster pace and the mobility is great. While XIII is missing a few characters like Oswald/Gato/Geese/Yamazaki, I like the roster a lot. I like having a versatile moves list for my character. See in Capcom land, no way you can have A)A command grab you can combo after B)Autoguard DP C) a FB D)ground overhead E)cross up aerial normal F)Untechable combos from lows while still being a high mobile character with standard health and stun(Iori Yagami). KOF just feels like it gives me more freedom in what I can do. The characters stand out more. I’m not going to play SF and find someone with the options like Robert Garcia. They don’t exist. Closest might be Seth but he’s a glass cannon. I remember Gato in XI. At first I didn’t want to play him but when I did, this guy is a offensive monster. He’ll wreck everything in sight. To me, he’s what Akuma should have been.
Now, I like SF as a series and I’ve played SFxT but those games make me feel completely restrained whereas KOF and GG makes me feel like I can do more. I just find it to be more fun and exciting. It’s not for everyone though, that’s why I simply say give it a shot since it’s a good FG.

KOFXIII is a current game. Why not play it? Especially if it has features you like and excludes features you dislike?
actually how Hatred just described it has me interested. But in now way can I afford it right now, so I will either have to hope to find it in a used bin somewhere, or hope for a price drop, or hope somebody really REALLY likes me 
and I never said it excluded features i dislike. I like comeback mechanics. I don’t really see a problem with ultra’s at all, nor do I see a problem with X-Factor, aside from the gross imbalance in damage/speed when you’re down to your last character, but even then, I fucking love it lol. Cuz it still benefits me from time to time. Pandora mode sucks ,but not for being OP, rather because its just incredibly shitty and lame.

Not exactly on topic, but this was actually discussed many years ago when I worked at a hotel.
