SRK Lounge "Help me you nerds!"

Nah, I’ve got some work-related things to take care of Sunday afternoon, so I didn’t bother going to NEC.

I don’t think so.

I think older generations have gotten used to the idea that the newest generation will always have it easier than the one that came before it. That breeds a few things in the older generations–a sense of pride, and a sense of resentment. “Look what we’ve accomplished for these young people!” and “Those rotten bastards have all this shit that I never had!” You know, the sort of self-contradictory opinion that people are quite good at holding when they haven’t quite thought it all through.

The older generations are so used to thinking of young people as molly-coddled in every way, when those very young people have just been mercilessly injected into an adult world where the job market has grown hostile and the government-industrial complex is more ruthless than it has ever been.

The difference between this generation and the previous generation is that this one now knows, for real, that everyone is not a winner. The one before it might have gotten a few kicks and scrapes in dodgeball or little league, but it didn’t have this.

Lol, Merciless?

Niggas living with their parents and still eating off their dime got it rough?

How many dudes got rich off of just being an Usher wanna be like Justin Bieber. And I am sure my dad got more than a few scrapes in little league being the first black kid to play it in his town and all. I can’t even begin to imagine the shit he had to go through with trying to deal with the repercussions of segregation and all that shit, at least when I was a kid I could beat up the white boys that called me nigger without fearing that my whole family would be killed.

Unfortunately, no :frowning:

never agreed with an angelpalm post so much in my life
preach it brother

I think the government-industrial complex was a wee bit more ruthless back when they got exclusive contracts to most products and tracts of lands, could indenture people, get slaves, and some other things. That time was pretty bad. What we have no is still the same problem we had since Reagan except that now more people are a little bit more aware of it. Doesn’t make it any worse or better than the 80’s; people now use lobbyist more freely in conversation. Not that the 90’s were that different than now. We the same fundamental problem; except that we could pretend to be happy because we didn’t know that the country was creating a nuclear strike straight into its own economy in the process.

What is different now than before is that the middle class white people get to eat a dick with the rest of the lower classes. Because if there aren’t broke as people doing menial jobs, there isn’t going to be somebody from a comfy background telling them what to do. What’s even better is that instead of it turning into racial pointing, non-balling white people finally get to understand that they’ve been having the shit pie with the rest of us for a lot of things. Poor people got the dick, those hustling upwards got the dick too and then the middle class is starting to realize that it has to man up and do the cowgirl scene in the big dicking that was handed to us.

Was 20 years ago somehow better than now? I guess if you wanted to chill for a bit. But we still had the same shit hole problem and Adam Carolla can go eat a dick about it.

congrats. I also am liking the way win7 runs as well.

It’s Saturday, and I’m not drunk yet. Maybe I’ll tie it on later tonight, but Not much. I think it’s time to unleash the moose (My slang for Jagermiester) and holla at the Sun. What say you, my SRK brethern?

@ boel: tell ol’ girl in your av that she fine and I’m liking her hair. They don’t wear it like that these days, and I appreciate.

Someone told me ST was unbalanced.
Didn’t know what to say.

Finally got to play Just Cause 2 lol
Bought it on steam during a sale and never could run it cause it’s Vista or 7 only.

It’s nice to run a game on max settings without any hiccups.

HOLLA

Bought our first real Christmas tree today. As I screwed the tree stand in place, I was bombarded with tiny spiders, which I killed with my fists.

Spiders: enemy of Christmas. That sounds like the name of an indy band.

Got about 7 hours of sleep and feeling MUCH better. Not enough really, but I got stuff to do before I go to work again. Godamn co-worker traded shifts with me and now I can look forward to 5 12-hour shifts starting Friday. Sunday morning, though, I’m off. Gonna sleep and play with my kids for those 4 days and that’s about it. Nigga tired.

Boy I’m sure glad that Feudalism at its best, then during Mercantilism at its worst, and the Industrial Revolution never happened.

Shout outs to angelpalm and Pertho for beating me to the punch.

There is record turn out of white people at NEC. Clutch your purses people.

I loved Miracleman.

I still haven’t read the newest LoEG yet.

I will probably enjoy it. Alan Moore as a person sometimes tries to hard to be weird and different though, but that has nothing to do with his writing skills.

I also have to read Blankets and Habibi. I really admire Craig Thompson because none of the pages seem like throw away pages. He’s basically like “All these pages matter so they will all look baller”

Throw in a few hot chicks in tiny outfits and some music, and I think you’ve got a 30 minute Holiday hit in the making. Ain’t no time like this time.

It’s not a day unless the dog has gas, lays down next to you, and unleashes it in his sleep. Christ almighty.

Speaking of Christmas, our tree needs to go up, if we can get any room for it. Hopefully no spiders.

Should’ve signed up for secret santa. Would’ve sent my recipient a tarantula.
