they’ll get tons of money back from taxpayers, the movie is full of product advertisements, pre selling TV rights, selling dvd rights to foreign countries, etc. all the advertising is paid for through tie ins with stores who foot the bill for advertising.

I’ve heard several movie directors say in Hollywood, you get to keep making movies as long as your movie makes up what it cost and a little extra. That 3x cost thing sounds like BS.
Edit: And from what I hear in some Carolla/Smith interviews, movie studios now use Theater releases as giant trailers for the DVD release which is where they make a lot of their money back.

hmm, apparantly the DC reboot isnt a full reboot. Stuff done by Johns, Morrison, and other successful runs will stay on. Pretty much just rebooting shit that doesn’t sell, I guess. Wildstorm Universe is being integrated into the DC Universe though.
