PS - Pete Boel, DUSTIN ACKLEY aka NEW CHASE UTLEY
If we all loved All-Star Superman so much, does that mean we should get hype for Grant Morrison on Action Comics #1? I mean it kind is just All-Star Superman again, right? But in actual continuity?
But I find this whole reboot thing so hilariously dumb, so I don’t really know which side of the fence I’m on.
Superman’s new costume is hilarious too. It’s got like this horrible 90’s tech feel, like slightly armoured, with plated boots and stuff…like why does Superman need this padding and stuff? He is Superman.
I don’t know if the Teen Titans (Superboy specifically) have the worst redesign yet or Harley Quinn.
This might be the complete utter end of DC comics. 70 years of comics might be dying right before our eyes.
No.
A-SS is the character of Superman distilled to his purest most entertaining form. It’s like that gastronomical gas that is pure flavor, the pure flavor of whatever your most favorite food is. Magical Superhero Gastronomical Oxygenated flavor.
And DC Imaging themselves is hilarious. I hope the comics are horrible but they sell like wildfire and the 90’s really do come back.
At least Vertigo is safe, as long as they leave Vertigo alone who cares.
but i have the old chase utely isnt he utley enough
push the trades though !!!
Don’t, VETO IT. VETTTTTTOOOOOOOOOOO IT.
I will give Roy Halladay away to whoever makes this veto possible.
hellll yeahh gimme that dan uggla
I knew rock was responsible for this, what a dick bro i mean no human likes pootien but really breh.
This league spins wildly out of my control more and more everyday.
THY TRADES ARE UPHELD BY THY HIGHEST AUTHORITY
That’s a good point though, ASS was distilled and pure and crazy, and that’s what made ASS so great. But this is still kind of the same crazy project, right? Give Morrison free reigns to build a brand new continuity for the character? The flavour is still good!
I think there was like one other new #1 that I was actually kind of interested in. It might have been the new magical JLA type team? But now I can’t remember. I think I was looking over all the titles announced, and never had I felt so apathetic in my life towards comics.
thanks buddy
hmm it looks like the damned didn’t do the researchwith regards to aaliyah’s plane crash.
i like aaliyah a lot, but it’s funny how people act like she had a great voice. shorty was janet jackson 2.0, a great dancer with a weak voice that had great producers (kells & timbaland).
My buddy is a SUPER huge DC fan. He’s got tons of old school Supes and Batman and Wonder Woman comics, figurines, the whole nine yards. But he’s pissed. They already rebooted, then brought back the 52 multiverses, now they’re rebooting again, after setting up several stories, characters, and so on? Barbara Gordon walking again? Check. Darkseid dead then possibly being revived simply due to a fucking reboot? Check. All the Kryptonians from Kandor alive again? Check.
All this reboot bullshit, just so when the JLA movie starts up, they can point to the rebooted comics and say “see, this is how the JLA met started. now you can’t all complain about canon”
That’s pretty much exactly what my buddy said. Warner Bros seems to have no problem shitting out garbage DC movies (Superman Returns, Jonah Hex, Green Lantern, Catwoman, Batman & Robin), and now they’re rebooting the comics and pretty much pissing in the faces of everybody who has ever supported them. I can’t wait until Fan Expo in a few months, so I can ask them what in the blue hell is going on.
It’s like Jose Quesada and Bob Harras had some running bet on who could piss off more of their hardcore fans more
The riots in canada.
C’mon son
Win one for the rape victim. Straight up ganster.
Lady walks into market, with the head of her attempted raper.
I actually like and kind of understand the ambition behind the move. DC’s getting killed in the print industry, and they haven’t had any half decent movie franchises outside of the Batman movies.
Marvel on the other hand is pumping out dozens of movies constantly, making insane money that completely dwarfs their print sales. At this point, Marvel is really only still in the comic business just to fuel their movie business. You would think DC, with such a huge distributor and producing studio in Warner Brothers behind them would be able to, at the minimum, keep up. This just shows how big of a fuck up their movie division is. I hope to God they weren’t banking on Green Lantern to rejuvenate their brand, because I don’t even think that movie’s going to make its budget back.
DC realized they were not in a good place, that they were on the way down. So a big shakeup was required, and the big thing isn’t with all the new #1’s, it’s with the digitial distribution model. Which might be an equally terrible idea, but whatever. The big thing is that DC is going to start selling comics digitally, like iTunes with songs.
I think the execution of both ideas is just about as bad as you can get, but still…the AMBITION behind it - the realization that something HAD TO BE DONE - has to be respected, if not admired.
Admirable intentions. Laughably bad execution.
Do Krokodil (a form of russian heroin) and look what can happen
You can see that dude’s bone.
lol no, GL made something like $55 million opening weekend, and it was budgeted at around $200 million. In Hollywood if you don’t at least triple your investment, you technically lost. But I don’t even see it breaking even. I mean, when you have stupidity like him discovering his powers and rather than racing to Oa to learn whats going on, he instead has a random fucking dinner date with his love interest, what did they expect? Oh yeah, and they didnt use Sinestro properly at all. Or ANY OF THE FUCKING CORPS.
DC and Warner Bros are trying to sell movies on the name and effects alone. Comics need good storylines, and GL and Superman Returns didn’t have that (dunno about the others, I steered clear). GL is basically a fucking terrible origin story, that bounces around A LOT, throws in a lame super uber monster villain that is never properly discussed (all we know is that it feeds off fear). Hell, the end of the movie never even dealt with the fact that a super giant monster descended to Earth and wrecked havoc. It’s just a kissy scene with his woman, who never once asks “hey are there more giant monsters I should fucking beware of?”. And Superman is just endlessly having him fight Lex Luthor. Fantastic, endless fights you just know are going to be filled with Lex using Kryptonite and Superman not being able to use his full skills against an opponent. People want to see Supes punching people through buildings, or throwing cars at them, or flying by while lasering with his eyes, or throwing mountains at people. Instead we get the same old “watch bullets bounce off him” or “look he is lifting something that is incredibly heavy hurray!!!”. I don’t even know if Zod can save the next movie. We’ve had like 6 Superman movies, and he’s only fought Zod and Lex. Seriously? Still no Brainiac, or Mongul, or Darkseid, or anybody else who is evil and not from Earth? Its like WB is terrified of adding MORE aliens to Superman, or somehow thinks that because most mainstream people don’t know who Brainiac is, that they shouldn’t bother introducing him. Fucking guy who was behind the destruction of Krypton and yet they keep subbing in fucking Lex Luthor SOLO
Warner Bros has to stop allowing random directors to make DC movies. Look how much time and effort goes into the Batman franchises, and most Marvel movies. In DC movies, you don’t even get to know they’re in the same universe. Superman has no clue who the fuck Batman is, or vice versa. When Marvel makes a movie, they talk about the other characters (such as Hulk footage playing on the news during Iron Man), they fit a shit ton of characters into the movie (Curt Conners in the Spidey movies, for instance), they basically let viewers watch the MARVEL universe…whenever they didn’t (Fantastic Four) it failed.
Its like WB just lets directors make their interpretation of a DC character. IE - Tim Burton doing Batman
WTF more Street Fighter with dubstep sheeeeiiiiit
yea that’s not true
green lantern was probably profitable before it even hit theaters
