He’s now gettin ready to go about classics but those are hard to argue as classics cuz their not old enough to fall into those kinds of categories either. Only show he’s mentioned that’s old enough to arguably fit into that catagory is Lupin III. It would be interesting to know which Vampire Hunter D movie he’s talking about. Wonder if he’s seen them both or not. Most people got into D with Blood Lust and didn’t venture any further then that.
His Anime and Manga history is about 10 years old…Laughable for him to be tellin people to get educated when most of anything he talks about is from the 90’s.

I definitely can’t get mad at anyone who puts Kenshin and OS in the “classic” category. FMA classic? Yess. Miyazaki films classic? Yes. They don’t have to be 15+ to be there imho.
When your trying to make an argument about it tho you kind of need to set some kind of ground rules for just WTF classic means. Classic tends to be stuff that stands the test of time but less then 20 years is too short to be knowing if it’s stood the test. People will talk about Princess Mononoke for years to come but I doubt the same can be said for Howls Moving Castle since most people didn’t actually like the movie.
something has to prove it’s lastability to become a classic. You can’t just be good and become an auto classic. It doesn’t really work that way.
Outside of like DBZ, Ninja Scroll, Bebop, Yuyu, Vampire Hunter D and like Mononoke that anime shit is garbage day anyway.
LOL. outlaw star is not a classic…i dont care wtf anyone says. it was good…it was a time killer. Akira is a classic…db/dbz is a classic.aignt no nigga convincing me that outlawstar was a classic.
Akira’s a terrible fucking movie tho. It Animates amazingly well but for telling a coherent tale that makes sense…it’s fucking aweful. The Manga’s amazing but the movies pretty damn bad. I’ll take Outlaw Star over Akira any day of the week.
Video froze at the 30 minute mark but i had kind of had enough at that point anyway. There’s a lot of good shit coming out these days, really quality work in both Anime and Manga it’s just not on Cartoon Network anymore, you need to Torrent it, or pray some company picks it up and releases DVDs for it. And for the love of god don;t go to fucking youtube looking for a quality community. Christ.

I think his big point (what I got from it) was the chronic forgetfulness of say anime viewers, when compared to music listeners and film viewers. I still hear people talk about Starship Troopers, or 2001, or Eternal Sunshine. Rather than many seeing a series as “too old yo, fuck dat shyt”.
