Supercade is nice in terms of features but the HUD is pretty slow and feels a little clunky. More importantly, Supercade has input delay, and it’s consistent. So the games often feel more stable, especially on a shaky connection, but it’s just a different kind of bad. Good game on GGPO is better than a good game on Supercade IMO.
BTW speaking of GGPO, there’s a Vampire Savior tournament stream going on right now. For those who feel like multitasking while watching the NCR stream.

Heh, that Mystery Game Tournament Top 8 was far more amusing than I thought it was going to be. I’m tempted to watch the Top 8 for Mortal Kombat 9 despite still not caring about that game if only to watch all the Top 8s; guess that means I’d have to do it for Tekken 6 as well, though that seems like it would be more bearable to watch.

Anyway, as someone who never got hardcore into SF4…does that “vortex” shit seem retarded to anyone else? Like the Akuma stuff that people love, and other crossup loops. Seems really dumb. All games have mixups, but the SF4 stuff looks so…basic. This is just from watching a few matches and playing around online, mostly, so consider the source. But a 30/30/30 mixup which loops into itself, or even the stupid Rufus divekick stuff or Balrog throw mixup just seems… Eh.
Maybe I’m just stuck in the old SF2 mindset where those situations worked completely differently, but 3S is similar in terms of the whole throw/poke/parry mixup and feels more natural somehow. And I don’t say that because I’m a big fan of the game- playing SF4 for a while actually makes me appreciate it more.
Maybe if SF5 ever comes out I’ll start liking SF4 more.
