I brought it up, purely out of curiosity. It seems commonly accepted that a sport is an activity that requires some kind of athletic skill. It also seems commonly accepted that most sports can be thought of as games, but a wide variety of games are not sports. Therefore, it is not at all out of line to wonder about the attempts to blur or broaden the definitions.
From an anthropological point of view, the fact that the term “e-sports” even exists is an interesting reflection upon the subculture that generated it.

I consider making my bed a sport, it’s challenging, get’s the blood flowing, and I do the technique of folding the corners of my bed at an angle, it took me a few tries but I got that shit down. So there, I think it’s legitimately considered a sport, if you don’t think so, then we’ll debate it.

starcraft 2 is taking off, i can’t wait until it becomes mainstream like poker and ufc did. and at the level those people play at, its no longer just a video game. they’re putting in like 10 hours of daily practice, so its a job just like everybody else. if the jocks can make multi million dollar contracts throwing a ball around, well the nerds should at least be able to make 6 figures clicking away on the keyboard.
PS Maxx I can rep more than my own body weight on the bench and squat, which apparently makes me above average in strength (more likely everyone else in america is out of shape) so that makes me super qualified to talk about sports.
