Those folks know they messed up with the new Dante. Now the question is whether they’ll go back to making him look more like the true design of the character, albeit in younger form… or will their pride get in the way? I’d bet money that “artistic pride” gets in the way, and they’ll stick with this cocaine-addict 13-year old look for the new game…maybe add “the real Dante” in later as an unlockable alternate character or even DLC (*of course, because companies have absolutely no shame on the DLC issue lately.)
Similar to watching a wreck happen live during a racing event, it should be interesting and fun to watch just how much of a disaster the new “DmC” might be. If the gameplay is good, that alone might alleviate some of the pain regarding the new character design.
*Brink— This game saddens me. It would’ve been a day-1 purchase without question if they simply made it a 3rd-person shooter. Really, what the hell is the point of all this character customization/creation if I can’t see how badass and cool my character looks at all times? This also gets to the point of why I don’t really like the whole FPS style in the first place. If it could’ve been a Lost Planet style 3rd-person game (*with faster movement… I’ve heard that complaint and noticed in gameplay vids that the characters do seem to move slowly compared to other shooters)… that could’ve easily been legend-status with me.
You could just Google ‘HTML Color for Dummies’ and edit the skin yourself. I think Blue Steel has less glitches. Just change the color from blue to black/grey
Old School Blue has a little blue box by the avatars (unless Kyle recently updated it). Besides, there’s a dark theme now anyway.
In other news, I’m pretty sure the CMN Toolbar removal code in those Stylish themes should still function properly, but I haven’t tried it out myself. Either way, SRK has been less annoying for me since the upgrade.
not so ninja [e]dit:
Haven’t checked out that forum in awhile, but yes, Kyle did update recently. You can just play around with the background colors and their hex values to get the desired look you want. If you only want to change the main background color (in Kyle’s version, the old school blue color), you’ll want to change the value of the first background color in his code:
“background-color: #152e49” needs to be changed to “background-color: #(insert hex value of color).” For example, if you wanted a solid black color, it would look like: “background-color: #000000”. (Period was left outside of that last quotation mark for clarity.)
When I have more time, I’ll play around with Kyle’s code and try to get a color scheme close to the old version of SRK Black (not SRK Darkness).
Embedded videos are nice, but I’m guessing they won’t stay. But given that the media section isn’t around anymore, they probably should be allowed in some of the subforums. The forums do have sort of a cleaner look to them in some ways, but it will take getting used to…
I’m all for leaving video and image embedding off of GD. It’s a good idea for the game and media sections, but it’s just inviting spam posts over here.
