quick question…my internet is FUCKED. My download bandwidth is fine, but my upload bandwidth is ugly (various tools I’ve used state it’s only 0.2mb/s). How the fuck do I solve this? Reset the router, power cycled, even called the cable company, all to no avail. My landlord is going to head in to visit them personally to fix it, but I still miss online gaming

what are you supposed to be getting and is anyone else using it besides yourself? if you are supposed to be getting much more than you are ‘using’ then you should probably find out what is infected and get that fixed.

I dunno what I’m supposed to be getting, but I can download fine (downloading a torrent at 587kb/s) but I have no uploading. Trying to post on here or facebook, or trying to play games online, is not happening quickly. Halo Reach network analyzer thingy says I have no Upstream www.speedtest.net shows me as having download speeds of 4.65 mbps, but I think thats supposed to be 12. Upload speeds are 0.14 mbps. I have never had any problems with the net before, here. Just Thursday night, I couldn’t play fuck all. Hell, tried to play MvC3 against Nrpwndy on XBL and he can testify to the shit connection I have. I can still surf the net and I’m watching a streaming movie now while downloading a torrent.
But I have no upstream bandwidth

soviet: well, you obviously do have some ability to pass upstream traffic otherwise you wouldn’t be doing anything on the internet but i see what you mean. you the only user on your network? if so, you need to investigate your machine because you very well could have a virus.

no, not a virus. I’m retardedly careful with my computers, and oddly enough I RARELY download anything (no mp3’s, I stream everything I watch, no pc games at all, don’t install much of anything on my gaming rig I’m building). I went to work, shit was fine. Nobody was home. Came home from work, and my internet was gayer than a pile of Rocky B’s. My iPhone can’t use the web properly with wifi, nor my 360, nor any of my computers. And like I said, the fact I have full download but no upload makes me think it is a problem with my cable company.
